Thankfully the Cabaye bid looks doomed to fail, it is indeed a derisory offer. Cabaye is a good Premiership player, posisbly even top tweny midfielder in the league.

However, he is not in anyway what we want or need. So I for one am grateful the offer was so stupid, and will be hoping we don't raise anyhting near the £18m I suspect will get him. Not because he isn't good, but he is simply not what we want or good enough.

Yes he would improve the team, but then so would a whole range of players, Gustavo was at a different level, Pogba is as good an full of promise, and there are sevreal much better CDM players. Cabaye is, as others have pointed out here, far too much like Arteta and that is simply not what we need.

I worry this is the desperation phase. Richards is good but not ner the promise he showed, Cabaye is good but not the power house we need. it's the same old song. We waste the summer and then seem to panic as the end of the window draws near.

Controversially I would rather just go with what we have than just panic sign. While I think Arsene has made some great signings his more recent attempts at bargains just aren't working.

I agree with Gustavo, he would of been perfect. but given the choice out of no-one and Cabaye I would take Cabaye.

Pogba isn't a 20 million player.

I think straight away we need more numbers but not garbage.

Interesting one for me, Flamini should sign, he was awesome as DM before he left. Free transfer. Play LB RB DM and Midfield.
Cesar, cost is too good to refuse.and Shez doesn't make the mark for me.

Both players would contribute, makes our squad bigger with costing hardly any money. Especcially after clearing out so many.

Then sign 4 quality players. my choice would be;

Michu=one of best finishers around.

Sanchez=need a class winger.

Richards= covers back 4 and can be a machine.

Shaqiri=Not getting game time in quality Munich team.
