Does anyone else feel that with the season basically over, Wenger should just ask what players actually want to play for arsenal. We are a big club with good history and respected all over the world. If the players can't get themselves ramped up to play without an inspiration pep talk then they shouldn't be playing!

Why do companies all over the world have team leaders managers ect if people are all capable of motivating themselves constantly, the ability to motivate others to achieve their best consistently is a very highly sort after commodity which is why the people who can do it well are very highly paid and continuely being offered more money from competitors to join them.
Most people can be motivated if you push the right buttons but very few are capable of constantly motivating themselves without at least some kind of support.
In any industry if the man at the top loses the ability to get the best out of those he's responsible for then a down turn in productivity and quality of product produced is certain to follow and the longer it goes on the more difficult it becomes to change it back again.

I agree with your post 100%. I just feel there are enough motivating factors around the football club to get the players playing properly. Surely not being embarrassed at the hands of palace is motivation enough. If ozil and co are leaving, they're going to have to show the big clubs that they are actually good enough.

I understand what your saying KL mate but sometimes your can't keep the human nature element out of football, when people feel demotivated we just can't seem deliver our best no matter how much we'd like to.

some of our players are working thier notice and we all know what that's like even though you want to leave on a good note it's difficult to find top gear when you know your done with that job.

others just don't think they have been used to the best of their ability while some just don't think the people they work with on a daily basis are pulling thier weight or up to the job so have given up while many if not most think the bloke in charge is making bad decisions that effects their own capabilities to their own job well so again have mentally given up and just going through the motions.

We've all worked under good and bad bosses and we've all worked and carried workmates who aren't up the job or just don't put in the effort they should be the boss let's them get away with it which leads to unrest and a poor working atmosphere.
