Hello ed, any truth that arsenal are close to securing a deal for Denis Suarez? Sky sports are reporting it.

{Ed002's Note - After not being able to sign Rabiot, Banega, Fornals, Herrera and Zielinski Arsenal are indeed looking to Suarez who is also of interest to Valencia.}

That's cool David Jason was 3rd choice to play Del boy and worked out quite nicely for everyone in the end.

To be fair perhaps not the position we desperately need but does sound like a bargain to me.

Thanks Ed, would he be Ramsey’s replacement or Elneny’s?

{Ed002's Note - He is not a DM player.}

sad days ahead for Arsenal if we are being forced to go for our 7th choice for a position. The owner is a miser who refuses to put his own money up. We shouldn't spend the already scarce cash we have in January. Ride out the season and go in for proper players in the summer, when they are available and their parent clubs more willing to sell. Enough panic buying and panic contracts. We still have so many players to clear out. either they are rubbish or they are at the end of their careers. This process of change, and yes i am just saying change and not evolution cause we are in the same position as last year. we still can not beat the top teams and our away form is dodgy. our defense looks shaky against teams like Blackpool. we can not afford to buy fringe players. If we do our buying like Liverpool in the next 2-3 seasons, then and only then will we have evolved and finally shifted out of the Wenger Era. Till then buying players like banega and D. Suarez is just stupid in my opinion. Hopefully we get a center back and a decent winger. we have no width and ya'll already know about our legendary defense. those positions are more vital, not buying more midfielders.

h2z_gunner - I have some sympathy with that view, but it's not exactly clear that Suarez is our seventh choice of player. We may have had an interest in many players, but not all should be perceived as relative choices. The money situation is what it is - a combination of the business model Arsenal choose to pursue and FFP. I suspect the issue that constrains our activity in the market place is a squad bloated with highly paid players who we need move on before any serious activity takes place. January has never been the best time for such surgery. Contract issues force our hand with some players (e. g. Ramsay) and injuries may provoke a knee jerk purchase for the defence. However, I get the distinct impression that Emery has a very good idea what he wants this squad to look like come August, I just think he is the type of man who is patient. Remember, Liverpool fans were saying saying 'same old, same old' in Klopp's first year; look at them now.
