saw an article saying cazorla has agreed personal terms with atleti any truth in this or nonsense? is he even alowed to agree terms with another club?
"According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, the in-form Arsenal man has already provisionally agreed to a La Liga return with Atletico, who are now set to enter into negotiations with the Gunners."

while I do like cazorla I would not mind him moving to Athletico, if we can recoup some or all of the money we paid for him, and invest in a CDM.

he will be 31 this year and his best years physically ( which are necessary in the EPL) are either done or a year away from it.

i do not like to see key players leave but in this mad world of football where players are nothing but cogs of the machine, it fits us well to replace ageing part.

however the athletico link could be perhaps as arsenal don't do long term contracts over 30 years of age and he is trying to gain leverage to get one?

IMO this is all coming out of thin air--there was interest last year, and the paper can probably get more hits if they print it now when he's the name on everyone's lips. AW would be mad to let him go considering he's adapted so incredibly to a subdued role in midfield. Been a joy to watch since he got his mojo back v Newcastle and I'm loving it.

Personally I think he has at least 3 years left in him at the highest level. After a mediocre season last, he's really come to the fore now. If he carries on like this he'll edge player of the season for me.

{Ed001's Note - it was Santi that wanted to leave to go home mate.}

Atletico Madrid, would still have to agree a fee with Arsenal, so it's not a forgone conclusion. Don't forget Cazorla's agent may will be in negotiations with Arsenal for an extension to his current deal and this may just be a rumour put out to enhance his chances of getting a long term deal with increased wages. I am certain that Cazorla cannot yet speak to a club about a deal without Arsenal's permission.

Personally I think it could explain his new found enthusiasm for the game, if Arsene has said play yourself away rather than sulk well done him.
Carzola gets his move Athletico get their man and we get a very very good 6 months apposed to a lazy 3 years. I don't believe in the saying everyone's a winner but its hard to find the loser in this scenario

we have a lot of players in central midfield,granted most of them are injured for large spells, but if we do sell cazorla, and with Arteta and flamini, and rosicky nearing the end, a season at best for Arteta and Rosicky, I would see us looking to add atleast 1 CDM and 1winger/striker this summer to address those pending departures. we have quite a few young players who will add depth. not ideal but I don't think throwing 100 mill and buying 21 first team players is the solution.

{Ed001's Note - I will be gutted when Rosicky leaves the Prem, that is one player I love watching on the ball, he is class, similar to Silva at Man City. It is a pleasure to watch them orchestrating games when they are in full flow.}

i see what you mean ed, while its easier to replace rosicky who is more an impact player, his flair will be missed, but for liverpool to replace stevie G? big task. just like how Manchester United are finding hard times without the class of 1992 around. and i'm quite sure chelsea will miss that solidarity of john terry when he is no longer around. i'm sure they won't miss his wayne bridge moments thou. haha

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced it is that difficult to replace Stevie to be honest. I have always thought we played better when he was out, as he is too powerful and every ball ends up heading towards him, no matter how many better options are available. Added to the fact his legs have gone and he has no idea how to defend, it is time he left, actually I believe Paisley would have sold him years ago, when he refused to play on the right any more. I think Chelsea are now well placed to manage without Terry as well, unfortunately!}

i d agree chelsea are well placed to cover terry with zouma and cahill and even varane in the summer, however the experience and nature of the player, basically playing with injuries and even in times of sickness a player of those characteristics are hard to come by, I have a feeling chelsea won't be as sturdy without terry than they think they will.

{Ed001's Note - I just think they will benefit from the pace at the back. I do agree it will affect them at times, but I think the qualities of the replacement will outweight it.}

yeh from the sounds of it chelsea will be going all out for varane soon and a partnership of varane and zouma could be very good
