If we could spend 1.5bn like city I am sure we could - still possible but not with 40m budget and a weak squad and Emery at the Helm. Not dissing Emery but he’s not good enough to bridge that gap

We need a complete rebuild and I still believe you can win with kids - require some big decisions by the owners if not then we have to wait for financial fairness.

Yes we can but it will need lots of outside investment from the owners to do it something they have not done up to now. It not just about improving our squad but also keeping hold of the best players aswell and the longer we go without champions league the harder that will get, and that must be the first step to get to point were we are at least in top4 every season again. We will never challenge I feel by just spending what we earn and trying to keep in profit because we always be a few steps behind even when Emery gets the squad he finally wants as City will keep spending big every transfer window and still be too far ahead. We have to break the rules as if you can't beat them you have to join them.

The same could be asked of United Mysb mate, the answer in my opinion is yes to both us and United competing and wining again.
Who'd have thought in May 2004 that Arsenes Arsenal would never win another title and City would have been in the 2nd or 3rd tier of English football when we were the invincibles.
If money was all it took why didn't big Ron win the title with United and why didn't Macinni Pelgeni Hughes get close to what Pep has done and why have United struggle without Fergie despite spending an absolute fortune!
Peps Barcelona made runaway premier league champions Manchester United look like school boys in the 2008 champions league final and his City side are now doing the same in the premier league to many many sides.

The biggest common denominator between Barcelona then and city now is fantastic work rate and great great coaching which are far outweighs money as many others before Pep have demonstrated repeatedly over the years.

How many of these didn’t spend loads of money and then tell me the exception.

2018/ 19 Manchester City
2017/ 18 Manchester City
2016/ 17 Chelsea
2015/ 16 Leicester City
2014/ 15 Chelsea
2013/ 14 Manchester City
2012/ 13 Manchester United
2011/ 12 Manchester City
2010/ 11 Manchester United
2009/ 10 Chelsea

Then tell me how City and Chelsea did before their sugar daddy injection.

Leicester 13/ 14
Liverpool got 97 points while not spending a fortune above what they recouped in sales.
No one is saying it's not easier with loads of money just that it's not impossible either and to simply dismiss this City with 198 points in 2 seasons and 5/ 6 domestic trophies in the past 2 seasons also as purely buying the title is being in denial.
It can be argued it's more difficult to manage and motivate lots of big name players and egos in one club but this City side work like no other premier league team I've seen consistently almost each and every week, retaining a title is really tough on its own but to retain it at such a high level of points and do a domestic clean sweep to me at least is extremely impressive.

Each club has to make the most of what means they have at thier disposal and I'd say City Liverpool Wolves Palace and Watford done that this season while most of the rest simply haven't.
Getting the most out of what you have and getting the players you have to perform at thier individual and collective best is an excellent place to start no matter if your Manchester United or Macclesfield Town.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool spent £110M more in transfer fees than they received, plus £45M in agent fees.}

110 million more than they recovered in sales on fees alone excluding agents fees Ed002?

Arsenal exceeded that with Xhaka Mustafi Ozil Welbeck

United exceeded that with Falco and De Maria

It's not always what you've got but how you use it

When your getting the absolute most out of what you have already is the time to look at why your not competing with the best but if you ain't getting the best out of what you already have then moaning about how unfair things are and what others have that you don't isn't likely to improve your own situation in the near or even distant future.

{Ed002's Note - My point was that what you wrote was palpable nonsense.}
