Pleasant day to you Ed,

A quick question: is there any interest in Sokratis, the CB from Dortmund? I think he would be a great signing, and he's pretty underutilized at BVB.

Thank you,

Hey Eds,

I used the search function, but I didn't see anything relevant.

- What do you think about the J. Campbell + cash for Balotelli rumour?

- Do you think qualifying for the CL would make this more likely?

Thanks for the good work!

Good Morning Eds,

Questions about the Balotelli situation:

- Do you think that Milan are trying to sell the player?

- Do you think that Balotelli is keen for a move away from the club to play in the Champions League?

- Most importantly, do you think Wenger would take a chance on him if Milan's asking price is reasonable?

Thanks for everything, very much appreciated.

Have a great weekend,
Trinidad-Gooner

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - he could still move.}

1.) He would bag us 25 goals. #Simples

Hey Eds,

What do you make of the Balotelli stories? In your opinion, do you think it's possible Wenger might take a gamble on him at a cut price, or do you think it's just rumorus?

Thanks, really appreciate it.

Hey Eds,

Do we have interest in Christian Beneteke? Do you see a striker being signed this summer even though we have already bought Sanchez?

Thanks,

Happy Friday everyone,

Ed, heard a rumour that Joel Campbell will be heading to Newcastle with Tiote coming in the opposite direction this January. Apparently Pardew let slip on the weekend?

Do you think there's anything to this? Why the f#*k would Wenger hold onto JC and not play him when his stock was so high post World Cup?

Thanks as always,
Trinidad-Gooner

{Ed002's Note - Twitter is this?}

Poor Joel Campbell is waste at Arsenal, he will never get regular first team football, especially now that Walcott is back and Giroud will be back in afew weeks. He has great potential and I really hoper Wenger sells him abroad.

But for Tiote? No thanks, he's not the CDM we are looking for, if Alex Song wasnt deemed good enough then Tiote certainly isnt. I know AC Milan were interested in Campbell in the summer, maybe a straight swap for Nigel De Jong? (I know thatll never happen)

2.) Haha

I'm actually not sure, someone posted it on another blog but said "inside sources" confirmed there is interest.

*rolls eyes*

Just wondering if you had heard anything, or if you could provide insight on why Arsene kept Joel Campbell if he did not have plans to use him, while there were numerous clubs interested in him post World Cup?

It just doesn't make sense, Wenger loves to complain about Chelsea's and Citeh's financial doping, but we throw money away on our wage bill like it's going out of style!

Anyways, I value your opinion on things so I was just curious.

Thanks again,
Trinidad-Gooner

3.) I feel sorry for JC, but to be honest with Walcott and Gnarby back we already have plenty of options. I can see a team like Sporting Lisbon being an ideal location for him to ply his trade and am perhaps 'falsely' hoping that we will use him as part of a deal to sign Carvhello in January. It would be extremely disappointing if he went to Newcastle in exchange for Tiote instead though, a bit like trading the Jag for a Fiat.

I apologize in advance for a lengthy rant lol.

We need to ditch this 4-1-4-1 ASAP, our team is heavily unbalanced and this formation is only being used to try to paper over the cracks.

Why would you buy a 43 million pound CAM and put him out on the wing? This after Ozil came out himself and said he prefers the number 10 position.

Why are we trying to play 5 players who all want to occupy the same positions on the field? It's like 5 guys all vying for the same spot, it's not going to work.

You have Arteta Jack and Rambo who are all central players, you then have Ozil on the wing who is always trying to cut in and play centrally, as well as Sanchez who likes to cut infield as well.

What Wenger has done is basically marginalize Ozil to the wing in order to play his two B2B midfielders together, in Jack and Rambo.

Also, this limits what Sanchez can do offensively, as he is playing deeper and further away from goal, this also leaves our CF isolated.

This is done to protect Arteta, so that he is not left isolated in open field having to close down space, but as we saw in Dortmund, this does not work against formidable opposition.

I don't have enough time to mention all the problems at the club at the moment, but it must be said, mismanaging the transfer window to the point where we are forced to throw a kid (Bellerin) in at the deep end in one of the most challenging grounds to play in, is criminal.

No other top club would go into a season with only 6 senior defenders, one of whom is a 19 year-old rookie. We are now one serious injury away from being in a crisis situation in September!

With our injury record, it should have been obvious to Wenger that we would most likely be in this situation. But amazingly, Wenger is the one who takes all the blame.

Arsene is a very good manager who used to be great, but the game of football has changed and is leaving him (and us) behind.

He has his strengths and weaknesses, but what nobody mentions is that he was just given a new contract, which implies that his employer (Kroenke) is happy with the job he has done over the last 5 years.

To me, this should be more worrying than any managerial issue we may have, the fact that our owner seems to have no ambition to push for major trophies, and is more than happy to carry on with the low risk, steady reward business model that has seen us remain in 4th place mediocrity for as long as I can remember now.

Arsenal is about making money, that's why we aim for top 4, to continue to bring in the Champions League revenue while providing minimal investment in the first team, doing the minimum to keep the fans happy while maximizing revenue.

We are rolling in money (5th richest football club in the world), yet Arsenal FC would have us believe that we must continue to work on a tight budget.

During these troubling times, many Gunners are calling for Wenger to step down and for a young, ambitious manager with fresh ideas to take the helm. While I am in favor of this, I do not believe that the intentions of the club will change until change is made at the ownership level.

I pray that I am proved wrong,

Thank you for listening,

In Arsenal we trust,

{Ed025's Note - minimal investment TG?..tight budget?..hello..ozil, sanchez, and not forgetting chambers, thats nigh on £100m for them 3 mate..

Doesnt matter how many games on it is, i'm right.
We have played poorly in every game this season

We have 6 defenders - ones already injured, ones a rookie and one is too old and slow to play our high line

Our captain was barely good enough when we bought him. Now he's our captain amd a guaranteed starter-what a joke.

We have a luxury player on 130k a week who only plays ONE position and is being played out of position.

We have ozil, alexis, podolski, ox, gnabry, rosicky, walcott competing for just 2 positions in the starting xi!

We have 2 mediocre strikers, one of whom is injured.

Im not being negative i'm living in the real world.

We are not winnimg the league or champions league this year, infact, we are not even competing.

2.) Hey Ed,

Yeah that is true, we spent a decent amount and brought in five players, but all except for Sanchez were direct replacements for players that left.

- Ospina for Fabianski
- Debuchy for Sagna
- Chambers for Vermaelen
- Welbeck for Giroud (injury)

Only Sanchez was an actual addition, and if Giroud didn't get injured, AW was prepared to go into this season with only Giroud and Sanogo as our CFs again.

Original AG, I agree with almost everything you said man, just poor man management and preparation.

Just want to say thanks to all the Eds who put up with our sh!t throughout the Transfer Window, I don't know what we would do without you.

Job well done and as always, very much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I will pass it on to those more deserving than I, such as Ed025, and those less deserving too ....... such as Ed007 ;o)}

Trinidad,

You have stars and superstars.

Cars and super cars.

Class players and super class players.

We don't have Eds, we have super Eds.

If Carlsberg, well you get my point :-)

2.) Dags u happy with welbeck. he is good buy for uses as long as used play him as st not lm he will score 10 plus goals

3.) 09 Sep 2014 17:13:23
Hi Bretto,

I agree but I'm going to see your 10 goals and raise it to 16 league goals, which I think will be very decent in his 'first' season.

4.) 10 Sep 2014 08:37:28
I see your 16 dags and raise you to 22

5.) Yeh I was thinking 10 15 but wenger play giroud I love myself when he comes back

Hey Ed,

(a) Balotelli said he's leaving, is he really going to Liverpool?

(b) Do you see Arsenal getting another forward/striker?

Thanks,
Trinidad-Gooner

{Ed002's Note - (a) Yes. (b) Yes.}

If we do drop our interest in Khedira, which I hope is true, what would you guys say to bringing Alex Song back on the cheap?

Given that he can be more disciplined and not go bombing forward and leave us exposed at the back, he can play both CDM and CB.

Khedira wants to earn equal/more than Ozil does, so no thank you, try Monaco.

Thoughts?

I think song was a liability and many was happy he went. Think it'll be a step in the wrong direction. Would much prefer schnidelin or bender

2.) 21 Jul 2014 17:44:56
As my old man used to say "You never take an ex bird back"

3.) I don't fancy all the needles free kicks he used to concede around our box, so undisciplined in his position that he was always chasing back rather than facing attacks.
And before anyone states he laid a few nice assists on for RVP, that wasn't his job so it doesn't cancel out the goals we concede from his sloppy play

4.) Yea I agree 100% that he is not ideal, not by any stretch of the imagination.

I would definitely prefer Schneiderlin or one of the Benders, but if none of them are feasible, would you rather have Song back, or go through another season with only Arteta and Flamini? (oh yeah, and Diaby ;) lol)

"You never take an ex bird back" - Haha I completely agree mate, but again, would you rather have an ex bird back? or no bird at all?

I like the look of Schneiderlin.

Worked his way up from the lower leagues, 2 good consecutive seasons now in the EPL, led the league in tackles last year, I think he and Ramsey in the pivot would make for a great partnership for years to come.

Sign him up.

Okay, I understand.

By "big" signing, I really meant a top quality player in any of our positions of need: striker, CDM, or RB.

Thanks though,
