Edd we still interested in goretzka or Ricardo pereira now that chamberlain looks likely to leave.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

1.) 10 Aug 2017 14:37:53
Ed I forgot to ask, is there any interest in either William carvalho or Steven nzonzi, last question today I promise.

{Ed002's Note - Not from Arsenal at this time.}

2.) 10 Aug 2017 17:10:23
Ibraim chill out with all the questions 😂.

09 Aug 2017 00:17:26
Chelsea want chamberlain for 25mil I'd take 40mil or any deal involving costa chamberlain is playing well in the new system but as a cm or winger he's average.

1.) 09 Aug 2017 08:12:16
Do you guys think you'd sell him to Chelsea? He'd be a significant improvement on Moses in my opinion.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 08:16:28
I believe currently the ox is our best option at rwb. bellers is not fully fit and tbh i think with ox at rwb and kola at lwb we look strong, very explosive and will get a lot of joy on the flanks. keep the ox at all costs i say!

3.) 09 Aug 2017 11:11:18
I agree with kcider, wish we would say ox that's your best position, forget playing central. We will sell bellerin inevitably back to Barcelona anyway so we should be trying to convince him he'd be best suited to staying here.

Personally also don't understand if he thinks central is his best position who he will replace in the city/ Chelsea/ Liverpool cm spots.

City and Liverpool are overloaded with central midfielders especially attacking minded, Chelsea would have more room but if he can't force his way past Xhaka and Ramsey how does he expect to do that against kante and Fabregas? As well as them recently signing bakayoko?

4.) 09 Aug 2017 13:46:39
Willian I'd swap for.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 00:26:26
I agree with kcider, the ox has played well preseason, looks better than bellerin! However he is 2/ 3 games away from being injured. REMEMBER THIS POST.

03 Jul 2017 10:34:29
lacazette and mahrez nearly done apparently but it seems like giroud will leave i'd rather we keep him he's a good player to have on the bench especially with sanchez, perez linked with moves away hopefully we can shift walcott.

1.) 03 Jul 2017 11:20:15
If we allow Walcott, Ox, Giroud and Gibbs to leave. With the risk that Bellerin, Ospina and Szczesny could also all be off. We could have problems filling the gaps. After Lacazette and Mahrez (if true) we will need to focus on GK but we could have a real problem at RWB.

2.) 03 Jul 2017 13:17:39
Keep Walcott and Perez.

Probably our 2 best finishers behind Sanchez.

3.) 03 Jul 2017 13:58:00
both can go for me dags, free up space for better players.

4.) 03 Jul 2017 14:15:00
I love Theo but hasn't progressed at all. Would have the ok over him any day, would love him to stay.

{Ed025's Note - both underachievers for me magpie, it would be best for all parties if they moved on imo mate, they have both gone a bit stale and would benefit with a new start somewhere else, arsenal can use the money to bring in some new blood to freshen things up so its win win for me mate..

5.) 03 Jul 2017 14:23:25
I'm with dags on this one. Theo scored something like 20 goals this season. There might be better players around, but not many who could score that many from the bench. Every team needs a Solksjaer. Lucas also barely got a chance but put in a shift and had great end product. We might need star billing, but we also need depth.

6.) 03 Jul 2017 15:35:36
Spot on wire.

7.) 03 Jul 2017 17:08:19
I think that by now if Theo was going to make his mark it would of happened. I think he makes a great back up and gives the squad some depth. I can't see him improving any other clubs in the PL except that he may be playing more regularly for some. Certainly not the top six.
I don't think Perez has been given enough slack. I thought he loooked a decent player when he turned out.
Back on Wilshires case again. I don't understand this debate over him. What is this year in year out 'Love In'' with Arsenal and Wiltshire? . I just don't get it. Same with Ramsey too.

8.) 03 Jul 2017 18:34:39
They need to go imo. A good example of a winning mentality is Rio Ferdinand - he sounds insanely arrogant but that's the difference, Alexis Sanchez is of that mould also. I just don't feel Walcott has the aggression to take it to the next level and I do want to see him do well, but I think that'll happen away from Arsenal as he needs a reality check. We had a very bad season and we need to go back to the drawing board with as little emotion as possible.

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

9.) 03 Jul 2017 23:50:16
maybe i'm missing something with theo i'm not sure. I do feel only fresh eyes from a new managers can sort the dead wood out. too much faith at present.

10.) 04 Jul 2017 06:52:23
Don't understand the Walcott hate on this page.

Theo undoubtedly was our second best player last year, only behind alexis.

He started the season on fire and yeh his performances stuttered after Christmas but that's because suddenly he wasn't starting half the time.

Imagine being dropped on what is your best season at a club and people wonder why his performances dropped.

Bear in mind he scored 19 goals in 29 starts and came on as a sub 10 times. That's an incredible return off a winger who's constantly slated by his own 'fans'.

Some people seem to be judging his performances off this expectations of him being the next Henry from when he signed for us at 16.

11.) 03 Jul 2017 23:35:54
Yeah ed I guess you're right. Being sentimental for sentimentals sake gets us nowhere.

12.) 04 Jul 2017 10:14:25
I would let Walcott go, because he cost to much with his 100k salary. He is not a game changer, lack intesity in his play, he hardly ever win a ball back and tend to have sloppy passing. I rather keep Perez, i think has some of same intesity alexis have. I hope he could get some more game time before we throw him out him.

13.) 03 Jul 2017 11:18:58
I'm with dags.
I do think Theo has underperformed, but can't sniff at a 20 goal bench player.

As for the ox, he's had a lot less game time than most - often from the bench or hauled off early. When he's been given a run of games gets better. Our most direct runner behind Sanchez and showed incredible versatility last season. Plus he's only 23. For me, we've got to keep him at all costs.

30 Jun 2017 09:29:19
We're linked to dalbert from nice he's a left back rather we invest in a right back as we are short on that position.

1.) 30 Jun 2017 10:46:13
We're often linked with a billion players, I wouldn't read much into it. It's equally likely to be an agent drumming up interest or even Wenger's presence in the south of France that started the rumour.

2.) 01 Jul 2017 06:24:50
Montreal will play as LCB. It looks like Gibbs will be sold, we only have Kolasinac in the LB role. We need backup for him.

3.) 01 Jul 2017 11:20:05
i'm sure one of our 6? CBs could fill in for monreal at the back if it was really necessary, 254.

29 May 2017 12:24:57
Is Szczesny moving to Napoli?

{Ed002's Note - Possibly - Wojciech Szczesny has alwayys want to move to Rome and Roma are losing Lukasz Skorupski (possibly to Napoli who have spoken with him, or possibly elsewhere) so the Roma option may also open up. But there has been a discussion with Napoli. Napoli cannot het their first choice to agree the move so it will be one of the two.}

What's happening with krychowiak is he still available I remember he was a solid player at sevilla would be an upgrade in our midfield.

1.) 22 Aug 2017 12:35:49
Talking of decent CDM players with a Seville connection why wasn't we interested in Geoffrey Kondogbia? I believe he has just gone on a season long long to Valencia with an option to buy (after he fell out with the manager at Inter Milan? ) so I am sure we could has tried for him if we wanted? Otherwise Seville sold him and Krychowiak and kept Stephen N'Zonzi, who was absolutely brilliant for them last season. Perhaps he could do a job for us if asked? However i suspect a CDM is not in Wengers plans.

2.) 22 Aug 2017 12:50:16
All these players look good whilst at saville but average elsewhere.

21 Aug 2017 12:31:30
I think we should go back to 4-2-3-1 or even 4-4-2 we're Going to concede goals regardless.

1.) 21 Aug 2017 12:35:10
we should and will. I have never believed in the 3 cbs set up.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 12:35:55
We will concede goals whatever formation we play, some of the recent past scoreline with four at the back have been shameful. It not the formation that is the problem, it's the logistics.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 13:17:05
It's the players. If we play 2 full backs as CB then we're creating issues for ourselves, throw in that they get very little protection as we've got no proper defensively minded CM and it becomes apparent it's personnel on the field that's a major problem.

4.) 21 Aug 2017 13:39:22
3 CB's are fine, particularly if we play against a team with only one striker. However, our problem this season is that we have been playing too high a defensive line, allowing opponents to get in behind our defence. Our DM players have been pushing too high and neglecting their main job which is to sit in front of the back three to protect them. In addition our wing backs have also been playing too far forward. It's not just about formation, but where the defensve line is and the defensve discipline of the team. I wish Wenger would allow Bould to organise the defensive side of things and bring in someone like Martin Keown to assist him.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 16:26:29
I'm not 100% but I'm sure Chelsea won the title with 3 centre backs, I mean I could be wrong and it probably really is a very poor formation to play that you'd never win jack sheet with.

6.) 21 Aug 2017 16:43:15
With th selection over the weekend, we had the players on the pitch to switch back to 4 at the back, bellerin - mustafi - nacho - Kolasniac. Bellerin at Lwb is a joke. If your playin 3 at the back, lose Welbeck and play Giroud and Lacazette up top with ozil behind 'em.

7.) 21 Aug 2017 18:21:44
Chelski did win the league with three at the back and had a good defensive record. It's not the formation, it's the application.

8.) 21 Aug 2017 19:36:55
It's nothing to do with formation stoner. Formations have nothing to do with it it was not a coincidence that Chelsea moved to it after a 3-0 smashing by the Arsenal and looked defensively sound after that. I don't know how correct it is but after been on this site for the past few years it would appear that Chelseas main change last year and what won them the tittle was having a better manager better players and it would appear better fans 😂. Chelsea have the best fans though don't they steve 🤐🤐.

20 Aug 2017 12:55:54
Top 4 is the best we can hope for it's sad but true.

1.) 20 Aug 2017 13:27:29
People can hope for what they want it's people's expectations that's the problem.
Anyone who expects us to compete for the title is setting themselves up for disappointment almost 99.9% certainly.
I don't expect top 4 so won't be sitting with my head in my hands wondering what went wrong if we don't achieve it.
If we don't make top 7 I will be immediately rejoining the Arsene out campaign because as much as I accept 2 more seasons of not competing not even making the top 3rd of the table would beyond the pale no matter how many other people were happy to carry on as always.
Top 7 for me is the new absolute minimum acceptable finish for me.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 14:10:18
I hope Sanchez doesn't read your post 😁.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 14:28:02
Dags I was quoting Sanchez :-)

4.) 20 Aug 2017 15:05:20
Thought so 😁.

5.) 20 Aug 2017 22:09:52
62 after last seasons 5th place if I was the owner he doesn't get top4 he is gone. but let's see stan will want champs league money. but let's hope if it doesn't come he sells.

19 Aug 2017 19:23:11

1.) 19 Aug 2017 19:49:16

Ozil is no fabregas.

Moe we let fabregas and van Persie go and still finished top 4 and they were bigger more important players than ozil at the time we finished outside the top with ozil and he's supposed to be our main man got nothing against ozil but he doesn't deliver consistently.

Don't think ozil would be that big of a loss we've lost more important players in the past and managed.

Ozil is not doing much in the advanced positions maybe he could play the Pirlo role I was watching city earlier silva was good only if ozil could have as much of an influence.
