Hey eds is the possibility of us getting carvahlo out the window after the recent reports Lisbon don't want to let go of him or is it a media stunt to raise the amount of money they may receive for him?
{Ed002's Note - The situation is they value their players very highly - and once there is interest from a club like Arsenal they will want the best they can get or they will hold on to him for a year or two more.}

Eds i'm hearing wenger has run out of time and options and is preparing a desperate last ditch bid to re sign kim kallstom, any truth in this seems legit ;)

eds please tell me Debuchy to Arsenal is not true, the lack of ambition shown with that signing would be awful.
{Ed027's Note - seems the interest is real. Surely you don't want us to sign a young right back which would effectively ruin Jenko and Bellerin? Debuchy has already replaced Sagna for country for the past few years and is proven in the PL
1.) Buying Debuchy actually to me is proof we are shooting for title. Debuchy is experienced and already better than Sagna. Aurier maybe turn out to be a better players in 4 to 5 years but right now Debuchy is a better option.
2.) Would be a quality signing, a player that is keeping Sagna out of the French starting line up.
3.) I would be quite pleased with Debuchy. Always thought he was too good for NUFC (sorry geordies).
Experienced, knows the league, etc.
With Aurier you could get Sagna, you could get Eboue.
Bigger concern is Vermaelen. Strongly against selling him at all let alone ot Man Utd. It disrupts our defence too much to let both players go.
Particularly, when our 2 starting CBs are not getting much rest over the summer. One early injury and we are in trouble.
4.) I like Jenko/Bellerin but what are the odds they actually become world class? Jenko is already older than Aurier and Aurier is clearly far far superior.
If we want to compete with the best we need the best, Aurier could become something seriously special here & I'm gutted that it looks like we're missing out.
Bellerin could still develop, he could play in FA/Carling cup games as well as start when Aurier gets injured and has to leave for African cup of nations.
5.) I suppose debuchy would be a decent signing, imo I don't really rate jenkinson so I don't see him as a long term replacement for sagna, although I do admire his passion, but bellerin I haven't seen much of so if he will be as good as you see he is a player like debuchy would be ok I suppose not to hold him back

Eds or someone please tell me is fabregas actually looking like he is going to chelsea because I don't believe this rubbish for one minute.
{Ed025's Note - they are certainly favourites AFC, but nothing is set in stone just yet mate..
1.) So what if he goes to chelsea, our midfield is arguably pound for pound the best in the league, we don't need a player who thinks they are guaranteed a 1st team place because they are special. I would prefer he stay away from competitors for loyalty and to protect me from feeling cheated but truth is we need honest competition for places and I never gave my heart to him anyway I was never a big fan!
Get a right back FAST get some competition for the keeper and squeeze in a world class striker fox-in-the-box job done. Yeah we would love a good ball-winning midfielder but let's face it, since yaya toure reinvented that position, everyone else's game look like a girls attempt at throwing a ball
2.) Can never have too much quality. Would be fabregasted if we weren't interested, he's bloody world class
Strength in depth is something we've almost never had to a significant degree and now we're turning down the chance for it? No chance. Shouldn't even affect our signing a top level striker and right back, with the dosh Wenger's supposed to have at his disposal.
Absolute madness for me. Still think he'll remain at barca another season.
3.) Hehe, just remember we were favourites to sign higuain last year ;)
4.) Pound for pound the best in the league? Toure, Fernandiho, Nasri, Silva, Milner, Javi Garcia, Rodwell + youth players vs Ozil, Rambo, Jack, Flamini, Rosicky, Arteta, (Diaby kind of) + youth players sorry mate don't know if I agree with that. I agree though we don't need Cesc, but if we don't get him then we better be getting Pogba or someone equally as Viera esque and a worldy striker like Benzema or maybe even Draxler to play left wing/striker? Wenger will need to pull another Ozil to keep the fans happy after all the bs about Cesc over the last few years!

if we don't sign a marquee defender like Hummels and a cdm this club is going to deteriorate further and further because after saturday just shows defensively we are apauling. so seen as though we haven't go a hope in hell of getting a player like that we've got to get used to europa league from now if we're lucky, because with this board owner and manager we haven't got a chance.

After tonights performance, I think its clear its time for a squad overhaul.
The squad has been crying out for a backbone since viera left, and look what happend tonight the tactical incompetence was just embarrasing. Arteta had a decent game, but is just not consistantly good enough, flamini is just a joke, mertesacker shows no leadership and a weak link, I know monreal was out of position but he lacks fundamental defensive skills that can be displayed by 5 year olds, cazorla is slow and every single delivery into the box he makes is poor and is cleared, podolski and rosicky lacked any desire to fight to the end despite only coming on 5 mins before and were just shocking. along with wengers tactical incompetence it cost the 3 points, and these players need to be cleared from the squad as soon as possible. as for the peopel saying wenger out, take a look at what the man has done for the club he has built a stable successful team, ik tactically he is making poor decisions, but the players are the real problem, they have all let the fans down ( apart from sanchez)
1.) The biggest overhaul we need - and I'm not suggesting we don't need two defensive midfielders and two centre halves - is at owner, board and manager level.
I'm sick of 'em all.

whoever is watching the game tonight can surely see we are crying out for a cdm they just run poast arteta like he's not there and it restricts the creativity of other players who have to constantly make up for him not doing his job.
1.) In a bad night for all he was the pitts of it all really. He was just totally anialated. He just has not got the legs more than anything to cope in that position and even on the ball he is too slow pounderous in possesion. Wenger has somehow made him captain so he will now loss face if he drops him.
We need proper Dm desperate in January and until then we will have to make do with Flamini, Arteta has to be dropped. This especially with our fullbacks so attacking the DM position is even more vital. Someone with pace, stamina and power, a beast we need.
2.) Exactly, he's made our worst player on the pitch captain, its just so ridiculous his incompetence and tactical naivety are almost unbelievable, makes me doubt whether he is still the man for the job when blatent problems like this are never rectified.

Kroenke is more to blame than wenger. i'm not happy with what wenger does all the time but the lack passion and ambition at the top is our main problem, the club is run too much like a business. i'd keep wenger, look what happened to utd when fergie went.

Both ozil and sanchez were in the summer though welsh that's the point he is making, look at our history in january over the last few years, last year especially all we got was kallstrom, year before was nacho monreal expect no better than if anything at all.

The problem stems from higher up than wenger. its those kroenke and gazidis that have ruined this great club, don't blame wenger he's made a few mistakes but its not totally his fault we've had some bad rsults
Cazorla is not good enough aswell, poldi is poor along with ramsey having a bad game and wenger being tactically inept cost us
