Hey eds, none of my posts have been posted on the page so I have to ask this as a comment.
With USA-Canada-Mexico winning the rights to co-host the 2026 World Cup, do all of their countries get automatic qualification to that world cup? If they do, What will FIFA do to do so other deserving teams don't get their chance to play taken away so that the three co-hosts have their three teams qualify for being hosts?

{Ed001's Note - it has not been decided.}

It kind of has been decided in a way gunner because there are 48 teams in the 2026 World Cup rather then 3. So in a way regardless of them being given auto qualification, there will still be more teams able to qualify.

{Ed001's Note - possibly 48, that has not been agreed either.}

45 qualifying spaces opposed to 31 Scotland must fancy their chances :-)
I thought the hosts were voted on by fifa member countries or has that been done away with now? Makes sense if it has.

{Ed002's Note - FIFA's Council vote on the location - and the council represents 36 FAs.}

Oh ok, I just remember all the fuss last time when England bid, it was very high profile with Beckham prince William and all plus the big tv announcement where they award the 2018 and 2022 world cup hosts while this time I've not seen anything about it at all.
I thought maybe after all the trouble and accusations last time round they might have changed how they did things but obviously not if they still had a vote.
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - England bid for this World Cup and were eliminated with practically no support in the first round of voting. Only two bids were entered for 2026 and the USA joint bid recieved 67% of the 200 votes - there is no issue about this at all.}

No I don't think there was an issue or see for a minute why there would be one I was just a little surprised at the lack of media attention about it.
Today on this page is the first I've heard of it and fifa usually make a song and dance about such big announcements.

{Ed002's Note - FIFA did make a song and dance about it last week. The American President sent out a Tweet about it - I am surprised you missed that.}

Yes i did miss that too as I don't use Twitter so wouldn't have caught up with Donald's latest comments :-)
Saw a few pictures of him on TV shows with him and the North Korean leader and another one with Angela Merkel leading what looked like an upset bunch of people bursting into his office as he sat at his desk :-)
Obviously I need to keep up more with the news and what's happening in the world.

{Ed002's Note - You can call foul if the 2026 final is the USA vs North Korea.}

That would be a final to watch :-) all eyes in Kim and Donald as they exchange insults on the big screen throughout the 90 minutes :-)

How come we received no support? Genuinely interested, I don't think we deserve it above anyone else, but surely we have all the infrastructure and stadiums already in place with only a few upgrades needed to mean hosting the world cup should be comparatively easy compared to most countries?

{Ed002's Note - It depends how good the bid was. One bid gets eliminated at each round of bidding until one bidder has a majority. There were bids for 2018 by Russia, a joint Netherlands/Belgium bid, a joint Spain/Portugal bid and a bid from England. England only got two votes out of 22 in the first round and then were eliminated. Russia got the majority required in the second vote.}
