A websitew doing a round up of all Prem squads just spotting something and it made me wonder. We only have 8 home-grown players (including Bendtner). Which is the minimum

Could that be a reason why he stayed?

If Bedntner had left we could just have registered one of the young players to make up the numbers

You are not forced to register a minimum of 8 homegrown players. You can register less. However, you can only register a maximum of 17 foreign players. So, if you only register 7 homegrown players, you will in effect have a squad if 24, not 25 players registered.
