Option 1: pay £35 odd million for Draxler.

Option 2: swap podolski and let's say £25 million for him.

Because I can't see wenger spending that much on someone even though we spent more on ozil, who is already world class.

And podolski didn't look happy when oxlade came on, might be nothing. But he's not had many appearances when he's fit, predominantly a super sub or back up for giroud or back up for wide players.

Option number two please!
There is no doubting Pod can finish, but my problem with him is two things.
1) With us playing a system with one main striker you need someone to hold the ball up well and work their socks off. Podolski doesn't do this.
2) Playing Pod out wide you need to be a danger going forward which he is, and do your defensive duties, which he lacks as he can be a bit of a plodder.

I think Podolski is more a victim of the system that we play. If we played 442 Podolski could be a second striker running on to balls, or if he himself worked his backside off out wide then there wouldn't be a problem and the idea of selling him wouldn't make sense, but by the looks of it Wenger doesn't fancy him. If only Giroud had Podolskis' finishing, and because of that I'd be surprised if he left this window.

Option number 1 for me.
Pod is a great left winger, and tracks back a lot, he and Gibbs are supporting each other a lot on the left sideline.
Wenger didn't played him against Aston Villa because he didn't want to risk an injury, if that happens he is left only with Giroud and no other cover for the striker position.
Just my opinion though

I might be wrong here but I see pod as a striker rather than a winger. he does a good job LW but hasn't he won most of his caps as a striker? IF a proper LW is bought that would completely free him up for him and giroud to tussle it out for the strikers position. he gets goals wherever he plays but would score more up top. just my thoughts
