hi ed25 if you're around i was wondering your take on arteta and if you would take him at everton? i found it quite odd that with everton also looking for a manager he hasn't really been linked to you. if he's an inspired choice for us, i would think he also would be for you. but i expect your board is just maybe not as mental! XD.

{Ed025's Note - i think as a future manager he may fit the bill eden but at this time its a massive gamble, for me he needs to cut his teeth in maybe the championship or even maybe abroad before he can be expected to mount a serious challenge with a massive club like arsenal, would he get the respect from senior players who to be honest could ask him "and whatever have you won?", if he is appointed i can see it going tits up pretty quickly although i hope not as i really like arsenal and loved him as a player...but that does not make him a good manager mate..

i was thinking the same thing, it seems like an odd choice give what seems to of forced thier hand was lack of attendance and the wrong choice could exacerbate that, so it seems taking a risk on a manager a large portion of fans are already convinced will fail seems like an odd step to take to steady the ship! are everton interested in him or anyone else for that matter?

{Ed025's Note - certainly not arteta eden, marco silva looks nailed on mate..

Hello ed025 do you know if arteta is certainly going to be happening or if arsenal might still change their structure?

{Ed025's Note - i dont think its set in stone dags but he is very much of interest to arsenal mate, i think there is more than a good chance he will become the next arsenal manager but i really hope not..

he does, what do you think of him? he seems quite flakey to me.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to like him eden, im not saying he is a world beater but at this stage it would be hard for us to entice the really top coaches and i see him as one of the best of the rest mate..

Personally I wouldn't chose Artetta but no proven manager is going to come in and have such little control in which players he gets to work with.
if Artetta had 5 years experience in Spain champions league football aa a coach and a Europa league trophy under his belt already I doubt very much he'd be keen either.
So our first appointment under our new way of doing things is probably going to have to be a gamble as Allgeri and Nanglesman are currently in to good a position to have to risk their own reputation 100% on the Sven mens choices.
Only someone looking for a chance would be prepared to accept our job under our current system.

What experience has nagelsmann got in champions league? Went out in qualifies and knocked out of europa. I'm not endorsing arteta but if allegri, ancelotti etc don't want to leave their current job or work under the structure we have then the next level of manager would be big Sam or moyes. Would we be happy with that, no way! If arteta gets the job I hope he brings in experienced back room staff and the fans and players give him a chance otherwise we have set ourselves up for a doomed season.

If only he'd been a translater as Jose was at Barcelona before getting his chance.
