Didnt watch it, how did xhaka and litchensteiner get on tonight? I did read wenger slagging them off on tv. He said litchensteiner was too slow and xhakas positonal sense was poor. Really arsene!

Was he actually? 😂 Seems bizarre after sticking with xhaka so long you would think he would be keen to praise him. I was watching it on a grainy screen with Thai commentary, I haven't a clue what was going on! 😂.

Lichtsteiner struggled in the first half and it was a horror story in all honesty however, what do you expect when you have Neymar and Marcelo running at you with no cover from Shaqiri. He's lazy and didn't help him whatsoever! Second half was a lot better. Xhaka did what he had to do and considering Brazil were mounting on the pressure, he kept composed.

In a fans poll Liechtensteiner was voted 5th best Switzerland player of the starting 11 and Xhaka 9th.
I watched Xhaka closely looking to see what I've missed about him others see, he hit a few decent long balls a couple came off and a couple were unlucky not to come off
His short passing was pretty tidy but he also gave the ball away very cheaply and unnecessarily at times too.
His tackling? To me it's a case of a free kick or non existent as tackling cleanly doesn't seem to be within his game.
I saw nothing last night to suggest he could player in a more attacking position but that maybe because of the role his manager asked him to play, he reminded me of Jack in his season at Bournemouth where he never really went to far forward or to far back he seemed to spend 75% of his time 30 yards either side of the half way line obviously this was under his managers instructions.
Last night wasn't the easiest of matches and it's unfair to judge anyone on one game alone but I doubt very much that if he wasn't already an Arsenal player that anyone would be calling for us to sign him on the strength of last night's performance.
1 down at least 2 more world cup games for Xhaka to change people's views and get the majority to change thier opinion of him.

To be honest gunner, whoever doesn’t like xhaka will never change there mind about him, they won’t give him another chance to win them over, I’ve seen people slay xhaka and praise Iwobi shocking lol.

Fair comment Crybaby mate but I am trying to be as objective and fair as I can towards Xhaka hoping to see something I haven't seen before.
His marks are low in the papers and in the fan poll I've read for last night all putting him in the bottom 3 Swiss players last night.
Although the pain in the Arsenal site claim he wasn't brilliant but he was good last night despite admitting he isn't very mobile and can't tackle they claim that Switzerland accommodated his weaknesses well by putting peple around him to do the running and tackling for him and Emery should learn from that to get the best out of Xhaka, really! Why ? What is that he has to offer that we should get other players to do for him he can't do himself?
Personally I just can't see the pay off apart from the odd long pass and long shot, but I'm trying to see more from him in a Switzerland shirt than I have been able to in an Arsenal shirt to understand other Arsenal fans view of him, I must admit I saw nothing last night to make me think he's worth others having to do more to make up for his weaknesses but that's only 1 of 3 games so maybe I will see more in the next 2 matches from him.
