Arsenal to look into the availability of Demba Ba from Chelsea and also make 17 million pound bid for Everton starlet Ross Barkley

1.) 26 Aug 2013
Barkley would have no time to play in the midfield arsenal posses

2.) 26 Aug 2013
Doubt we would break our transfer record for a teenager

The scouts have been looking at Barkley, but that is as far it has got.

As for Ba, he'll asked for a move if Rooney signs, as Jose will keep Torres. I can't see AFC signing him though, although I wouldn't mind him in the squad. If nothing else, he'll keep Diaby company!

Wake up dude. Striker Demba Ba?
I'd prefer we place £20Million for Chamakh. Its 6am! Wake up

Even though he's not the type of midfielder we're obviously lacking, I'd love to see Barkley come in.

The only way it could happen is if we went very high, riskily high-25 mill minimum- with a bid, but that's unthinkable with the way we operate.

Might seem ridiculous to talk of such a high price, but why the hell would Everton sell a guy who looks like he could truly have everything (strength, skill, brilliant shooting and passing off either foot) if you were only offering a 'fair' price which took into consideration inexperience, the fact nothing's guaranteed, etc?

Sadly, recent history suggests we'd lose out (we sign the Championships best young talents) if serious about him, and, worse, that Manchester United will be the ones who get him. They tend to get the British players who are or are likely to become likely to become the best in their position- Keane, Ferdinand, Rooney, Jones- and boy-oh-boy that policy, even if costly, has been more than proven correct.
