I think the new handball rule is far too black and white although I appreciate the reason for its introduction as it removes the need for interpretation, it either is or isn't hand ball simple.
But along with a player being off side because his finger nail is just ahead of play it's just too clinical in the pursuit of perfection in a game that has always been fueld by human excellence and human error in equal measure.

I’m still not sure as to that as well g62. In my opinion it should be based on leg position. You could have some with feet a good foot onside pointing to where he wants it played and his arm could be offside. You don’t gain an advantage unless your feet or more your centre of gravity is further forward than the last defender.

Well said, I agree.
VAR should only be used for the most excessive of missed calls.

Absolutely lads, I'd much rather see it implemented to stop the diving and general deliberate conning of a ref than to rule out goals like city and Wolves goals at the weekend.
Black and white hard fast rules maybe work out fair for everyone but it does rob the game of of such much more than it gives back in my opinion, imagine if every time we all failed to indicate or drove in the middle Lane of a motorway when no overtaking we all got 3 points on our licence? Yes the law would be upheld 100%,100% of the time but the roads would be empty, bar driverless cars that is :-)

Don’t get me started on middle lane hoggers 62. One of my hates! Our motorways would be less congested and traffic would flow much more smoothly if people could drive properly and considerately.
