HI ed's, I was just wondering with Schalke admitting that they are letting Juventus speak with Draxler, is there any recent news to suggest that we will go back in for him at all or has that ship sailed completely?

gunnerBreal

{Ed002's Note - Juventus has suggested a figure to Schalke which falls far short of their valuation. They would like the player but their won't be any agreement until a higher figure is offered. Arsenal are the team that have consistently pushed for a deal. The player has given mixed responses to interest from Arsenal and the club has probably moved on for now.}

Thanks Ed002 - shame as at one point I really though he could go on to be a great player, but even and the figures being mentioned now with the injury record i guess it would be to much of a gamble. Plus if he has not shown the desire to come to the club then rather someone that wants to.

Hi Eds
is there any interest from arsenal in Zakaria Bakkali? i read he is coming to the end of his contract and will be a free agent. you mentioned last year that we had looked at him but he was not ready for the epl. he was quite highly rated for the future and could be a decent free transfer.

gunnerBreal

{Ed002's Note - PSVs Zakaria Bakkali has attracted attention from Benfica, Celtic, Manchester United, Chelsea, Zwolle, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Stoke, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Norwich and Augsburg in the past. I spoke with a "specialist" in the Netherlands leagues last summer and he said the player is light years away from first team football in the EPL and any move last summer would have potentially been a dent in his career - although Chelsea did offer to send him to Vitesse Arnhem on loan. A lot of the "bigger" clubs that were interested have seemingly stepped back. A move to Celtic or Zwolle would probably be best for the kid but I am not so sure he sees it that way - Benfica is no longer an option. Very significant baggage but a life line has been offered by Sevilla.}

With city looking like they might tie up a deal for aubameyang I was wondering what peoples thought were on young Kelechi Iheanacho and if the eds knew if city would be willing to look at offers for him or if arsenal had ever shown an interest.
He is a striker i believe could do very very well in the prem.

To be fair, I hadn't given Iheanacho much thought but yes I'd love it if he came to Arsenal. Him or Higuain for me.

2.) 08 Jun 2016 16:11:27
Kanu just got us one Nigerian Wonderkid.

Maybe he can get us another!

lads come on, we should have put one of those chances away but we didnt. but there is still 14 games to play, by sunday we could well be join second 3 points off top.

everyone said this was our best chance but no one said it would be a walk in the park.

there are going to be slip from EVEY team.
This team have NEVER won the league and yet we are all expecting them to take it in their stride, like they have done it before.

We are still very much in with our best chance of winning this league. A bit more composure yesterday and if there keeper had not been so immense then we would all be having a very different conservation about the team, the manager and the squad today.

Perfectly put GBR

The race ain't over by a long shot!

2.) 03 Feb 2016 13:45:36
Our two chances of winning the league are little and fat. League title winners have a solid base/ defence and a quality striker, we don't have either in reality. Couple that with a manager who hasn't got the tools to do the job, it ain't happening. He finds too many opposing team/ managers who go on snuffing him out, he can't put it right, his style of play and tactics are not that required for a title winning formula. he's not taking us forward we are stuck in neutral, we are not a team on the up.

3.) 03 Feb 2016 13:56:04
Spot on mate. The team is good enough to win the title.

4.) 03 Feb 2016 14:24:27
It's simple.

The team are good enough to win the title.

Whether we do is another question.

5.) 03 Feb 2016 17:16:51
Summed it up nicely Dags :)

6.) 03 Feb 2016 19:04:43
Perfect,
Poetry in motion :-)

7.) 03 Feb 2016 23:04:48
Is wether we do it a question?

8.) 04 Feb 2016 08:34:50
agreed Steve it is weather we do, but we are certainly good enough.

of the teams chasing that could win, none really ( poss Tottenham) have what you would call a solid defence, other than KUN, although they are in good form would you really call either world class? not much if at all better than giroud ( but again they are in better form. )

champ league will be over for us soon and I believe that Tottenham and city will progress and that will give us a slight edge also.

AW has apparently be quotes dismissing the link to us buying Benz!!

"I don't know where that story comes from," he said. "That's not happening at the moment, no."

Soooooo that means this is the clearest indication that we WILL be signing him.

well done AW great bit of business.

Yeah, Wenger's comments about players are usually 110% lies.

Especially if you also take into account he finished his answer with something like 'at the moment'.

I'm not saying it means we've made a bid and he's at Colney right now, but I'd say it's safe to say we're interested.

2.) 17 Jul 2015 20:57:35
Yous are really clutching at straws now aren't you?

I know I am prob living in dream land but 2 more sigining and i believe that what ever your preference is we have 2 teams that can compete at the very top

GK - Cech / Shezza
LB - Moneral / Gibbs
CB - Kos / Mert
CB - Gab / Chambers
RB - Debuchy / Bellerin
DM - CARVALHO / Le Coq
CM - Ramsey / Wilshire
LAM - Sanchez / Welbeck
CAM - Ozil / Santi
RAM - Walcott / OX
STK - LACAZETTE / Grioud

both Carvalho and Lacazette seem to be available, even if both a little over priced for current ability, no denying that they would improve the team now and also have great potential to improve further.

I know I have left out other and some bay disagree with the 2 teams i have put, but just thinking out loud.

I hope i am wrong but i really feel we have missed a trick with not signing Martinez.

I just feel that price, age, experience, selfishness were all right for us, I know that people will say he is to old and not played in a high standard of league, but this guy knows where the goal is, scored 7 goals in 8 champ league games last season in a average Porto side, is experienced, we don't need another young striker we need someone for now, this season coming, and at 25 million was cheaper than a lot of the defensive mids we are being linked with.. as I say I hope I am wrong and he doesn't not light up la liga next season, but I really do feel he will.

also read today that Ozil has won the ball back in the opposition half and many times a sanchez this season, and also again been top in the running charts for our teams.
but they are both easy targets and the press pick on them and then everyone jumps on the bandwagon voicing it as their opinion.

dont get me wrong there is room for improvement from both, but 2 of our best performers this season and all they get is stick, and yet we want these guys to renew contracts. where is the love?

hi ed, do you know if it is arsenal preference to let opsina go due to shezza home grown status or is arsenal happy to do business for either keeper?

gunnerBreal

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what the club want to do but there is interest in both.}

Fair point Gunner62, I wasn't having a pop just saying excatly what you just said, but i don't thinks its a lack pf respect from the team just some games your level can drop but also some days thier leve can raise, a lit of the players are now internationals in the lower table clubs.
maybe a lack on concentration, or squad rotation if the payers are feeling the affects of travelling ect?

yes it is our strongest for years and one of the strongest in the league, but if you believe that even against the teams down the foot of the table that we are not going to get moments during a 90 min game where the opposition has decent chances to score then i think it is you that is not giving the teams the respect they deserve.

as you mentioned we are unbeaten since the opening day, yes poor finishing would play a part in that, so would some great defending, hard work, not switching off for the full game and also talking every game seriously, if fact i would suggest that the fact that we are not getting beaten show that we are treating every game with full respect, someday it will just not happen for you as a team but if you switch off or don't respect then you will find yourself losing in this league.

not rose tinted glasses, but what's the point in Moaning for the sale of Moaning and looking for issues when this have been going well this season.

Yes we all wanted the win, but tottenham have proven very difficult to beat in the league so far this season. It was not or best performance at all, however Walcotts shot goes in, Giroud puts it either side, or that stupid pen is got given and we are all saying how wenger got it right.

How about you put forward your discussion without a wenger slant and just say not our best game, no loss but still poss 2 points dropped.

plus side is still no defeat in November. that has to be a good thing.
