Gunners, how big of an offer from Barcelona do you think it would take for us to part with Lacazette this summer?

Obviously would hate to see him leave as he has been one of best and most improved players this season but with our current financial situation and the rebuilding job on our hands every player has their price.

For me, while I understand the argument that in order to be a top club we have to stop losing top players, I think we have to be realistic and seriously consider anything over £65/ 70m as arguably we'd be better of reinvesting in other areas of the team. Interested to here others thoughts.

Extremely worrying as he will be extremely difficult to replace. However, our policy of not allowing contracts to run down will be severely tested.
A top forward such as Lacazette at only 27 years of age must be worth £100m in today’s crazy market.

It's a catch 22 situation because if Lacasette wants out we have little choice but to cash in at the highest possible price we can get but without Lacasette and Pea this season where would we be?
We need money to reinvest and if Lacasette or Pea go it's not as simple as trying to replace like for like, we need to replace and strengthen elsewhere also with any big fee we get.
Unfortunately it's not even as simple as just spending becuase with or without Lacasette we have to get much much more out of what we have already for any spending to make any significant difference.
We can't sign 22 new improved players, 3 or 4 would be a fantastic summer but in order for them to have the desired effect there is no escaping we need to get a lot more from our existing squad than what we've got from them last season or from the previous 10 seasons too.

Would send out all the wrong signals. Selling one of the few players who actually puts a shift in every game.

I am sure Abua would want to leave also if he was sold.

Lacca and Auba should be kept and the team built around them.

I agree Spanner but if they wanted out then we'd be fools to keep them against their wishes rather than take the highest possible price and reinvest it, the last things we need is for their form and value to drop and then just run down their contracts.
If push comes to shove we need to do things better than we have in the past if the future is to be better.

Need to keep them the two up top have been our most consistent performers, just sends out the wrong signal if we sell now when we need to strengthen. A few key good signings at the back and in midfield will make a big difference and get us closer to to the top 2. We can score goals no issues 72 Scored so we just need to re-balance the sqaud better to shore up defensivly.

Sell if he wants to leave, but if we let it get to the stage where players don't want to be at Arsenal when a bid comes in, we've failed already. What I mean is this: the club needs to focus on building a mission where the plan is clear and every player feels that they will play a part.

Hate to say it but look at Spurs or Liverpool - they've retained players like Kane, Eriksen, Salah, etc. because of good management and a clear vision, not by retaining them against their will.

Totally agree with that Wire mate, you can buy a players signature but not their heart and if the heart isn't in it what's the point?
Pogba is a great example as is Sanchez with us, Alexis was fantastic for us for 3 seasons but he lost heart at Arsenal and we lost 60 million for the pleasure of half a seasons half hearted service.
If a player is performing and 100% and wants to be with why sell him unless it's at an offer no one could refuse but once a player has had his head turned or has simply lost heart with his current club it's foolish to retain them but not their passion.
People slate Sanchez but for 3 seasons he consistently gave more than plenty of others have ever ganlve even occasionally.

If we mean business next season we should keep our best players and build around them, strength where is needed, get in a best of a CB and a decent CM along with a winger and we have a good core for next season.
Also winning the EL will be massive in keeping our best players as they will finish the season on a high and have some optimism for next season.
