This is not a"my friend is a friend of the groundsman's dog story", but speaking to a group of fellow gooners at work yesterday, they reckon that Fellaini is a cert, but Martinez will ask for Arteta as part of the deal.
Has anyone else heard this?

Braintreegooner

1.) Hi mate, I have not heard this but I had heard that if we get Fellaini then Martinez wants Coquelin on loan?

Hard to know so I didn't bother sharing. Coquelin makes up the quota for homegrown players I think, but in honesty I believe he could be angling for a move away from the club after 2 disappointing years as a senior player, and might be used in a deal for Grenier. Hard to say. We've got a lot of players we can use for bargaining, wouldn't surprise me at all if Martinez goes for a deal like that. I'm not convinced we'd let Arteta go to anyone though!

2.) I hears Martinez was desperate for Andre Santos as cover in case Leighton Baines loses form.
I wish

What a great weekend to be a gooner, 3-0 at the Villa and all the competition dropping points, even lil old spurs getting beat by the Baggies.Brilliant! COYG

I know Arteta was vice captain last season, but my vote for captain would have gone to Per.
This looks like another captain who will leave very soon.
Now that I have got that off my chest, I thought we played well yesterday, looking forward to a great 2014/2015 season.COYG

So Arteta is captain? Or just because Per was still out he was captain for one game?

In my opinion, if Flamini is fit, he should start every game, by the time he came on yesterday, it was too late.

Wow, We are only Wigan away from a cup final, we are not out of the CL yet, and a result at the Lane in the weekend would just about end the spurs dreams of forth place.
We have probably had the hardest journey in the FA Cup, with spurs, Liverpool and Everton well beaten.
I think the PL title is going to go all the way to the end, and hopefully we will be one of the contenders.
I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now, we are improving every year, and now that we have some cash to spend, those losers at the Lane will have to hide in our shadow for some time to come.Good luck to the lads on Tuesday.COYG

1.) Im not too worried about spurs. now or long term. I don't obsess with them. they gave us a run last year, but this year they have gone backwards, and by the end of the season, they will lose lloris and vertongen.

daniel levy may get them 100 million for the two players, but beyond that they will continue to stutter.

liverpool are the new powerhouse team, if they keep building. but at the same time, they need to add depth or they will take a step back too.

chelsea and city will only get stronger.

we have depth in certain areas, but lack in some very obvious departments.

Im not entirely sure what's happening with the draxler situation, but we need to bring some world class talent to give us a much needed boost.

in regards to morata for the crazy money being banded about, Madrid can keep him.

2 wins to pick a trophy and for me that will do for a start. we just need to add belief in this squad after the last cup fumble. and we will be roaring again.

and to van persie, if anyone knows him. you my friend have no class. i'd rather be mates with an Ex con then hear about your boring sad life. muppet.

I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the game yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it(great atmosphere too).
I would just like to say, that Yaya Sanogo is a better attacking option than Bendtner already.
I saw the highlights of the game last night, but they didn't show how much hard work the young lad put in.
Good team performance, hope this confidence carries us through to the Bayern game.COYG

You're joking!
Ozil has had a mixed season, but he will come through.
Ozil over Pogba, every time.

I think it is more likely that Bendtner will get a few games before the january window.

Agree with Huddie 100%, we would never be in the situation we are now if DD was still doing the negotiations.

Theres nothing sweet about Chamakh, Pardew is too clever to want him.

Watching him play against Coventry last season, I'm sure he was wasted.

I don't think Danny Boy has come to us to play second fiddle to Giroud, once he is fit again.
Welbeck has come here to get regular playing time, and to be honest, by the time we get to the new year, with Walcott back playing as well, Giroud could find it hard to get a full 90 mins.
Not sure if Welbeck and Giroud would work together though.
Really excited about Welbeck, he could be a massive player for us now, and the future.
Wish I could be at the game on saturday, but couldn't get a ticket.COYG

Welbeck is 100% improvement on Sanogo.

Agree 100%, realistically we were never going to bring the likes of Falcao to the Emirates, he is on stupid money, and injury prone.
Welbeck may not be the big name we were all hoping for, but with the signing of Alexis Sanchez and the return of Walcott soon, I think Welbeck will fit in very well.
