I hope bringing in new players helps, however if we keep playing the same way I don't who can help. Our build up play is too slow, if the opposition doesn't already have 10 behind the ball, recycling across the back line, 3 or 4 it does't matter which, gives them time to get their shape. Bellerin rarely has a wide option ahead of him, he plays inside, gets it back and then cycles across the back, ( hopefully not to Mert. ) . At this point if the opposition decides to press we are more than likely to cough up a chance. Wilshire has added some pace to the midfield, and wants to go forward with purpose, he and Giroud worked well together, hopefully he can link up with Lacazette, we need to find a way to get him more involved. I hope we can keep Ozil. Sanchez, wonderful player, much lately about him giving the ball away, he has always done this, but he used to chase and win it back. Our defensive mid, lacking, however if they a back line to defend their job might be easier.

Not much to disagree with there!

2.) 15 Jan 2018 20:35:00
That’s why I prefer 4 at the back mate.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 22:31:00
We need to revert back to 433/ 4231, there pretty clueless when it comes to 5 at the back don’t ya think?

4.) 15 Jan 2018 23:02:00
Je, no, nothing to do with formation. I seem to remember a few 10 8 and 6 goals let in with a back four. We won the fa cup with a back four and a back three. I don't see it being that simple.

We could play 6 at the back and it will make no difference because we don't defend as a team and therefore the defense get horribly exposed time and time again. I am sure if I said we were going to sign Jones and Smalling as our new CD, s most on here would be horrified, and yet look at their stats and they are appear miles better. However it's because Man Utd defend better as a team. It's no coincidence that Maureen signed Matic, as he knows how important that type of player is.

We don't seem to have a player in the starting 11 that knows how to tackle, everytime Xhaka goes in I almost look at the ref to see which card it will be, Jack goes in and you look towards the bench/ stretcher. Mert at 6ft 4 is not only useless on the ground but, also in the air! Koscielny is the only player I put any trust in when it comes to making a challenge anywhere near the box. To think, we have Steve Bould as an assistant yet so feckin clueless as a defensive unit!

8.) 16 Jan 2018 09:00:15
Yeah we need to defend much better as a team and a lot is down to having no midfielders with any decent defensive mindset or intelligence to notice the dangers. The amount of times we don't track runners from midfield is shocking and this is making the back 3 or 4 look worse than it actually is. Another big wekaness is this zonal marking nonsense we insist on at defending corners nobody seems willing to go and take responsiblity and attack the ball to clear it. Everybody seems to pass the buck to somebody else. The amount of times opposing teams get free headers in our box is incredible and has to stop. You need to be hard to score againts before anything else if you want any hope of being competative at the top.

My wife was half listening to the Norwich game while I was watching. She thought we had two players with double barrelled names, Maitland-Niles and Walcott-Offside.

Very impressed with right back Hildeberto Pereira, for Forrest, on loan from Benfica. With Bellerin again linked with Barcelona And City, we may be looking for a new Rt back soon.

Right now, I'm not sure any top player would want a move to Arsenal.

Like, at 1-1 Hazard gets a second yellow for diving, = a red card, but upon review. A penalty is awarded, second yellow rescinded. Mustafi gets a red card for stopping a goal scoring opportunity, Hazard, recovers from his life threatening injury to score from the spot. Chelsea win 2-1.
