if we keep this dire run going, which looks like we will, i'm going for us finishing in 9th. there are teams just below us who we still have to play and they are going to be bang up for it against our lot, who are shot to bits.

p.s we will get spanked in Italy on Thursday. i don't know much about Usminov but from bits and bobs i read about him, sounds like he would be willing to put in the work and cash to help move us forward. the only thing i wouldn't be sure of is the fact he's quite a wWenger fan or has that changed.?

Kronk won't sell hos cash cow anyway, he needs us for his, cough, cough, sporting empire.

2.) 04 Mar 2018 20:14:08
arbie I think Usmamov was pro Arsene to keep himself popular among Arsenal fans at that time, if Usmamov had got control 2 seasons back Arsene wouldn't be our manager today in my opinion.

morning, we were told that moving to the new stadium would make us compete with the so called super clubs. the only thing that we are competitive in is our stock market value.

you hear Gazidis talk and the first thing that comes out of his mouth is sustainable business model etc. well let me tell you, our great club has sustained itself for over a century, so stop talking rubbish and start talking about getting the players to do their jobs properly i.e defenders are paid to stop goals going in, midfielders are paid to take control of the battle zone and the forwards, yes you got it are supposed to put the ball in the back of the net, simples.

i don't like saying this as i respect Mr. Wenger and what he has done for the club, but he is definitely a reactive coach and not proactive like he was many moons ago. Reactive means you're already in a bit of trouble and you got to do something about it. Proactive means you stop the trouble from hitting the fan in the first place.

P.S. if we do win the cup on Sunday (highly unlikely), we will just be papering over them cracks again. # time for big change.

It is Wenger who refuses to spend as he believes in a profitable business model. The board to the best of my knowledge has never refused Wenger funds and indeed, Gazidis on occasions has publicly stated that funds are available. Former director Keith Edelman was sacked after stating that Wenger could spend £100m if he so desired.
The PL has moved on since the new stadium was built and clubs such as Man C, Man U and Chelsea have enormous resources.

2.) 23 Feb 2018 22:22:31
I agree again arbie Arsene is no longer proactive but to me the biggest problem of all is he is only reactive when he's totally 1000% ready to accept that something or someone hasn't or isn't any longer working out.
Weaknesses every pundit and sports writer has highlighted time and time again for 2 or 3 years Arsene still refuses to see until he personally comes round to admitting it.
We had no top keeper until Cech for years, have had no DM since Gilberto although stand Le Coq did a decent job next to Caz and had no out and out natural goal scorer capable of converting all those chances we were creating but Arsene just refused to listen to what anyone and everyone was saying until he was good and ready.
Xhaka and Iwobi are just the latest additions to where Arsene refuses to accept what is plain for everyone else to see.
I like Arsene the person and he was the best manager we've ever had but that was a very long time ago now and he's been taking us backwards for years now.

iwobi = stand up comedian. we could not keep a clean sheet in a laundrette. fellow gooners i would so love to say, we will win this comp. but i can't and in all honesty. out in the next round for me. tonight was very very poor. # ground hog day.

Don't under estimate our ability to shock either way arbie mate, we are every bit as likely to overcome AC over two legs as we are to crash out the worst side left in the competition.
As Forest Gump would say " Arsenal are like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get "

throw-back. my first ever arsenal game. at highbury 15th of august 1987. arsenal v liverpool, baking hot summers day. what a game. we lost 2-1 that day, but what a game. our squad for the 87/ 88 season. gks= lukic and wilmot, (def) =sansom, o'leary, adams, caesar, winterburn, dixon, (mids) =thomas, williams, rocastle, davis, richardson, rix, marwood, (fw) smith, groves, nicholas, hayes, quinn and two break through players by the names of kevin campbell and paul merson. managed by mr george graham. ( bloody good squad) .

the older lot will probably agree. & for the younger lot. try and give your self a history lesson on our great club you will enjoy. any way that squad consisted of 18 english men,2 irish men,1 scotsman and 1 welshman. these players are the one's who ignited my love for this great club. because even though they lost that day. they all worked hard. they gave everything. they played for the badge and that's why i remember the names. #1game1❤.

Blimey, Steve Williams.
There's a name I have'nt heard in a few years.

2.) 03 Mar 2018 20:43:26
Great player but unfortunately his attitude didn't match Dags.
George built teams that Windows lose or draw battled for every ball every piont, where they pretty to watch not always and towards the end hardly ever but you never had to ask will they be bothered today.
We need that feeling of expecting our team to turn up in every game back again asap.
I don't mind if we don't always win or always play well as long as our players always give everything in every game, that has to be a given when you ask people to bother to watch and support you but that hasn't been the case with Arsenal for years now and that's just wrong.

3.) 03 Mar 2018 22:04:11
At the end they were horrendous to watch and he left the club in a poor state. He finished much lower in the league than Wenger also. I remember the awful cup finals against Wednesday when morrow scored and Linigan.

Funny - I always thought Wenger would hand over a far better youth team and squad than he inherited.

4.) 03 Mar 2018 22:37:20
Just don't mention Jeff Thomas 😂.

5.) 03 Mar 2018 22:55:52
SY you are right mate those finals against Wednesday were horrible, George had to bring back Pual Davis who he'd said he'd never play again for any creativity for Wrighty to get any chances.
Dull but hard working and full of effort and commitment, still miles ahead of today's Arsenal unfortunately mate.

1.) 29 Jan 2018 16:09:38
Yes arbie, its a male chicken.

2.) 29 Jan 2018 16:19:09
I think you call that a cock! The male chicken not NES of course 😂.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 16:43:42
Dear old NES, loves a hashtag, first of all it was #enjoytheride, that didn’t go to plan and it was #toysoutthepram followed by a name change to Durwayne and a load of abuse on the chat page before a return as NES again and now suddenly #itsonlyagame and #bemyfwenddags, well until Kane leaves then he’ll have another melt down.

#blessthepoorbitterlittlespud.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 17:49:59
Stoner, I thought EVERYONE used the hashtag #bemyfwenddags

#duhwaynehadhisdummystolen.

5.) 29 Jan 2018 17:57:25

long time reader 1st time poster, life long gooner, just wanted to say, i can't understand how other clubs will pay 75 mill for a defender, and we look like messing up a deal on a fantastic front man p. e. a for 6o mill. seems a no brainer to me. the lad has mental goal stats. any way just wanted to say hi to you all, my fellow gooners. and ed's.

n. e spur credit where credit is due, even-steven's 1st half but 2nd half your lot played very very well, & we lacked a bit of bite, & not enough urgancy. could have been worse. (bigger score) . so we will dust down and move on. #wealllivetofightanotherday.
