Question for you Gunners out there:

If Wenger does go in the summer, what kind of manager would you wish to replace him? A team builder for the longer term, or someone who will come in (ie longer transition, clear out, start again etc - but better foundations) or spend big in your weaker positions/ keep what you have and try to get success straightaway?

Someone who can coach and not just trust players to go out and do their thing.

2.) 16 Feb 2017 13:28:19
Agree Steve. But why did that change. Is it just with age or as football has progressed? He never used to be like this.

3.) 16 Feb 2017 13:27:56
Both mate! Someone who can come in and make an immediate impact (in 2 seasons) like mourinho will do at united. And stay as long as he's successful (unlike Wenger )

4.) 16 Feb 2017 14:27:38
Who would that be for you then?

5.) 16 Feb 2017 19:53:50
Thing is even with a bright new forward thinking manager we swill still have a stingy board and owners above him. In my opinion the only way we will compete again at the very top level is a Usamanov takeover and a serious injection of cash. We need to basically do what Chelsea and City had to do and throw silly transfer and wages money out in order to get better players that will actually improve us. While the current board is here we will never attract the players that will improve us.

6.) 16 Feb 2017 22:57:22
I think a manager who's not afraid the make wholesale changes to playing staff. We don't even need someone to come in and spend huge money to make that happen as with the amount of players who could potential leave in the summer we'd raise large sums of cash from their departures.

Potentially leaving could be:
Ramsey, Whilshere, Joel Campbell, Debuchy, Jenkinson, Szczesny, Monreal, Chambers. There're also doubts over Ozil, Sanchez and Ospina.

That would reduce the wage bill by a big chunk and wouldn't really affect our squad depth either!

Spuds manager poch. I would do what it takes in turn it would break spurs worth 50 million in his bank account.

Morning Ed002! Please forgive me if this wasn't you, but a few days ago I seem to remember that hinted on this site that Bayern Munich are gearing up for a sea-change, a complete change of direction.

I'm really curious about what they're thinking: am guessing that they're moving from using the two ageing wingers to more Guardiola-friendly system of possession football, keeping Muller as their focus but having no need for the bigger aerial threat of lewandowski.

With Sweinsteiger leaving and maybe Benatia - and Vidal coming in - would be most grateful if you might provide an insight into their forthcoming revolution.

No worries if you don't have time! Many thanks

{Ed002's Note - This isn't the page for it - the European pages are. And I am reluctant to explain it again as there was abuse when I did, but they know they have changes to make with an aging squad (particularly key players) and a change of manager coming. So you can see they need to do something.}

Okay, thanks for taking the time to reply so quickly. I'll search the other pages. Don't know why people would abuse you for simply explaining new philosophies at another club though! Hope you keep deleting these pancakes as you are at the Utd site: much pleasanter atmosphere on there now.

Will post on right page next time - thanks again for your time - much appreciated.

For what it's worth I've been pretty grateful for what juiciness we do get, always feels a little like a secret club to be able to hear stuff from you guys as it's always without the bullshit you see on Tw*tter and the like. Some people just can't deal with stuff they don't want to hear, unfortunately

Love the Sharkpods Ed! Really entertaining and informative! Perhaps you might JUST post a Sharkie on each site rather than than having to repeat the same stuff over and over again, or face irritating questions (and we wouldn't face the prospect of losing you because of toxics, as happens every window! ) That might then save you some time, as you're clearly a very busy man! (Though would miss the caustic Ed002 put-downs! )

Agree whole-heartedly Gunner - given the context and passion from posters on these sites, we must adhere to the Respect agenda on here just as much as we should when we're watching our young lads play at the weekend or chatting to rival supporters on the way home.

Can imagine the abuse and trolling Eds get from some posters - am imagining the loud and brash dad on the sidelines abusing the ref after their lad is pushed over or they disagree with a decision.

Every ref deserves respect, even if some refs are stricter than others about applying the rules. Thus we must respect the Eds on this site, especially given all the hard work they put in for free (like the poor Sunday league official who steps in to help out then gets it in the ear from know it all parents in the sideline) . Ed002 is transfer info ONLY, no questions or "banter" - brilliant info too, from the highest, most credible levels. Ed001 and the others also do a brilliant job, thanks to all of you.

(Hoping you'll return to the very respectful Manchester United page soon! )

Read various reports about suspect temperament.

Another Ravel Morrisson maybe...

Maybe you'll go through the barricades if it's true.

Well said. we are a proud democratic country - no one should be punished for having valid opinions.

As E. V. Hall famously remarked:

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. "

DG, guessing your favourite players are Purr Mertesacker and Theo Walcatt.

I'm here all week.

Think you Gunners should stop worrying: eds suggesting Benzema available and I think you'll be favourites to get him.

If this happens, think you'll be Prem challengers this year - with or without Carvalho (though that Polish fella Krych... Better player, more in Matic mould)

In fact, if we get striker/CB (and City/Chelsea stay as they are), then title battle between United and Arsenal could well be the story of the season.
