Haven't posted for many moons but would love someone to tell me how The Arsenals management structure is so fundamentally different from other clubs and why this gives us problems with recruitment of our first choice of manager and other positions. Either way things have to change and quickly, as things really cannot get much worse than they are now.

{Ed002's Note - It is totally different as I have explained.}

There have been many times whilst I have supported The Arsenal that I have thought the directors have no regard for the supporters. However now we have directors and management that have now for the first time in my life have no regard for our players and us. I have always been proud that we have been known as one of the best clubs to play for. However now we have first team players on our books that know the club does not value them enough to strenthen the team and even though they are on really great money they must have lost all respect for our management. I am truly ashamed and disgusted with owner, directors and manager. The only honourable thing for them to do is go and as quickly as possible. Its no good them saying we should stick together as if we do they will think everything is all right and it most certainly is not. The only way for us to show our displeasure is to hit them where it hurts. In the pocket. After all they have been bleeding us dry for years, its now time for the boot to be on the other foot.

Today was the last straw. Best players on bench, to many starters played out of position. Our team obviously has no respect for the manager. And worst of all nobody and I mean nobody at the club cares about the supporters. Let the players go that don't want to be here. Sack the manager. Stan sell the club to someone who cares about football. I really can't see the point in posting any more on this sight as I am only venting my feeling to like minded people and the people who should take notice don't give a fig for our feelings. As I have said before I am 73 and have always supported The Arsenal and in that time I have seen some really bad teams and performances. Today was embarrassing on so many levels. Thank you Mr Wenger for all you have done for our club, but please go now, because if you stay things will only get worse and both you and us don't deserve it. Thank you and goodbye. COYG.

No shots on target. Abject. How can we expect aby less as he sits there on his arse throwing his hands up in the air every now and again. Does he know he's a manager and not a spectator?
Hes a million miles behind klopp and the likes now. The only thing he's better at is high tailing it out of sight at the end.

The last straw was about 7 years ago

Just go Wenger.

Sorry to say it looks like my worst fears are going to come true. Giving Wenger a new two year contract and allowing him to carry on as he has done in the past was a big mistake. The board of directors have absolutely no backbone. We are being left behind at such a rate I don't think we will make the top 6. Everyone is spending vast amounts of money on players and yes at inflated prices but that is the market place and we have to operate in it. Our season will go from bad to worse and the atmosphere at games will get toxic. To be honest I think if it does it is only what our management deserve. I fell sorry for the players, as they really don't deserve it. I can honestly see why some want out. As I have said before the secret of a good manager is knowing when its time to get out, everyone comes to a stage when age catches up with them. Everyone except Wenger.

The vast majority of the fans were very happy for Arsene to sit his new contract so the board gave the fans what they wanted.
I really can't see why fans keep having a pop at the board for doing what they wanted them to do, it's crazy.
I personally wanted change but most didn't and it shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone that if you vote for more of the same that you get exactly that.
Anyone who wanted Arsene to continue because they thought he would suddenly become a different person only fooled themselves.
Arsene had two more seasons because that's what most fans wanted to happen, end of story really.
What should the board do? Let Arsene go against the fans wishes? They would have to be pretty naive to do that.

Thanks for making me feel a lot better Steve, after yesterday I was really worried about relegation. Also I really don't want Wenger to tell me he is only focused on moving players out of the club. This is not his job, he should be stating who he wants in and whom he wants out, then someone else, preferably not Dick Law should be handling it. Also I think we should only sign players for the cheapest position, as Wenger won't play them there. This could potentially save the club million of pounds. Of course the team won't benefit but let's face it we are in Deep Deep S-t.

Seriously we are no better or worse off than last season and i don't really think we are any worse than the last 3 or 4 seasons, the only difference is Spurs Liverpool and Utd are much better now than a few seasons back and Everton look likely to be. As for City and Chelsea well they have been consistently better than us for ages.
We have simply stood still while things around us have changed, new managers new players new styles of play.
Everton City Chelsea Utd Spurs Liverpool are all virtually unrecognisable from 4 seasons ago but everything is strikingly similar at Arsenal football club.
I bet if we read the posts from 4 years ago of the mentioned teams pages only ours would stand the test of time :-) stability continuity and of course not forgetting groundhog :-)

Could you rephrase that Steve. Worried for the Night Nurse.

Couldn’t agree more Steve, we must stop selling players to our rivals in the Prem. However as I have said before hopefully we will stop letting players contracts run down to the last year. This would give the club more leeway in the future.

Couldn’t agree more with you Steve. Nothing ever changes at The Arsenal. I have tried to refrain from posting until I fell more positive about the season ahead but as you say same manager, same board of directors, so many contracts still unsorted and players to sell. We have been left behind by more ambitious clubs who are prepared to spend their money. We have one of the richest owners in the world so don’t tell me we can’t compete if we had the desire to. We will keep on penny pinching on buying players until the one person we don’t penny pinch on when it comes to wages, i. e. Arsene Wenger goes. Still COYG.

Robbie G61.
Here is my list of Contracts up in 2017. Josh Dasilva. Glenn Kamara. Julio Pleguezuelo Selva. Jon Toral. Christopher Willock. Contracts up in 2018. Wojciech Szczesny. Kieran Gibbs. Alexis Sánchez. Jack Wilshere. Mesut Ozil. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Joel Campbell. Jeff Reine-Adelaide. Krystian Bielik. Gedion Zelalem. Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Stephy Mavididi. Daniel Crowley. On top of that we have Mathieu Debuchy 2019. Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla who we are not sure if contracts have been extended. If only a few are straightforward that still leaves a lot of players who should have been tied down to contracts sooner. I wonder what Dick Law actually does with his time. Probably waiting for Arsene to make time in his busy schedule of indecision.

Totally agree steve. r. Wenger has to go it’s such a shame he has stayed so long as all the good work he has done will be tarnished by the last few years. The board of directors should also go, but to be fair they are so quite at the moment they might have already jumped ship. Also wouldn’t it be nice to have an owner that actually attended our matches. Getting jealous of seeing other clubs with their owners at games. Thank you Arsene for all you have done for Our Club, just so so sorry that it has been tarnished by the last few years.
