What's happening with Joel Campell this season?

Gooner83

{Ed002's Note - He is available for sale.}

1.) 25 May 2018 16:14:32
We should give him the chance. Fortunately Emery has no loyalty to our players so will only judge them on pure football. Glad Perez is back. He deserved better.

2.) 25 May 2018 16:02:33
Ed is back with transfers! Ed were u able to speak to your mate in Belgium about the assistant manager position?

{Ed002's Note - He expects it to be Juan Carlos Carcedo who played for Atletico and Nice.}

3.) 25 May 2018 19:27:17
Thanks Ed. Have a good weekend.

A couple of papers are saying we've agreed £23 m for Andriy Yarmolenko. Any truth ends? His stats aren't bad at all.

Gooner83

{Ed025's Note - dont believe all you hear about yarmolenko 83, kiev have messed everton about for ages mate..

1.) 29 Jan 2016 17:17:02
Yarmolenko will cost an arm and a leg though.

2.) 31 Jan 2016 08:17:18
He is very one sided then.

26 Aug 2015 08:36:30
Hi eds, is there any interest now in either virgil van dijk or victor wanyama?

Gooner83

{Ed025's Note not that i am aware mate..

1.) 26 Aug 2015 18:53:46
great player he is. what clubs have interest in him?

{Ed002's Note - Try the Southampton page.}

Sorry about what I said about John obi mikel. I really don't ever want to see him with an arsenal mug, let alone a shirt. He was bloody awful last night. Against Iran for god sake.

I am however quite open to us getting Balotelli, and would think Nani would be a good replacement for Cazorla if he leaves.

Not sure how I feel about the prospect of TV5 leaving for united, and the thought of getting Tom Cleverley in return makes my stomach turn.

Gooner83

Gooner83

{Ed025's Note - tom cleverley seems to be on a lot of clubs shopping list G83, everton are one of the latest...god help us all..

1.) Whatever anyone says, I'd bet my testicles that Tom Cleverley to Arsenal will not ever happen.

2.) 17 Jun 2014 20:55:54
Must be in the reduced section this year. Just what arsene has been waiting for

25 May 2014 10:22:05
Just read on ssn paper talk linking us with Sami Khedira. Good player by all means, but what would he bring to us that we don't already have? Just curious because I havnt really seen him play much.

Gooner83

1.) He would bring the midfield stamina and defensive quality, this guy can run forever.

2.) Midfield enforcer that has an outrageous passing range

3.) 26 May 2014 18:58:45
Think patrick viera with xabi alonso's passing range, that's what we'd be getting. Shame it won't happen though

I would hope Wenger sees a little bit of sense and brings in Reiss Nelson as oxs replacement. But we certainly need another right back. And ditch this bullshit formation and go back to 4-2-3-1.

Eds how long is Cazorla expected to be out for now?

Gooner83

{Ed001's Note - the season mate.}

1.) 30 Aug 2017 18:29:35
He's going to have to bring youth in to balance the squad. Home grown and Brits are being moved.

Hi all. Can I just say that any hope of Arsenal landing Aubameyang is a bit of a pipe dream. The player has spoken of his love for Dortmund, and how his only other destination would be Spain. Unless Arsenal were to offer him ridiculous wages ( which we all know they won't) I find it very unlikely he'll be joining. Personally I'd rather pay the crazy wages for Ibrahimovic on a 1 year rolling contract. Purely for Champions league and domestic cup games.

Gooner83

1.) 10 Jan 2016 23:15:29
Which leads us nicely onto Charlie Austin :-)

2.) 11 Jan 2016 08:11:01
Dags if Arsenal ever signed him or were even linked too him, we would all know you had a part too play in it lol ;)

3.) 11 Jan 2016 09:02:29
Makes you wonder why if Charlie Austin is so good, and his physical problems don't matter, why haven't other teams lower in the league who have lots of money now signed him? Nobody else wants him. Bournemouth pay 12 million for afobe. A bid of that much would have secured Austin.

4.) 11 Jan 2016 09:37:54
While he's obviously not champions league material he is a very decent goal scorer who I'm surprised a lot of premier league clubs haven't gone all out to get, he seems to be a good pro and may be its him not really wanting to move now as he will be a free agent in the summer and could command higher wages then, he came into the game late so is probably thinking its his one big pay deal.

5.) 11 Jan 2016 12:03:49
Essex,
I'm his Super Agent :-)

6.) 11 Jan 2016 12:42:50
Love it dags :)

7.) 11 Jan 2016 12:52:12
If arsenal sight Austin I will wear a spurs top for a week.

8.) 11 Jan 2016 17:19:40

11.) 11 Jan 2016 16:44:54
Don't be daft Sussex don't tempt fate! Think of a less embarrassing forfeit like walking around in full woman's night ware holding a banner saying "I only do it for the herpes" lol.

have slashed the odds on Benzema to Arsenal following a string of bets. Doesn't this usually happen before a player suddenly joins a different team? Such as Pedro suddenly arriving at Stamford bridge for a medical when everyone thought he was flying to Manchester? I personally think Benzema would be a great signing for us but for some reason I'm quite intrigued by the thought of Cavani in an Arsenal shirt.

Gooner83

1.) 19 Aug 2015 19:25:05
Neither would do us any harm that's for sure, we'll challenge without them but it would be a stronger challenge with one of them on side.
But let's see what happens as we've been much further down the road with others who never arrived.

2.) 19 Aug 2015 21:19:30
I'm convinced we'll get Benzema

3.) 19 Aug 2015 22:44:08
I can't see us getting a striker now.

I think AW is happy with Olly, and knowing he has Theo and Welbz as back up.

4.) 19 Aug 2015 22:54:59
To be honest Dags I've no idea whether we will or won't sign a striker or anyone else come to that, Arsene will only sign quality at this stage and that's much higher in demand than supply right now.
He will sign players he wants IF he can get them on his terms but our chances of getting gazumped are extremely high on both wages and fee's.

5.) 19 Aug 2015 23:05:08
Welbz going out on loan dags. Believe your boy. Benzema is on

6.) 19 Aug 2015 23:24:35
G62,

Problem is, what available players will improve us?

Is Benzema available? Nope.
Cavani? Maybe.
Goetze? Maybe, but do we need him?

Carvalho? Injured.
Wanyama? Southampton won't sell.
Sissoko? Not good enough.

Oohh, Charlie Austin.
Sorted.

7.) 19 Aug 2015 23:41:24
Dags would chas get 15 goals for us?
Would Benzema 100% get any more than that?
Olly is the answer of that I'm sure, but I've forgotten the question :-)

8.) 19 Aug 2015 23:50:28
It won't surprise me Derby.

Loan him to QPR, with Charlie going the other way.

9.) 20 Aug 2015 00:28:53
G62,

Charlie averages 18 goals per season in a poor relegated team.

He wouldn't be 1st choice but would do a good job coming off bench or replacing Olly if injured/tired/off form.

10.) 20 Aug 2015 09:58:12
To be fair Dags that's an Average taken over 1 season in the premier league season, with his best return being 18 and his worst also being 18 giving an average of 18 :-)

On that note. Sky sports are reporting that Vidals agent was at the game yesterday and may have held talks with Wenger last night to discuss a 25mil move in order to free up funds for Dybala and Cavani

My point was that in my opinion Pirlo could fetch 25mil at 37. Granted only an Italian club would pay it. But I can't understand why anyone would think Vidal isn't worth 25mil.

Pirlo is 37 and yet is still the most influencial player in the Juventus team. Which to me rates him at least at 25mil. So why wouldn't Vidal at 28 be worth the 25mil when he would also be playing alongside his international team mate in Sanchez??

We'll think of it this way, would you prefer a DM to be more defensive minded or more attack minded. Our problem with our CM is that they tend to join in going forward leaving the defence exposed on the counter. Why would playing a CB who is very good with the ball at his feet be a hindrance as a lone DM??? Would leave the other midfielders to do what they want.

Gooner83

Granted but David Luiz was better at DM than at CB for Chelski. Plus with Van Dijk being good from corners would mean we wouldn't have to gamble as much sending him forward, leaving the defence vulnerable. We could keep 3 back instead of 2.

Gooner83

{Ed002's Note - A truly bizarre thought process.}

4-0 for me. Wishere Sanogo Cazorla double.

Granted, every-so-often Jack comes out with a magic moment such as the goal against Norwich. But those moments are few and far between. He does bring something different however, and its quite an innovative technique. But as a cdm to be fouled more than he fouls is nothing short of a master stroke. The trouble with Jack is that he's a CM. Not a Dm and not really an AM. And I can't see how it fits to us in the long run.

I honestly would pick Arteta over him. And on his day I think Diaby would be a better choice. Trouble is we don't have anyone who is a straight up DM. We have bag fulls of CM. But most are fairly attack minded. If were going to play 1 CDM and 2 more attack minded, then we have to pick out of Ramsey, Ozil, Diaby, Rosicky, Cazorla and Ox to name but a few. And I would put Wilshere near the bottom of the list.

Hes too keen on picking up the ball and attracting fouls 35-40 yards from goal, when considering how good we are on the counter, doesn't really make sense.
