Does anyone still believe Arsene is the right man to take us forward, everyone has an opinion just interested to see what others are.

Confusias says, if you do the same things you get the same results. Steve says, if you are an old bugger in a race against young people, you get left behind.

No, I think he's tactics are outdated and easily countered and still living in a premier league that existed 10 years ago. There are 7 team that could be capable of winning the league. We're getting caught by Liverpool, West Ham and Tottenham and now it might be to late.

I would love him to be the right man having done so mucg for the club. However, his failure to resolve long standing glarring issues with the side make it very had to beleive he is.

We are being left behind and will end up loosing our best players for nothing.

Sadly not.

Nothing but respect for Arsene, for what he did for this club.
But we shouldn't be living off past glory.

The football world changes rapidly.
In the last 5 years alone, the money has increased, the strength of 'smaller' teams has increased, the quality of managers has increased but Arsenal remain the same.

And in a changing world, staying the same is the equivalent of going backwards.

Arsene had the chance, this squad didn't need much.
We got Xhaka in, good, not necessarily a NEED, but he's certainly a good midfielder and adds things we lack there.
Play him next to Ramsey or Elneny and they'll dominate most midfields.

But we needed a striker and we needed a CB, even before injuries.
We went for Vardy, didn't work out.
So where's plan B?
We have so much money and there are so many options. Bacca, Morata, Lacazette, Hernandez, all players that will improve us and we have the money to tempt their respective clubs, bar maybe Madrid.
CB, again, there are options.
Musacchio, Mustafi, Koulibaly, hell even Sunderlands Kone, would improve our squad (though in fairness, with our current situation, Big Dave down the pub would do)

If a player doesn't want to join, that's fine.
But if we're being stingy that's a different story.
I know people will say 'Arsene doesn't want them or he'd of signed them' and that may be true.
I don't want to use the train every day, but it gets me to work, so I have to.

Yes, While i do agree that he has made a few mistakes with not buying players and all us fans seem to agree with what we need as a team i do not get the notion that we are going backwards or being left behind.
His tactics are outdated or he keeps getting beaten by young fresh managers with new ideas. i just don't see it.
3 league title, (yes a while ago)
most successful manager in the fa cup (recently twice)
most consistent top 4 manager (not celebrating but this is the goal for a lot of managers)
None of these so called younger better managers are winning anything or finishing consistently above us.

I believe Arsene has built a good squad here regardless of what people say he has and we're close to being strong competitors i feel. However all that work building this will be undone if we don't get anyone else in. As I said above ozil and Alexis May well look to leave if this is the case and that will set us back so much.

Thanks everyone for responding

my own opinion is it's time to go i have had the same conversation every year i want Arsene to prove me wrong to go into the transfer market and not spend a £100 million on one player but just to complete the jigsaw and if we have to pay a little more so be it we can afford it and that's why we move form Highbury, my frustration is its only ever 2 players and maybe a third to make this team very special its also going into games knowing the tactics as do the other managers and we are easily beaten due to the fact we never change things up playing players in positions that just don't work for them, we won most if not all of our titles under wenger playing 4-4-2 so why not try it out have a plan B just rather then continuing with the same thing game after game.

transfers are such a sore point can you imagine if we had a new CB a new CF and maybe a Mahrez on top of Xhaka and what we have already then we really would be ready and we have the money, but again we go into the season with the same problems and we was promised last year mistakes were made and it wouldn't happen again and here we are

like i said i loved Arsene and respected him but year after year that has disappeared and right now i have no belief we can win the league again loved to be proven wrong and for Arsene to walk out a winner but i can't see that happening.

Agree Gunnerbreal, but as D_ pointed out, not going forward is going backwards.

It doesn't matter if we have the greatest manager in world football in charge, if he doesn't strenghten the team and address needed issue's, than we will not progress.

D16 but that's always the problem, he fails to build a good squad year after year. His squads miss vital elements.

breal, that's because other managers can be sacked for underperforming. they never get a chance to win the trophies wenger has won in the past.

I get you point dags, but i would also say that not going backwards when everybody else id apparently going forwards is still going forwards other wise we would have dropped far lower than we have.

in the last 3 seasons we have won 2 cups and finished 2nd in the league (our highest finish for years) signed 3 world class players, not player that have turned into world class like before but established world class players which we have not done for a very long time

I guess its what people see as under performing, only 1 team can win the league, so should 19 manager be sacked at the end of every season? we have never won champ league, domestic cups we do well in, don't get me wrong i would love to win the league and although i am wenger in i do also believe and hope that he does leave at the end of his contract, as i do feel that we need a change or the whole feeling of the club could drag us down.

however i am of the feeling that once he has gone, we may well find our self out of Europe all together and that's why i feel he is still the right man.

But we will see soon enough i guess and i obviously hope i am wrong.
