Arsenal to sign Julio Cesar for an undisclosed fee.

Higuain deal a non starter. Man City see him as back up should Alvaro Negredo bid fail.

No word on Fellaini, unlikely to be any deal in place.

Unlikely any signings will be made/announced until after Asia Tour.

Wouldn't worry to much, Manchester United have yet to dip into the market. City and Chelsea have the greater pressure to buy big and buy fast. -

I would absolutely worry! man united have actually bought a right back already and they are not under the same pressure to spend as we are. they won the league and have the best striker in the league - kindly donated by us.
moyes will buy again. city have already bought navas and fernandinho and chelsea will get whoever the hell they want

From the list you've provided, we finished below all of them.

The pressure for us to strengthen is MUCH higher

Why is Higuain a non starter?

Because he is a back-up option in case city don't get negredo?

So Higuain/RM is going to hang around in case the negredo deal falls through? Well that's very nice of them (I am being just a tad sarcastic).

arsenal make it a starter by getting the deal done asap.

The difference being is that finishing 4th in the top four is acceptable to the board. Not winning ANYTHING for 8+ years is acceptable. Sorry but to me, that indicates less pressure. If Man City or Chelsea don't perform well, their managers WILL get the sack before the seasons' out. It's different with Man U, Fergie hand picked Moyes and he will be given time. It's not like Man U have had 100 managers in the past 20 odd years.

Anyway, Higuain is a non starter (as in it won't happen) because. if we were signing him we would have had it wrapped up straight away. Think back to our deals last summer. All done early. In all likelihood, Arsenal will not bring in any big names and then panic buy at ten to midnight (Mert, Santos)

All this talk is just fantasy, don't get me wrong I'd love it to be true. The only thing that can be said for certain is that either A) Arsenal's negotations team are just amatuer or B) Arsenal's negotations team are not in negotiations with anyone right now.

This is a good posting - I was wondering why we didn't sign anyone on July 1st but, what's the hurry? The pre season tour is not the Champions League, it's a trip to wave the flag and play opposition that we are expected to beat.
If it gets to August 16th we've signed no-one of note then I'll worry.
I've got £15 at 11/1 for AFC as PL champions - rock on.
