Ed’s any truth in this loan bull, surly we can’t be that skint.

{Ed002's Note - no idea what you are talking about.

Why don't we wait and see mate, last summer we only had 50 million to spend according to the papers but Torreira and Leno were both 26 million Papa 16 million and Guendouzi 7 million which makes 75 million 50% more than the papers said
Why believe all those rubbish rumours the press pedal when they are so extremely rarely true?
Remember when Artetta was our manager for two weeks before we sacked him sent him back City and brought in Dick :-)

Except this time it came from Emery on a press conference.

How much did we bring in?

We’ve never had huge funds and always been tight - fact.

We’ve not always been penny wise but we normally shop in Poundland.

True SY mate, Macdonald Nicholas Bergkamp and Ozil are the only times I can remember us really pushing the boat out at above normal fees to get what we wanted apposed to value for money who we could get.

I believe that we are currently hamstrung by the rules in respect of increasing the wage bill, following the end of the Wenger/ Gazidis era when we paid huge wages to the likes of Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang. As well as having the likes of Jenkinson still on our wage bill. At the end of the season we will have Ramsey, Cech and Welbeck off our wage bill and I believe the rules state that we can increase the wages by a certain amount each season, £7m is the figure I recall. This probably the reason Ramsey is going as reports were that he wanted £180,000 a week and that figure was possibly too high to justify keeping him.
We have funds coming in the summer from new sponsorship deals, which can be spent on signing players. Hence, why we are reportedly trying to arrange loan deals, presumably with the signings being made permanent in the summer. This type of negotiation is clearly more tricky, so I don't expect more than one or two signings, possibly as we get close to the end of this window. With all, bar three long term injured players back in training, I am less concerned, particularly in defence where we were running out of players. I would like to us sign one or two players for the '3' in Emery's favoured 4-2-3-1 formation, which I believe is the weakest part of the team, as none of the players who play ther have any defensive ability. Banega would be a decent signing and Carrasco is a player I have always liked.

Ed002 emery has come out on sky sports and said we can only loan players this window.

It was Emery who said we had no money 62, not the press. 6th richest club in the world and we’re skint. 🙄.

Cheers Stoner mate, in that case it's pretty bizarre situation.
Was there any elaboration as to why or is that simply it :-)
Did no question him on it?

Judging from reports, it is to do with FFP and/ or PL rules, and hence we will not be in funds until the summer when new sponsorship deals kick in and rules relating to increased spending on wages are also a concern. Hence why we are attempting to sign Denis Suarez on a loan, being made a permanent signing in the summer.

Personally i think it’s shocking, we will never win the title or come anywhere near challenging if we carry on the way we are, I find myself woundering why I even bother with this club that I’ve supported 38 years makes me sick KRONKE OUT!

On the bright side Welsh, we are in transition from the Arsenal board/ Arsene years that were loosing ground each season to the Arsenal board/ Dick and Co years that hasn't really had a chance to do anything yet.
I understand why people gave up on the club before change happend simply because we kept repeating what wasn't working season after season but now we are trying something new surely 3 years is a minimum amount of time before we can decide whether it's working or not mate.

Although i suspect we don't have much cash to spend, even if we did, only a fool would announce this to the world. Telling all you have £100m to spend on transfers would be like playing a game of poker with your cards held the wrong way round. These comments may well just be part of the game of getting he best deal on a current negotiation?
