Hi eds. Any info on the possibility of Joel Campbell leaving? Didn't get as many games as he deserved last season for his performances. Woukdnt surprise me if he was to leave. Should be kept imo. Good squad player.

No idea what Rodriguez is like but I've a hunch that if we get him there'll be no new centre back and nacho/ chambers will be the third choice with nacho gradually becoming a full time cb over a couple of seasons.

If that's the case which I doubt then the likes of vardy and Xhaka will be pointless. We really need another CB.

Only teasing myself here but imagine the damage a team could do with a front three of

Sanchez Lacazette Griezmann

And a midfield of

Xakha Carvalho or Kondogbia and Ozil

Would bump off Walcott, Ramsay, gibbs, jenko, coqulein if the money was good (big fan of his but as a means of financing my silly fantasy) and possible ox or wilshere if the money was right for either.

Would need a left back then as well.

Since 2007 we've spent £231m on stadoum financing £147m on interest and £85m debt repayment.

This seems like madness to me. We're paying nearly twice as much in interest than the debt. By the time we pay off the loan we could have build the stadium nearly 3 times!

Obviously I'm no investment banker. Is there anyone that can explain to me if we've gotten a good or a bad deal in terms of such a loan. And the penalties for early payment are supposed to be massive also.

That is just how finance works, its the same for everyone. The first years are spent paying off interest before the balance is cleared in effect. As far as i'm aware the funding from highbury and emirates airlines are paying for the stadium. All clubs borrow money wether it be for new stadium or upgrading. When we have paid for the stadium there will be something else, there always is.

Galway have you got a mortgage, if you have work out what you will pay for your house and at the moment interest rates are rock bottom.

3.) 29 Apr 2016 23:11:35
Im only young still steve :P I hadn't realised that interest is front loaded, i thought it was almost 50% interest rate that we pay every year which seemed absurd. Thanks for the answer.

You've got it all to look forward to then G.

GALWAY
Hold onto that change you have in you pocket, because when you get a wife, kids and a mortgage. they will all want that,

Loans are structured in different ways, I am not certain where you obtained your figures from? However, I can assure you at the time Arsenal did as good a deal as they could. Don't forget, in any event the interest part of the loan is set against tax, so our tax liabilities have been greatly reduced, The amazing thing is that we have built the stadium at a very difficult time and have £200m in the bank.
Money isn't a problem at the club, it is Arsene Wenger's willingness to spend it. He believes, quite rightly, that football clubs are businesses and should be run as such, with a profit at the end of each financial year. However, a couple more signings in the summer, wouldn't have gone amiss.

Mangala would be worse then a stick of butter plonked at centre half.

Sakho has his merits.

I really couldn't see us deling with them after that. Arsenal like everything quite. When do we ever disclose a fee? For better or worse Wenger will turn his arse-nal to them.

with you there sm
Joel was one of your better performers last year and deserves to be in the pecking order ahead of ox. Ox should have been loaned imo. there's star quality in him but needs time to find his rythm.

Great point SLB. The spuds think they've done great by running us close for a position in the last few years!
Worse still we could be liverpool!

Ive akways been sceptical of Ibra. If he has a 20 goal season this year i will be a believer.

But i would never watch a match again if we signed mourinho.

Clubs across the board need to institute pay by play bonuses or the epl market will crash.

A few years ago it was easy to sneer at city payong a fortune to get rid of their own players now its going to become more common as other leagues can't pay the wages and epl teams will say if he didn't do the business for you why should we take the gamble.

I revkon a problem is teams are looking at stones for close to 50mil and saying if he's worth our boy is worth it!

If bonucci goes anywhere for less than 70 given some other signi gs it will be a steal and a fish finger.
