There is a post in here which I think may hold the key to us getting Suarez. i'm not in the know, but I do believe the 40m clause has another stipulation which is the club must be in the champions league. Liverpools argument is that we are not in the champions league because of the qualifier. This will have to be reviewed by the Lawyers, but if if we by the player and get knocked out if the tournament then the contract is not valid. Wenger made a comment in the last Press meeting stating that any new players arriving is in our own hands. Everyone thinks this is financial but I think it might be regarding champ league qualification. Km

Liverpool are confident over the contract. Suarez is squirming. If he fights the contract legally he will most likely lose. He is just after more money and really does not care whether he moves to Arsenal or not. Spain is where he wants to be. Liverpool do not want to sell him to Arsenal but they will if you pay close to 50 million. You are wasting time and energy bidding up a little at the time. Arsene has to put up or shut up. Real Madrid may wake up and then Suarez will be off like a scolded cat and Liverpool will be more than happy,

Yes, I saw that as well, a very good post.

It makes sense and you can see Liverpool's point about cl qualification, but ofc they are trying to get as much money as possible.

tbh, if the bale to RM doesn't look like its going to happen- RM will undoubtedly bid for suarez.

So if the club want him, they need to make it happen asap.

Money will do that- a legal process won't.

The match we play is considered the early stages of the c/l so it does count! the game will be played under the c/l banner so it can not realy be disputed

I think your right, there is more to this whole champions League thing.

I believe that once we qualify (should do with current team) we will wrap up a few big deals.

This surely can be the only thing holding us back at the moment. COYG
