Excellent result last night and it was good to see Welbeck score two and his confidence returning. With Aubameyang and possibly Lacazette as well, it will be interesting to see who starts in the central attacking role against Stoke. I prefer Welbeck played centrally opposed to wide left, but as neither Aubameyang nor Lacazette seem to play wide, I can only foresee Aubameyang playing centrally, Welbeck wide left and Lacazette on the bench.
I was also surprised to hear Wenger bigging up Athletico, so now if we draw them today we start from a position of fear.

I thought it was good to hear Arsene be truthful about Danny's dive and Athletico being the team to avoid.
Were Wigan wrong to accept that City were the team to beat in the fa cup?
Should Wigan have come out with a load of rubbish before playing City about how the two teams were neck and neck in ability?
No one wants to hear Arsene embaress himself and Arsenal by coming out with more tosh that gets the whole football world laughing at Arsene and Arsenal again.
Accepting that Madrid are the team to beat is a true assessment of the situation not a surrender.
Keep up the reality Arsene it really does make you sound more in touch with the modern game.

and the winner of this years cheating diving contest is. Danny Welbeck, take a bow son.

Thank you Nes that's brilliant news. It's really good to see how a blatant piece of cheating by one of our players can make such headlines yet when a Spurs player does the same it hardly gets a mention.
I guess it's what gets people's attention.
An Arsenal player diving is big news a bit like reporting on a total eclipse
While when a Spurs player dives it's like having a headline that reads
IT WILL GET DARK TONIGHT :-)

Let's get this straight! Every right minded football fan is embarrassed when their player dives and hates diving in general. Let's hope Danny gets a bollocking and told not to do again something Poch doesn't do because it leads to your SERIAL divers.

Agree Sussex mate I'd rather see every dive by every player receive a 5 match ban retrospectively by the FA fifa and uafa but until that happens diving will be part of the game, Pires did it Klinsmann did it Rooney did it and the next generation of players will do it too until those that run the game decide they no longer want it in the game.
Actually it might be good if every game between now and next season including all world cup games were won by players conning refs into false decisions, something might actually change then.

Unrealistically it's seems I hold onto the phrase cheats never prosper but evidently they do. Would have no problem with banning players retrospectively for five games first offence then increasing. It would soon stop it's a no brainer! We all know the serial divers Dele Ali, Vardy, Dele Ali, Moses, Dele Ali, Kane, Dele Ali COYG.

Ed,
Sussex said "Bollocking".
🤣🤣.

{Ed001's Note - that's ok so long as they have been shaved and are not all hairy and unwashed.}

Ed 001 hope you're enjoying the apple 🍎 from the Teacher's Pet or Supergrass as I know him! Oh and my bollocks are unshaven but squid clean! COYG Oh think I left Dele Alli off my diving list.

{Ed001's Note - too much info mate!}

I wonder if fans would be so critical if Danny pulled the same trick that won the final in a tight game. Easy to take the moral high ground in a game that we were in total control of. Not condoning it for a second but fans are fickle.

Well said Sussex. totally agree.

Most managers and fans don't mind a bit of diving as long as it's their players doing it, in that situation they call it part of the game but when it's the other way round these same people who call it part of the game suddenly get all moral and want diving stopped :-)
Consistency is what's needed but not from refs but from managers fans players alike, either accept it always or never not as and when it suits.

Thanks NES I assume you are talking about the squid clean bit! AWWW! ;) Sano totally agree but for me I have a gnawing feeling about Owens dive v Argentina and Poch but have a maybe irrational dislike of Rooney who dived to prevent 50 unbeaten! I just prefer to win without cheating if nothing else to prevent the Scots Germans et al mentioning 1966 constantly. We either eradicate it or it's part of football . Me fickle to a point but in the eradicate camp #DIVINGOUT 😂 COYG.

Hi Stoner, poor old Nes.
When he sticks to good old fashioned football gossip he can be quite interesting and make some valid points but when it comes to the wind up, it's not really his thing is it mate :-) he's no Raver or CTR when it comes fishing and dishing :-)
