Steve,

Just to bring the discussion yesterday back to the top of the page as I note you didn't answer.

If, as you started to talk about our form in the Premier League I think it would be fair to say 2018 was, like I said earlier, an unfair comparison, fan protests, players not really turning up and Wenger announcing he was leaving.

Prior to that;

2017 - 75pts
2016 - 71pts
2015 - 75pts
2014 - 79pts

Did Wenger have Sokratis, Torreira, Leno, Lacazette, Aubameyang, Kolasinac or Guendouzi.

How close is Emery going to get to Wengers genuinely poorest season of 71pts.

So are we actually playing better football or defending any better than we did in those previous seasons that it would far fairer to compare and bare in mind, in your opinion Wenger was a busted flush in those seasons so in fact any of those totals should be easy to beat.

I realise I'm bringing the past into this but you are indicating there is an improvement, but an improvement on a farcical final season for Wenger.

Stoner every member brings up the past when we lose mate lol and blames other people for poor tactics and team selections.

Stoner,

your argument about Wenger not having the players you mentioned is somewhat weakened by the fact that every other team in the premier league also strengthens their squads! Its also worth mentioning that some players bought by Wenger towards the end of his era were bought with a reputation and failed to live up to it under his management (e. g Xhaka, Mustafi.

In my personal opinion we will get 9/ 12 remaining points, giving us 75. This should give us enough to get top 4 given both Man Utds and Chelseas poor form (plus they have to play each other which will hopefully be a draw and Man Utd have to play citeh)

Colney mate,

What am I missing, what about this season isn’t a mirror image of the last god knows how many.

He’s just dishing up the same old same old no matter whose stronger, weaker, got a new manager or never bought a new player ala Spurs.

What’s different?

With our alleged best players playing during a 22 game unbeaten run we were still bloody hopeless at defending exactly as we’ve been bloody hopeless for years.

Stoner we are and have been hopeless with certain players, we have been better with better players. The defence is a problem but its a player problem. Look at our games when we have had soc and kos in situ and look when they haven't. There is a world of difference.
