We are looking good to retain our fourth place trophy!

Darrentampa

1.) 05 May 2016 11:01:51
Hate to rain on your (4th place trophy) parade Darrentampa but a fundamental part of being able to retain something is holding it in the first place. Difficult given that we finished 3rd last year. I suspect you've been suckered in by the misconception peddled by the media that we finish 4th every year.

I am hoping for a silver lining. IS there any logic behind what Wenger has done this offseason. let's all these guys wait until the last few days of the window and now he is agreeing to sell them, leaves us no time for replacements.

Do the prices go down on the last day, more options become available? It just makes no sense but I guess when your a bargain shopper you see what scraps are left and get a bargain price.

My wishes: Mahrez definite upgrade to Ox.
Seri or N'Zonzi jeez 25-36 million get one of them.
Get a Center back Van Dijk this has no shot of happening but we need someone.
DO not sell Mustafi.

Off season lol. You do make me laugh DT. Maybe we might buy some good soccer ball players to take is into the first quarter 🤣 I'm only kidding.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 17:28:13
with the name Sanogo you can't laugh at anyone.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 18:03:43
Haha - Sanogo, you got to give Daz that one 😄.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 20:31:31
I was born in London my dad grew up right near Highbury but I have been in the States since i was 3. What do you call the time off between seasons Sanogo? I wish we could buy some good ball players, Wenger must have sepnt all the money on good french wine.

Up with the Hammers! Where is raver no trophies for second place.

Darrentampa

1.) 06 May 2017 07:05:55
Raver has been spotted sobbing his beady eyes out in his mum's rusty Subaru, repeating 'the pain at the lane just goes on, 1961, 1961".

2.) 06 May 2017 10:33:41
The pain at the lane lol your club is dreadful R. G. trailing spurs by 17 points, crap players, you got your smashed by us yet, again this season and you are not in the champions league lol. I had to laugh at your desperation post yesterday if Utd win the Europa league can we get a place in the champions league ha ha. Mind that huge gap R. G. and send your love to your wife from the raver.

3.) 06 May 2017 11:29:56
Raver, I thoroughly enjoyed watching West Ham beat you and end any realistic faint hope of actually winning the title for the first time this century. There is no prize for coming second, nor for qualifying for the CL, nor for finishing above Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years and it's interesting that when Chelsea win the title, the last two PL Champions will have won it in a season when they were not in the CL. To think that Arsenal could actually win a trophy, whilst the Toot's trophy room will remain empty. Rumours are that the rests on the Toot have managed to squeeze in an extra 500 seats is down to the fact that have scrapped the need for a trophy room in the new stadium plans. As you well know raver, the pain at the lane just goes on. 1961 and waiting, 56 long years.

4.) 06 May 2017 12:14:17
The boring one speaks again, what prizes have you got to brag about R. G., 6 th in the league no European football and you are over the moon with that lol. Nobody at, Arsenal would get a game at spurs even all your ex players said so. Top players in the summer will want to play in the champions league so that means no top players coming to Arsenal. There us a big prize for finishing 6th R. G. you'll be playing spursday night football lol. I thoroughly enjoyed beating you boys yet again last week R. G.

5.) 06 May 2017 12:53:56
Massive bite by raver hahahaha.

6.) 06 May 2017 13:01:01
Man city winning has cheered me up, R. G. looks like no champions league football this year lol, don't worry I'll keep your bed warm with Mrs. rg on Thursday nights.

7.) 06 May 2017 13:15:31
Raver, come on prove you are not a coward and a loser, list the trophies won by the toot during your life. Zero. Wenger has won more league titles than toot have in their entire history, now that's embarrassing. My greatest memories of the lane were lifting the title their twice, now that's embarrassing. Even in a poor season by our standards we have reached the FA Cup final. A new stadium withot a trophy! Now that's embarrassing. Fortunately I chose to be born a gooner, not a loser from the lane, that stalks an Arsenal site, now that's embarrassing.

8.) 06 May 2017 13:19:23
Raver you do make me laugh while I will concede Spurs have a better team at the moment it means very little if you have nothing to show for it Spurs remind me of the England team of 10 years ago all the talent but no trophies 😂.

9.) 06 May 2017 13:49:52
Jaygun, don't flatter the toot, I don't believe they have a better team than us. They merely took advantage of playing in a dump of a ground that was the worst in the PL. They won the same amount of away matches as us, 7. They went out of all the cups in earlier round than us. They have a manager that has won nothing and players that have won nothing. We have a manager that has won many trophies and players that have won trophies including the World Cup. Arsenal have had a difficult season with the uncertainty caused by Wenger. Indeed, you only have to look at Chelsea to see a squad transformed under a different manager. We have many top players: Bellerin, Kos, Mus, Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Welbeck, etc.

{Ed001's Note - Welbeck a top player? You need help if you really believe that!}

10.) 07 May 2017 15:51:25
all them players he mentioned apart from Sanchez are average at best. He says spurs benefitted from playing at a dump is baffling, well Arsenal should be top of the league because they play at a library lol.

30 Mar 2017 19:46:08
I will be coming from Tampa Florida for the next two games i will advise Kroenke and Wenger to get to stepping. Maybe my presence can change our play. Up with the Gunners!

16 Mar 2017 14:38:50
This about sums it up, and why Alexis will be on his way as well. Because he desperately wants to win trophies.

Say what you like about RVP the truth hurts!

"This was a meeting about the club's future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.

"I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days.

"Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don't want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

1.) 16 Mar 2017 19:11:15
We couldn't hang on to our best players of the last decade because we didn't match thier on the field ambition and we can't hang onto our current best players for the same reason, so what player with good options would join us this summer?
Who is going to think they can achieve with Arsenal what so many good players have tried and failed to do?
Plenty of names will be thrown about who might be a good replacement for Sanchez but realistically who could we attract?

2.) 16 Mar 2017 19:27:43
He was spot on tbh id love a peak rvp up top now.

3.) 17 Mar 2017 02:43:57
I know a lot will disagree but I always felt RVP was unfairly treated by Arsenal fans after he left.
Also he was a player of character who did not go missing in big games and often could change the momentum of a game with individual brilliance.
He single handedly got us to 3rd position in his last year.
If he had had a better fitness record in his earlier years I thibk we would have won the title 1 or 2 times more than we did.

4.) 17 Mar 2017 07:46:13
People had the ump with rvp becsuse he had 1 good season and left when we kept through his injuries.

5.) 17 Mar 2017 19:39:21
I agree totally Stephen I was one of those people who felt that way at the time and for a while afterwards too but I've changed my mind since.
RVP was what 29 at the time? Utd and Fergie could offer him something Arsenal couldn't the chance to compete for the games top prizes.
Looking back it's impossible to argue the decision he made wasn't the right one as he won a premier league in his first season after leaving us while we are as far away from doing that now as we were but back them.
Why should players like RVP Sanchez Ozil stick with a club that sees 4th place as a trophy and success when clubs who consider coming second as failure want them ?
The very best players at clubs like Southampton Stoke and Sunderland leave to join clubs like Arsenal because they want the chance to play in the champions league while the very players at Arsenal leave to join Chelsea City Utd because they want to compete in the premier league and champions league.
Until we accept that fact and set about changing it we will be stuck in our groundhog ways.

{Ed025's Note - you make some fair points G62..

I am having a hard time believing how many people are defending Wenger. Have you guys watched how we have played for the last several years especially in big games. I mean seriously he plays the same way every time. Leicester just got to the final 8 in their first opportunity. We haven't been past the round of 16 in 8 years. I know we have had Barcelona and Bayern most of the time but did we not blow the Monaco tie. I really thought Wenger had turned the corner against man city a few years back where we sat deep and beat them with the counter. The guy goes to Chelsea, united, Liverpool, and plays so open. Either he is clueless or the players don't listen. We have a great team this year yet we are 16 points off the pace. Lost by 10 points to Leicester last year. I am sorry and I know I won't convince any of those who want Wenger to stay but I don't see any improvement. I don't know who the replacement should be I would figure a club like ours would have the proper people in charge to make that decision, oh yeah I forgot our board has never played one soccer/ futbol game in their lives. The nuggets and rams are extremely successful Hahaha.

Well said Darren

Top post.

2.) 15 Mar 2017 09:42:34
I've supported Wenger for years and my thoughts were he deserved it and as I said the other day because I wanted him to show me he still had it.

I also spoke of that City game where it was the players who dictated how they played that day and led us all to believe we had turned a corner.

Now however, I've truly seen it with my own eyes that he doesn't have what ever it was in him that took us to league titles. I know as hard as it is to say it, that's it's time for him to move on.

I don't want to shout it from the roof tops, I don't want to constantly berate him, even now I'd want him by some miracle to win the league but it's a forlorn hope.

I accept the decision will be his and I really hope he, in my eyes, makes the right one.

I suspect more fans than you imagine feel this way but don't want to see a truly undignified end to his career at Arsenal.

3.) 15 Mar 2017 14:53:42
Top post Darren absolutely on the money.

4.) 15 Mar 2017 17:22:27
Long time Wenger supporter, but it is time to freshen things up one way or another - fully realise that we may get worse before we get better but so be it.

When we get a new owner I will get really excited.

5.) 15 Mar 2017 18:10:27
Rooster I think kroenke will back the next manager in the transfer market.

6.) 15 Mar 2017 18:35:05
I still struggle to see how silent Stan has done to much wrong as regards backing Arsene, he's given him everything he's asked for.
Arsene himself has said on many occasions the club has never refused him anything he's asked for and the club has gone to great lengths to stress that funds are available it's only Arsenes insistence on backing the players he already had and refusal to upset them by bringing in quality upgrades as and when needed coupled with his inability to motivate and organise those players into team capable of fighting its way into contention for big prizes.
The only things i can really see Stan and the board has really got wrong is backing Arsene much longer than they should have and allowing far to much power without accountability.

7.) 15 Mar 2017 21:21:51
62,

Who do you blame, if blames the right word, for allowing RVP to leave and as it seems allowing Sanchez and possibly Ozil to leave.

If you own the club and want that club to succeed you don't stand by and watch that happen no matter who the manager is.

Kroenke is shocking and the sooner he's gone the better in my humble opinion.

8.) 15 Mar 2017 22:43:18
Hi Stoner mate, i blame Arsene simply because as Sanchez and Ozil will follow RVP and others who left the Arsenal for clubs who they felt matched thier own ambitions.
Stans fault as i see it is backing Arsene but let's face it what chioce does he have?
If he sacks him 50% of fans would be outraged and if he doesn't sack him the other 50% call him unambitious.
His only choice as i see it is to give Arsene all he asks for and hope he either succeeds or admits defeat himself and walks away.
I don't blame RVP Sanchez Ozil or any of the players who leave to challenge beyond finishing top 4 and make the champions league last 16 each season.

9.) 16 Mar 2017 10:19:36
That's the problem though 62, it's not his only choice, because he has no passion for the club he allows these situations to develop.

Because unlike Chelsea and City whose owners want to win and managers pay the consequences if they don't we are left with this situation of constant limbo because he has no will to win.

Who in there right mind as an owner would allow these players to leave, yes they may want to because they want to win but the owner has to want his club to win and put the right man at the helm to achieve that.

Chelsea have had god knows how many managers and keep racking up the trophies whilst we keep choking Year on Year.
