akuma Asano has been denied a work permit, will not play for arsenal this season and been told to leave if he wishes to play. What an absolute joke this club has become. Ruined this player and wasted the transfer fee and wages. He talks about value for money, really good value Arsene.

1.) 21 Aug 2016 12:12:35
The truth is, its nothing new. We do it time after time. It would have or will be another wellington situation.

2.) 21 Aug 2016 12:23:14
Sorry but why is everyone up in arms about this. We knew the work permit was an issue. I believe ed002 said that as he was signing. And il put my money on assano being aware there may have been issues. He's one for the future hopefully. We knew the permit would be an issue. Just looking for things to moan about.

3.) 21 Aug 2016 13:30:36
Well said D16. It's laughable the amount of things Arsenal fans moan about. and very boring.

4.) 21 Aug 2016 13:51:58
No one is moaning just stating a fact, can't even send him on loan to get experience. So D16 you are happy with this and never complain about anything is that right? Or your complaints are valid and no one else is aloud an opinion?

5.) 21 Aug 2016 14:25:48
Well Asano destiny will be like Miyaichi.

6.) 21 Aug 2016 14:28:12
Lol ha ha ha

It's a bloody joke, and Wenger is supposed to be intelligent.

7.) 21 Aug 2016 14:35:01
Andy, why can't we loan him out?
Genuine question incase I'm missing something.
He can't get a work permit, but that doesn't mean we can't loan him abroad, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, all leagues he can head to as far as I'm aware!

{Ed001's Note - glad you asked that as there is absolutely no reason I am aware of that he cannot go out on loan.}

8.) 21 Aug 2016 14:52:07
Ok you said about him not having a permit and then said what a joke of a club we've become. If that's not you moaning can you please give me warning when you are going to moan so I can just throw my laptop against the wall so I don't see it! Thanks

P. s I appreciate everyone's opinion as stated many of times. But when someone starts talking rubbing I will disagree.

9.) 21 Aug 2016 15:10:33
Surely if he goes on loan and he plays in Europe he will get a permit.

10.) 21 Aug 2016 15:13:20
Media says he cannot be loaned out and Arsene said he can leave arsenal if he wishes. Media may well be wrong.

11.) 21 Aug 2016 15:17:25
Yes we can loan him abroad but according to media wenger wanted him to be loaned in the English premier league. It may well be usual media speculation, just my opinion is that is not very good business really that's all I'm saying after arsene said he only spends when it is good value. This is not good value transfer fees and wages.

12.) 21 Aug 2016 17:11:21
It might be good value in a few years though.

You're just moaning for the sake of it.

Plus, I don't understand how this has ruined the player. can you elaborate?!

13.) 21 Aug 2016 18:05:02
Remember when we tried to sign messi but had work permit issues. Glad we didn't push that through and loaned him out.

14.) 21 Aug 2016 20:08:05
Half the fans problems is that they listen to the media, Who constantly make up these stories to get a reaction, something Arsenal fans are more than happy to do.

29 Jun 2015 19:07:30
Have just seen a video conference of Vidal saying he will not move to arsenal as will be a step down. Looks like he won't be signing.

1.) 29 Jun 2015 19:41:59
Lol mate, it's an edited clip hahahaha

2.) 29 Jun 2015 19:50:49
You do realise that video is fan made. The subtitles do not match what he's saying. It was a joke aimed at trolling Arsenal. Can't believe people fell for it.

3.) 29 Jun 2015 20:42:16
Never really lol

4.) 29 Jun 2015 21:00:20
brillaint love how you have fell for that ha

24 Aug 2014 14:13:47
Eds, is there any interest from Arsenal for Julian Draxler or has the interest gone. Been long time since his name was being mentioned. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Right now I would think the interest remains but at nothing like the asking price.}

1.) Ed any developments on Cavani or updates news?

{Ed025's Note - not at this time viper mate..

2.) Arsene wenger is starting to annoy me

3.) Wenger is annoying you for not blowing 50 million and 300k per week for an overrated, overpaid player? Ok then.

4.) I know, what an ars3 trying to manage a successful football team whilst keaping the club financially stable, what an person he is -.-

5.) Come on guys we can do with a remy or even an Hunterlaar on our team.

24 Sep 2013 08:23:03
Arsenal have signed a 19 year old International defender from Nigeria called Semi Ajayi. Is he one for the future or is he ready now please Eds.
Thanks. {Ed001's Note - I am told by Charlton staff that he has a lot of potential but is not ready yet for the first team. They were also under the impression he was signed by the U21s, rather than the first team, as a development player.}

1.) Signed perm deal and straight in academy

2.) This is a bit of a strange one. A few months ago, he was lining up for Norwich City U21 squad in pre-season, and they have a habit of not telling people who they have brought into their academy (I know, living in Norwich and going to select games at Carrow Road - Games where Arsenal attend).

Not sure what the circumstances there were though, and it looks as if he either didn't make the grade at Norwich, or he turned down their approaches in sight of a bigger deal, with a better club (No disrespect, but Arsenal are a huge club in comparison), ending up at Arsenal.

31 Aug 2013 21:02:43
I have heard a rumour today which, to be honest has got to be total rubbish, I hope. We are apparently interested in Soloman Kalou. Eds please tell me someone is winding me up, surely this can't be true.

1.) That will finish us off got and proper, is anybody doing anything??

2.) As a back-up/bench player I think he'd be good, especially with the injuries to the team. He did well for Lille last season, can play both wings and is at present playing as a centre-forward for Lille. Apparently he has a release clause of a couple of million. What's not to like?

Obviously the caveat would be that Kalou shouldn't be a first-team signing.

3.) He would be an awful signing, no point getting rid of Gervinho only to replace him with Kalou.

26 Apr 2018 13:22:43
For me the first choice should be Patrick Vierra. He would be very disciplined and demand every ounce of effort out of each and every player during training and during a match. He would certainly be my first choice.

1.) 26 Apr 2018 13:37:34
I certainly wouldn't be unhappy with him Andy, a little uncertain maybe but certainly not unhappy :-)

01 Aug 2017 05:41:26
Betting on Thomas Lemar has been suspended at 1 book maker. Fingers crossed.

1.) 01 Aug 2017 07:10:43
Getting a strong feeling that Sanchez is off and Lemar is close to being agreed as his replacement. I believe Ox will leave as well. Ozil is different, unless one of the big teams come in, I can't see him getting a deal anywhere close to what he is being offered by Arsenal.
We are having a problem selling/ releasing our overpaid, underachieving or unhappy squad members;
Gibbs, Debuchy, Wilshere, Perez, Chambers, Ospina, Campbell and possibly Akpom as well.
Reine-Adelaide could benefit from a loan deal.
It's worrying that we are entering the season with so many players on short deals or being unable to leave due to their current wages being so high.

2.) 01 Aug 2017 10:24:38
I'd let all those who don't want to extend their contact leave if they will go that is:-)
Some simply can't afford to leave while others are know next summer they can pick and chose who where and virtually how much they earn.

20 Aug 2016 18:41:59
Watching this is so so boring, we desperately need a striker. Sanchez hasn't got a clue up front.

1.) 20 Aug 2016 19:58:37
Sanchez looks lost up front he needs to stay out wide on right were he can drift more in space. He not physical and string enough with is back to goal to play that role. We need a reliable striker but seriously doubt we will get one now.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 22:53:27
Two games on the trot wenger has took sanchez out of the game, with his formation.

20 Aug 2016 07:15:20
Arsene using Sanchez as the striker against Leicester as he is the best option, why doesn't he just buy a striker that will score 20+ goals. Lacazette for one.

1.) 20 Aug 2016 09:38:51
And one who would replace Olly as our number one striker? I think that's the real problem for Arsene.
Williams would have become first choice to partner Kos making Gabriel and Mertesacker bit part players instead of sharing the role.
Draxler would play week in week out no games for Ox and Theo
And any top striker would also play each week meaning either no Olly or if we played two strikers no Aaron or Elneny or Xhaka and what about Jack?
Arsene struggled with having to leave out Ospina for Cech last season simply because he and his players are so close that work decisions have to often come second to keeping people happy.
I think this is the real reason behind our lack of activity and the spending less of an issue than we have all thought in the past.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 11:15:48
Gunner - I think you are right. He has to find someone good enough to justify dropping Giroud who is pretty damn good. Squad harmony and competition.
Leicester demonstrated the importance of harmony.
Ties in with - the player has to improve the team

To upgrade Giroud - it's expensive and limited choice due to top strikers being happy at big big clubs and our budget.

Hernandez would do nicely
Williams would have been great
Draxler on the wing for pace and directness
Plus a fullback.

3.) 20 Aug 2016 11:50:00
SY mate he doesn't want to find them, Artetta Rosicky last season Diarby before them Theo 10 yeaes of unrealised potential Mertesacker! None would have been around so long at Spurs Everton Liverpool let alone utd City or Chelsea.
Arsene likes to keep it cosy and unfortunately that doesn't lead to a team with the right attitude or mentality to compete for big prizes.

4.) 20 Aug 2016 13:18:20
G62, you are spot on man! Top managers need to be ruthless in this day and age and have to be willing to drop players if they are playing poorly, or if someone better comes along. The fact that Wenger isn't, and would rather Arsenal be the good mates primary school club where everyone gets a turn and winning or losing doesn't matter as long as you play and try your best shows a complete lack of professionalism from him.
You're bang on about the mentality as well! I think the adage 'Complacency is the enemy of success" applies to our players.
I can the the squad undergoing a massive overhaul when we finally get a new manager in charge.

5.) 20 Aug 2016 14:33:02
We don't necessarily need to replace giroud we need something different up front. And two frigging center halfs. Digging ourselves a hole.

6.) 20 Aug 2016 15:35:22
That's why if we do buy we will buy alternative to Olly that won't obviously displace him making him number 2 as Lacazette would.

04 Aug 2016 17:34:57
Is this what you were looking for Sforza.

As football fans it is best you avoid any thoughts about the finances as it tends to confuse everyone. However, it might be an apt time to explain again about the cost of transfers (excluding wages) . What is paid by the buying club would typically include:
(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA - 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee - typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees - this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £45M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this window) .
(e) Tax due on the agent fees - typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from - it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees - this may be to one or more sponging leeches (what do you mean you have a super agent? ) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees - typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from - it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered) .
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/ relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/ relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived) .

What is paid by the selling club would typically include:
(a) If the player is under 24 and moving between different football associations, a Solidarity contribution paid to his previous clubs responsible for his training - this is 5% of the transfer fee received (apportioned 5% of the contribution for each year from the season of his 12th birthday to the season of his 15th birthday and 10% of the contribution for each season from his 16th to 23rd birthdays) .
(b) If the player moves to a higher category club (all clubs being categorised 1 to 4) then Training Compensation is due for the period of age 12 to 21. Compensation is due to all clubs when the player turns from amateur to professional and thereafter only when he moves from his final training club to another club. The initial training compensation is levied at the training costs associated with Category 4 clubs. The subsequent figure is agreed between the sides or tribuneral if necessary.
(c) Any monies owed to the player if he did not request a transfer - again this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(d) Any monies owed to the player in terms of his contract (typically outstanding owed wages (not future wages) and bonuses) .
(e) Any money contractually due to a previous club as the result of a sell-on clause.

1.) 04 Aug 2016 19:45:52
If you take all those sums and add subtract, multiply and divide by zero I think you will find the result very interesting.

2.) 04 Aug 2016 21:08:02
That's the one! Thanks, Andy.

It's interesting to see just how many "hidden" fees go on top of the transfer fee.

3.) 05 Aug 2016 09:01:39
Your welcome sforza.

He will end up at Chelsea. Arsnal do the negotiating, find the fee and Chelsea swoop. Back to normal i'd say.

Everyones gone mad, your all deluded. Alexis should be gone, ozil is not interested. We will be lucky to finish in a Europa place. Wenger is a disgrace. The ox had the right idea Arsenal is an absolute shambles and it won't change until Wenger has gone.

According to some media the bid of 16.9m has been rejected as arsenal wish to pay in 2 installments. I don't believe that but it wouldn't surprise me.

Apparently a playing partner is disappointed he is leaving and suggestions are £29m for him. Is this a hint he is on his way?

What I don't get is he has made mertesacker the captain who won't be playing for months, what message does that send to the rest of team. He must sign a striker and cb they are an absolute minimum.

Zonal marking is the problem, go back to man marking and we would improve.
