Is their any truth to the rumours that arsenal have offered Sanchez £330k per week?

PeterC

1.) 24 May 2017 22:44:52
No I think its £329,001. Sanchez wants it rounded up to a fiver but we are stalling.

2.) 24 May 2017 22:59:24
If it was any other player who was offered that money I'd be confident they would stay, but Sanchez is all about winning trophies so I really don't know what he will do.

3.) 24 May 2017 23:15:44
I agree peter. Hope he stays but unless we show him 4/ 5 top signings he's gone. What a player that boy is.

4.) 25 May 2017 00:08:28
Agree best player in the prem, I hope his judgement isn't as good as rvp, fabrigas, henry and vierra who all left to win trophies as well as a few others.

5.) 25 May 2017 11:09:40
Lol steve.

6.) 25 May 2017 12:32:32
Let's be fair here Steve; vieira and henry both won trophies at Arsenal. Even Cesc won an FA Cup at Arsenal. If RVP had stayed fit long enough, who knows, maybe he would have won stuff too.

7.) 25 May 2017 14:59:06
Lol rvp won the fa cup and charity shield.

8.) 25 May 2017 15:11:16
I think Ed002 said Alexis has turned down lots of offers we made, so I doubt we offered that much. Probably just an excuse for us or Bayern to say a deal wasn't possible because of the money Alexis wanted.

9.) 25 May 2017 16:03:16
Sharpy they left to win trophies, because they could see a lean period or didn't trust we would be challenging for the major comps and were right to.

10.) 26 May 2017 09:04:48
i think the promise to him should be simple. sign a contract. and give us the year to win the epl and target the champions league the following year. we don't win the epl he has to be allowed to go.

we need one more big game player i think the squad has underperformed this year massively, and perhaps next year will give them that added motivation to win the league.

Morning Ed002,

Thanks for answering my question regarding Alexis yesterday.

Just one more thing I'd like to ask as you've said Alexis may leave in the summer.

Is it down to the ability of the club being unable to cerstain a challenge in any major competition?

Or

Is it that the club have refused to meet the salary Alexis has asked for to renew his contract?

Look forward to your response and thanks again.

PeterC

{Ed002's Note - Players are transient employees of the club and come and go. He is in a position where he wants to be winning at the highest level and it is a sensible time to look at his options and move on.}

1.) 22 Feb 2017 12:12:38
Thanks again Ed, top man.

2.) 22 Feb 2017 19:17:06
Ed do u know the reason why arsenal players want arsene to sign a new deal?

{Ed002's Note - Maybe they are not like the fans?}

3.) 22 Feb 2017 22:09:01
Some fans ed 😊.

4.) 23 Feb 2017 11:22:13
I guess it depends on what type of player you are. Some players are hungry and want to win things and others are happy with good money and don't like being shouted at! Some fans want the premier league and some fans just want to finish above spurs. Horses for courses.

5.) 23 Feb 2017 14:49:59
Sanogo I keep seeing people say that and I got to say I've never seen a fan just wanting to finish above spurs. I'm sure they exist though.

6.) 23 Feb 2017 16:08:34
It was the highlight of our season last year mate.

21 Feb 2017 16:59:13
Evening Ed002,

Is their any update on Sanchez making a decision on his future?

Thanks in advance.

PeterC

{Ed002's Note - I understand from someone senior in the Arsenal structure that the expectation is he will leave Peter.}

1.) 21 Feb 2017 17:27:58
If I could add a question to that one Ed. Any idea if that'll be end of the season or end of the contract.

{Ed002's Note - The end of the season.}

2.) 21 Feb 2017 18:43:53
I might get some hate for this but I don't blame him. And we will struggle without him. bad times coming if he really leaves.

3.) 21 Feb 2017 17:56:14
Thanks ed.

4.) 21 Feb 2017 19:18:43
Going to be really tough to replace him with just 1 player.

I remember the Eds saying Reus would be looked at if Alexis was to leave. Reus is a great player but he has injury problems!
We'd probably have to sign 2-3 players just to replace him tbh.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has been continuing to watch Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal and have now spoken with Lyon about his availability in the summer.}

5.) 21 Feb 2017 20:45:29
are you able to say who's interested in Alexis at this moment Ed?

Another question is what about Ozil? Do you know if he is wanting to leave? Or if the club would be willing to sell both in the same window

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Juventus and PSG are very interested. Inter also has an interest but may have an FFP issue.}

6.) 21 Feb 2017 21:38:45
Ed on ghezzel I thought he was out of contract in the summer or has he signed a new one? Also are we interested in lorenzo insigne? He would be a good sanchez replacement. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - He is but Lyon are still hoping for a new contract. Arsenal want to know what the situation is. Right now he has also been disciplined by the club.}

7.) 21 Feb 2017 21:57:29
Oh ok cheers Ed. Can I ask what he was disciplined for?

{Ed002's Note - Ghezzal got a red card in injury time for a robust dispute with St Et's Fabien Lemoine.}

8.) 21 Feb 2017 22:13:10
I saw that and tolisso got sent off straight after.

9.) 21 Feb 2017 23:31:45
Appreciate the reply Ed, thanks.

10.) 22 Feb 2017 16:44:59
Is there still interest in Nabil Fekir from Arsenal?

As much as I'd hate to see Alexis leave I can't really blame him, we've been lackluster for a few seasons.

Hopefully we'll actually improve the first team this summer, even if it means spending money to only slightly improve a position.

{Ed002's Note - Too late now.}

Ed 001, I know you said at the start of June that arsenal might look at Mustafi from Valentin, with the rumours this morning can you see it happening especially after Mert is out for 5 months? Is Murillo no longer of interest to Arsenal at this point?

Thanks in advance.

PeterC

{Ed001's Note - you were rebuffed on Murillo a while back. Though a centre back was not seen as urgent then as it is now. I don't think you will return for him though.}

1.) 26 Jul 2016 11:29:55
Thanks ed, what about mustafi?

{Ed001's Note - I expect renewed interest now.}

2.) 26 Jul 2016 12:04:23
Thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

3.) 26 Jul 2016 13:10:21
So Ed, is Mertesacker's injury is sufficiently bad to warrant replacement?

Thanks.

4.) 26 Jul 2016 13:10:21
So Ed, is Mertesacker's injury is sufficiently bad to warrant replacement?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal were considering signing a centre back anyway, so his injury is enough to spur that action.}

So refreshing to see a determined performance like that, well done to the players I thought we were very good today.

PeterC

1.) 23 Apr 2017 17:54:23
Yep

It where's that determination been?

Well done chaps.

2.) 23 Apr 2017 18:23:24
I'm in shock! That was like watching a George Graham Arsenal suddenly playing sexy football like Barcelona or the invincibles!
Now? what? why? I'm totally staggered by what i just watched from this bunch of individuals in Arsenal shirts! determination discipline effort committment resilience? It's all to much I'm going to have sit down and compose myself before i start thinking they might actually care after all.

3.) 23 Apr 2017 18:24:36
Yep - some great determination, effort, passion and actual shape except for the goal

Big big shout out to Gabs, Holding and Ox.

Evening Ed002,

Just out of curiosity ........
Thanks in advance.

PeterC

{Ed002's Note - As I have said, I really don't want to get in to this Peter.}

1.) 31 Jan 2017 07:09:27
No problem, thanks ed

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for understanding.}

22 Sep 2016 21:56:36
Evening all,

I would just like to pay homage to Arsene Wenger. 20 years ago today he joined Arsenal football club and love him or loath him he revolutionised our great club and completely changed English football as a whole.

Thanks for the great memories Arsene, a true, true legend of modern day football.

PeterC

13 Sep 2016 21:43:48
Not a great performance but 1-1 away from home against probably the group favourites will do.

Wengers decision making is strange, when will he realise sanchez can't play up top on his own, completely different player when he's put out on the wing.

PeterC

1.) 14 Sep 2016 13:50:56
Pete it could also be down to the way we set up and play. Sanchez for me could play any position in attack but when he plays middle he needs someone like him on the wings who breaks their neck to support.

23 Jul 2016 12:36:18
Afternoon Eds and all,

Any word on reports this morning that Mahrez is on his way to Arsenal or is it paper sh#te as usual?

Thanks in advance.

PeterC

1.) 23 Jul 2016 13:50:18
If it is true, I can't see us getting a striker. I think Sanchez might be used, which I don't mind as he plays there for chile and is very good in that position.

2.) 23 Jul 2016 15:09:59
Agree mark, it's looking less n less likely that a top top striker will come in, I am all for sticking Alexis at the spearhead of our attack, he could be outrageous.

But we will still need someone of the calibre of Sanchez on the wing to replace him if that was the case.

3.) 23 Jul 2016 16:22:28
Even if we use the same set up as France. With Giroud and Sanchez both up front.

Thanks Ed, I thought we would have an interest in Matuidi but obviously not. PSG will have an incredible team if the manage to sign both Neymar and Sanchez.

PeterC

{Ed002's Note - Sure but PSG has a lot of players they are moving on and if Arsenal agree to a discussion they will not want to complicate matters.}

Thanks for coming back Ed002. Do you think if a deal for Sanchez goes through it will be a straight cash deal or will PSG include some players in the transfer i. e. Aurier, Matuidi, Rabiot? Any response is appreciated.

PeterC

{Ed002's Note - They may consider discussing players at the same time but Arsenal would have no interest in discussing players they are not looking to.}

You know 99% of posters on here really value your inside knowledge, come back Ed and say h#ck you to the morons.

We need a sharkopod mate:)
