I hope Jack Wilshere leaves in the summer. One of the reasons is obviously the injuries but i have other issues with him as well. I don't like the attitude. He seems so immature. I still remember the "what do we think of Tottenham" from 2015. I lost all respect towards him that day and he has done nothing since to change my mind. On top of that he drinks and smokes. Maybe this all could be forgiven if he was our best player but he's not and we're talking about the worst Arsenal midfield in at least 20 years. In this squad he's decent but if we want top four we have to do better. All these negative aspects and the lack of quality make me wonder how on earth some people still consider him a good player. For me he should be the first player out the door. I'd rather keep Mertesacker sitting in the stands for one more season.

Jack is one of those players we need to keep. Reason being he is one of our bright sparks he attacks defenders. His forward play is very good his defending is improving he doesn't make as many rash challenges as before. His temperament i agree with could do with calming down on occasions that comes with age. You can tell arsenal means something to him he has come up through the ranks he fights for every ball unlike others. His one touch passes penetrating the opposition is something not many players can do. He is a fan favourite and barring any injuries a good run in the team we will see the best of him. The first people out the door should be wenger followed by iwobi. How he got a long term contract and are stalling on jacks ill never know.

This is a joke post iceman surely mate? Worst midfielder for 20 years?
I'm not the biggest Jack fan ever but he's far from being the worst midfielder we've had in 20 years.

You have read it wrong I think g62. Worst arsenal midfield in 20 years which is probably right maybe longer.

Ah thanks Sanogo and apologies Iceman for misunderstanding exactly what you were saying mate.
Still think the post was a bit extreme but obviously not quite as extreme as I first thought, if I get someone with half a GCSE to read the post to me properly I might even end up agreeing with it :-)

It is extreme but what can i say, i don't like him at all. All those things i said are real although you can always debate about his football abilities. For me he is the least professionally behaving player we have and i take behaviour very seriously. Remember it's subjective view though, if you like Jack i don't have an issue with it and don't say you are wrong to like him. Maybe you just appreciate his passion and passing ability so much you're willing to overlook his off field actions. I'm not.

I agree with Iceman, let him go. He is always going to have to take up one of the precious two positions in central midfield, and he is neither big enough or strong enough to justify one of those places IMO. He is certainly no DM, and we have much better options at AM. Sadly i also fear that offering him a new contract will probably stop us from going out and getting a CM that we really need, one who will allow the likes of Ozil and Miki to push forward and support the front player (s) whilst being able to protect the back four better. From an attacking perspective I also think he holds on to the ball for far too long. I don't mean the famous one touch too many that gets him injured, but the fact that that one touch too many should have been a pass through to the forward. In just one game at the weekend Miki showed he has a greater understanding with the forwards with the ball being passed early in front of Auby than I have ever seen from Jack. Watch whenever he carries the ball forward, you constantly see the forwards desperately wanting the ball slipped behind the defence, but end up running offside, turning, and comeing back towards the ball because Jack has held on for too long.
