Arsenal fans I think miki could be a top player for you. I think he'll end up up being one of those top players that mouriniho puts to the side because they don't suit his style but flourishes as soon as they leave i.e de Bruyne etc.

My mate who is an arsenal fan who watches dortmund five or six times a year. He says it is cheaper to have a day out watching them than it is arsenal. When you buy a ticket you get free transport as well around dortmund all for about £30. That and cheap airfare with a budget airline, cheap beer, makes it a cheap jolly. He says auba is a proper team player with a great attitude and he is as strong as an ox. He thinks he can play various roles and is really exited. That will do for me.

That's what I like to hear. I never pay too much attention to pundits and media on a player. Always fans that watch them on a regular basis know their true value.

D, we just need to get him now.

{Ed033's Note - Ah, but is he as strong as the Ox? 😋

Sounds good.
We can keep him for 2 years, than sell him to Utd for when Sanchez retires.

Aubameyang transfer will be completed on or before Wednesday. Giroud's reluctance to move midway through the season will prove decisive. He might be offered to Dortmund on loan though.

Arsenal are after a cb and a cdm preferable both in jan but if not in the summer. There may well be others more likely but two cbs I'm told the club are looking at is rugani at Juve and Evans. Two cdm's we are looking at are Danilo peirrera at Porto and Jorginho at Napoli. Not too sure which will happen but I've been told by a youth coach at the club that these players have been looked at. Fingers crossed for Danilo as I believe he is exactly the sort of cdm we need and at about 20 mill for a 26 year old would be good value. Jorginho is also a very good midfielder.

Hi Eds,

I just wondered if we are interested in signing Richarlison?

If reports are to be believed, our interest in Malcolm is dwindling. Could you explain why this is please?

Cheers for all the great work.

From one Ed to another.

{Ed002's Note - (a) The interest in Richarlson is limited to a watching brief - he can get game time and experience at Watford which he wouldn't get elsewhere. He needs that before a move. (b) The problem with Malcom is the price his agents told the interested sides that Bordeaux would demand. They would like lots of your English pounds Eddy.}

I wish Mikhi well at Arsenal. I think he's a very good player, just hasn't worked for him, I don't think he suits Jose' style tbh. But he is a good player and I think he'll do very well in your side. That said I think we've done very well out of it too, bringing in one of the best in the league, he'll improve us no end.

Bear with me for a longish post. Under the circumstances, with Alexis never putting in the effort that made him a valuable purchase in the first place, we needed to get rid of him and fast. Mkhi is obviously not as good a player when Alexis is at his best and not as much a goal threat, but in the last year or so for me it's been almost better not even having Alexis on the pitch.

So, that leaves us with Mkhi. I think his talent was obvious to everyone at Dortmund but there were noted attitude problems - whether his own fault or Tuchel's, it's hard to tell, but Wenger is known for his legendary trust in players (for good or ill) . This makes it a better bet that Mkhi will succeed with us compared to with United, so I think we'll see a much better player than we saw at OT.

Last, Alexis is 'worth' more I think to most neutrals and you definitely need a goal threat as Lukaku is not a great striker and under the circumstances, for us to get a 35m player in Mkhi for a man who was going to leave on a free in 5 months is great business. I think despite the misery of losing one of our best players, we are getting what we need - a direct, clever playmaker who can link up with Ozil and feed Lacazette. United get what they need too, someone who can play all across the front 3 and provide link-up, creativity, and goal threat. Dunno if we should have strengthened United who we will be competing with for 4th, but Mkhi could more than make up for it. We'll see. Best of luck for the season mate.

Hello Eds, Any further news on Aubameyang? BVB keep saying Arsenal are yet to even make contact. Is this true?

{Ed002's Note - There are representatives of Dortmund in London today and they met with another side this morning - and I don’t know when that will finish. Perhaps they will have time to talk to Arsenal later today - at least one will not be staying over as he has a meeting elsewhere later. So we will see but you need to be sit on your hands for a while more.}

Hopefully meeting with another side regarding a different player. Appreciate the transfer process isn't simple but its more and more speculation rather than fact! Seems as though he is happy to make the move.

If arsenal get the auba deal done do you think that arsenal will try and accommodate laca and auba in starting 11 or will one be competition for the other with talks of Giroud on his way?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Who’s the other team after him and who do you think will get him, this isn’t what is arsenal fans like to hear another one bites the dust.

If there was another team in for him they were meeting with the reps it would of been picked up by official sky sources surely? And why would they not have made time for Arsenal first. Doesn't make sense that but yes, it does seem odd and perhaps we are just getting our hopes up ha!

I find it insane Chelsea ain’t looking at auba. He’s exactly what they need. And you could play Morata and auba. If sky’s to be believed they are looking at crouch and Carrol? Insane when they have Morata.

Were they meeting representatives about Aubameyang? Thanks for the info ED!

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant but it is very tough to find a bidder for the player. Arsenal should get a free run at him.}

Hi ED002, do you think they're has been talks between AFC and Dortmund with regards to Aubameyang or is it all media talk, as it's stating by certain people contract terms are all agreed.

{Ed002's Note - Please read the first answer.}

Ed 02. With welbeck having only 18 months left on his contract, i think. Do you know wether he will be sold this January or offered a new contract. Rumour that he may be off loaded but surely another replacement for him isn't on the cards. Is it? Thanks for any info.

{Ed002's Note - You are right about the 18 months Steve and he is somewhere down the list of potential strikers for Besiktas (ironically Giroud was originally top of their list). However, I can't see Arsenal letting Welbeck leave if Giroud were to move. If Giroud stays then perhaps Welbeck will leave later in the window - but that won't suit Besiktas who have a pressing need for a solution.}

it's strange ed, I don't understand why year after year, big british players are linked with teams abroad but they always end up staying here. Is it generally the players refusing to move or are British teams seen as more difficult to negotiate with etc?

I like Danny a lot, but it looks like at 27 he'll never really add finishing to his repertoire. Much rather we kept Giroud (though I suspect it will be the other way around due to age and desire to start at the WC for France)

{Ed001's Note - it is because they are not good enough and there is little genuine interest until the current crop of youth players.}

I don’t rate Welbeck at all, him and Iwobi need to off loaded soon as possible.

Anyone know if Aubameyang agent has flown to London? A few rumours around suggesting he’s in London.

I think maybe he was recently on some other engagement.

Hi Eds,

With Coquelin going is there any interest in any defensive midfielders at the moment? I think Xhaka is decent but if he gets injured we don't have any defensive cover.

Not really seen any rumours as of yet. Still pains me we never went near Matic in the summer!

Cheers,
Daz.

{Ed002's Note - Jorginho but he would not be available until the summer and Steven N'Zonzi but that is going nowhere right now.}

We definitely ned a proper DM still as Xhaka is pretty poor defensivily like all our currnet senior midfielers at tracking oppostion runners. Maitland-Niles may be a option there but he is still young and
un-proven in such a position.

Xhaka isn't anywhere close to decent, he's either invisible or a liability.

Xhaka is an exceptional passer of the ball for 90% of the time, but is usually good for one or two major errors that cause us to concede a goal. I still think he can turn it around, but it's a gamble that is not paying off. Would rather have Wilshere and Ramsey with a DM in a 3 man mid at this stage.

I always thought Jorginho was a potential Santi replacement? We need a destroyer of worlds protecting our back 4!
