Champions 3 times in the first 8 years is the impressive ones. Last 12 not as good as it should be.

2.) 23 Sep 2016 18:50:10
Either way Steve - its more impressive with Wenger than not. huge difference now is you have 3 big big teams to beat due to money -> Utd, City and Chelsea.

Full respect to Wenger and the fantastic teams and football he has brought to our stadiums.

We were very lucky to watch some of those top top top players perform in the famous shirt and even more lucky that they graced the same team. You will tell your grandkids about the invincibles and our double winning teams as well as showing them on YouTube why DB10, Pires and Henry were so special

We have been lucky to see these teams and I think fortunate to have such a loyal manager

Hope he leaves on a high - for him and us!

3.) 23 Sep 2016 20:07:05
Please please I think I could stay loyal as you put it, if I could control my destiny, immune from the sack, earn 8 mil a year and decide when I leave. There is loyalty and there is loyalty. Like I've always said he hasn't ever left because he wouldn't get the control and the terms of employment anywhere else that he gets here. He very clever, he's not daft.

4.) 23 Sep 2016 20:11:02
S4 I hope he doesn't leave on a high. For me if he wins the league this season he has proved himself and can stay in that knowledge. If not I don't see him ever leaving on a high. Its now or never for me.

5.) 23 Sep 2016 22:54:04
So Steve, if you could have the last 20 years again - you would turn it down just because of your hate for Wenger? Sad 😂.

6.) 24 Sep 2016 00:09:56
Your words your thoughts sy not mine. i'm on about his so called loyalty, what you on about.

7.) 24 Sep 2016 00:12:43
Sy I have never said I hate wenger, again your words. I have only said he's had his time and now its time for someone else. Stop putting words out for effect.

8.) 24 Sep 2016 01:04:42
Wait, wait, wait. So Steve, you do realise hoping Wenger doesn't leave on a high is hoping Arsenal don't win anything, you know that right? I agree with a lot of your points with how our club is won but as an Arsenal supporter, i will always hope we win everything. Not wanting that is kinda the opposite of supporting the Gunners. Not wanting us to win anything is a Spuds thing buddy.

9.) 24 Sep 2016 08:59:14
Steve - I did put words into your mouth but you are anti-Wenger which is demonstrated in your posts. To say you don't want to win anything this year is strange.

If our next manager wins the league 3 times, 3 second place finishes and a handful of FA Cups over 20 years then I will be tipping my hat to him or her even if it's Raver. If we then never fall fall out if top 4 and play great football - even better.

I am sure Raver would take our 20 year history

You may not hate him - sorry about saying that.

As fans we should want us to win and appreciate what Wenger has done.

Big game today - away win! COYG! 🏆🏆.

10.) 24 Sep 2016 10:36:08
Outback read the post. The reason I hope he doesn't leave on a high is we win the league and he stays. Which means he won't be leaving. I don't think we will win it this year so that won't exactly be a high.

11.) 24 Sep 2016 10:42:32
Sy putting words in my mouth again. If you read posts and don't read them properly and write lies then I can't help that. I have never ever said i don't want to win anything ever, where did you get that rubbish from. i'm an arsenal fan with an opinion that we can have a better manager and win more. And I don't go around making things up for effect.

12.) 24 Sep 2016 10:58:11
Sy I do want us to win that is why I want a new manager, I could say you don't want us to win by wanting to keep him but I won't because like your suggestion its wrong. I do appreciate what wenger has done I used to worship him, I don't appreciate what he's doing now, big difference.

13.) 24 Sep 2016 12:22:55
My apologies Steve. I've read that wrong.

14.) 24 Sep 2016 12:56:16
Apology accepted outback, i know my english is a bit pidgeon but i think if we win he stays if we dont, he goes. I don't see another satisfactory outcome.

Whts with all the ignorance about adequate cover for le coq... 2 days after the wondow closes he gets injured.. where is your revelation then, and everyone will be out screming wemger should knw better, wenger should have signed some replacement he knws the importance of a dm in our squad..

The squad does look good, atleast 2 recognized players in each spot expcept for cf and dm, arteta and flamini are past it, for the sake of argument bring back song just to hahahave someone adequate with the legs to cover

U don't win if u don't score.. but u can't lose if u don't concede

MrD.

1.) 03 Jul 2015 08:13:50
And what if we signed Carvalho and he got injured in the community shield or like Di maria and Falco struggled with the premier league and then Le Coq got injured?
What if Petr Cech goes renegade and decides to help Mourinho out by costing us a few vital points and what if Sanchez is through one on one with the keeper and suddenly spontaneously combusts, its a worry I'll grant you that.
We have retained both Flamini and Artetta plus have Bielek if absolutely necessary as like should Both Monreal and Gibbs got injured we have to use Calum or Whatever.
We can't keep singing players for every position without letting some go just in case.

if he gives 6 months of pace, goals, pressing and with his head screwed on correctly in a 9 month season, i will take that.

Banbury mate. injuries are part and parcel of the game. so why is it that arsenal have this excuses of first team player out with injury.

if its been 10/11 months since a full strength team as you say, so assuming roughly the team has 1 or 2 injuries every month. why is that we can't have adequate cover.

having said that, from what I see, we seem to be well equipped except for defense, not all world class players but we have the group to win titles, not everyone can be madrid and $hitty

2rb, 2 lb, and 3 cb. I expect chambers to cover the cb position with nacho and debuchy stepping if required, I don't see wenger risking him in cdm position at all

arteta flamini are not the best choice of course, but with wilshere chamberlain and ramsey we have defensive minded players who could be dedicated, with for e.g rosicky playing in the b2b role

i believe we also have coquelin, has failed to impress but could play minutes against weaker teams

with the exception of giroud, all should be available after the break

its all upto arsene in keeping the players fresh and playing them in position, playing either of ramsey or wilshere and either of cazorla and ozil will keep them all fresh and up to pace,

it baffles me why poldi, campbell and rosicky didn't see a lot of game time in the first few matches, hopefully he will use them better and stop freezing players out of first team action
