Just saw rumours about the clause in vardy's contract.
Could he be a target for us or doesn't his style match us?

The problem is that Vardy is 30 in January. You would have to pay the release fee, which I believe is £20m, plus wages of at least £5m a year for at least 4 years. So an overall minimum cost of £40m, with little chance of a substantial sell on fee, as he would be well into his 30's.

Watching tHe England game and was wondering if Xhaka from gladbache ever was or could be a player of Wengers interrest?

Isn't he defensive enough?

I think he looks like a strong young guy! Strong passing too

Some italian paper claims that we have an agreement with Vidal. Could there be any truth in that?
Cheers

I hope that they are right! What a player!

2.) 21 May 2015 22:05:56
Can you respond Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I haven't read the reports but Juve have no need to sell anyone any more, due to the Champions League TV money they are set to receive. However, they do need to sell to bring in a budget to buy players. It will be either Pogba or Vidal that goes, as they are not willing to sell both (unless money really screams at them to take it!), Pogba is looking to move on, so it is highly unlikely Vidal will go anywhere.}

3.) 21 May 2015 22:59:35
Ed sorry I've got to ask, please shed us some light on Vidal and arsenal.

4.) 22 May 2015 09:10:14
ooops forgot to say that I know nothing of any deal with Arsenal at all, literally just don't know. So I can't say yes or no regarding it.

5.) 22 May 2015 12:35:57
Superb player, would love him at Arsenal. Cech and a top notch striker please....

6.) 22 May 2015 17:10:05
if they need to sell to buy, would it not make more sence to stick with what they have, it would be a struggle to find better players and no guarantee they click. will pogba leave even if they get the treble? i would do all i could to keep him probs win more next year and his value will keep going up for selling him then

{Ed001's Note - Pogba is looking for a move.}

Keep Sanchez and Ozil. Keep any player that have an impact on our 1st team.

Then let Sanchez go for free. 30£ million now or free in the summer is the same, as we have no chances at top 4 without him.

And why are we not going for Mahrez instead of Lemar? PL experience, not old, cheaper and better than all the wingers we have right now (expect Sanchez)

jacobassoignon

1.) 09 Jan 2018 21:47:45
Right now he is better than Sanchez.

Hey all,

Does anybody know the situation with Rein-Adelaine?

For me he was a bit exciting, but he got injured last season.
He was on the bench Vs Köln though, but why wasn't he in the team in the Carabao Cup?

jacobassoignon

1.) 22 Sep 2017 20:30:01
He missed the end of last season with an injury, possibly to his ankle. As far as I can remember he didn't play in the pre-season friendlies, I stand to be corrected if he did.
He is still only 19 and has tremendous potential. Hopefully, we will see him soon.

Just seeing that Juventus have put Bonucci up for sale, is that someone we should go for?

I think he could be amazing for us, especially in a 3 man defence.

1.) 13 Jul 2017 14:12:33
To rich for our blood has Chelsea wrote all over it.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 14:18:25
probably wants to stick around in italy, i remember chelsea were after him so probably not an option for any english team perhaps with him having an established family i'd assume.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 17:12:24
staying in italy. no spring chicken. i'd love laporte or van dijk.

Can anyone calm me a bit down and ensure me that the Ox is going nowhere!

Would hate to see him leave, but more clubs are getting linked with him.

Also, he is great banter ;-)

jacobassoignon

1.) 20 Jun 2017 14:10:04
Both Ox and Barkley should move on if they are to progress. Barkley to Arsenal would be a good shout, but no CL football may be a problem.

2.) 20 Jun 2017 15:43:04
Im not sure where Ross would currently get regular champions league football right now with any of the 5 premier participants.
Chelsea no
City no
Spurs no
Utd no
Liverpool not a chance.
Arsenal or staying put are his best available options right now imo.

3.) 20 Jun 2017 16:42:43
Barkley would suit Chelsea, another big headed plank.

4.) 20 Jun 2017 17:08:13
best place for barkley is at everton. although poch could work wonders with him but with alli no space.

5.) 20 Jun 2017 18:00:43
Cl won't be an issue Everton have never been in it since he's been there.

6.) 20 Jun 2017 19:32:20
lol stoner, tell us how you really feel mate.

7.) 20 Jun 2017 19:53:17
I toned it down Sharpie as I didn't want to offend. 😂😂😂

I'm sure one of the eds said he's always out on the lash and thinks he's made it. Needs to sort his act out.

8.) 21 Jun 2017 12:46:37
Just sounds like a typical English footballer then Stoner. i constantly find it embarrassing that foreign born players give much better and more eloquent interviews than our own English players. Classic case that in england you give up an education to gamble on making it in football, whereas football is just part of your overall education on the continent.

Am i the only one who thinks we need new CB as much as a Striker?

The big german tower is far to passive in my opinion. Doesn't meet the oponent. Everyone can make an easy cross or shot on target if Per is in front..

He's too clumpsy for a title contender..

1.) 10 Aug 2015 10:36:50
Agreed never been a fan of mertesacker as he only looks good in games were everyone around him is playing well , kos constantly covers for him when he should just be worrying about his own job , I'd be a happy man if I saw chambers or Gabriel come in for him this season.

2.) 10 Aug 2015 10:43:31
Been saying this since he's been here he no leader! He takes a few minutes just to pass the ball he's too slow and is always makes me nervous watching him Gabriel needs to start

3.) 10 Aug 2015 10:59:59
Personally I'd have paid up his contract and got rid of him the night of the Stoke game and the Liverpool game wouldn't even exist as far as he is concerned but I have to say his last two competitive games have been two of his best.
The cup final he was brilliant and yesterday in the first half especially I thought he looked good, I would definitely play Gabriel ahead of him because I think Gab/Kos partnership could become the best partnership in the league but yesterday alone their were many many worse than MerterDUCKER.

4.) 10 Aug 2015 11:17:14
Mertesacker is our leader in all senses at the back. Am absolutely fine player

5.) 10 Aug 2015 11:50:57
I love Per, he's had some good times with us and to say he's not a leader is a bit off the mark, all you have to do is look to the day he berated Ozil for not staying after the city game.

That said, I think it is time to move on from the BFG.
But Wenger won't, he has too much loyalty to our players.
Sometimes that's great, but you need a ruthless mentality.
You think Jose wouldn't drop terry if he had 2-3 poor games?
Zouma would be in like a shot.

Per's marking isn't great, he's poor in the air considering he's 6'6 and above all, he's just too slow.

Our fullbacks consistently bomb forward, but none more so than Hector, and on that right side, it leaves Per open.
Yes Coquelin covers now, but he can only do so much.
And Koscielny covering Per distracts him from his duties.
We do need a new centre half, there've been links with Alessio Romagnoli, who's going to be a great defender in my eyes, regardless of where he ends up.

But even if we don't sign a centre half, at least chuck Gabriel in the mix.
When he's played, he's been alert, strong and generally impressive.
A few errors but he has a bit of acceleration that can help him when he gets into trouble, like Koscielny.

I still think we'll have a strong season, but it could be dependant on a signing or two and a tactical tweaking.

Still believe that Cazorla is better than Draxler.
Draxler is ofc way younger! but 40m would be a gamble.
Not sure if Draxler would be enough to secure us the title, City have a wider squad

Think that he can actually be good! But he's young and not experienced yet. don't know if that's what we need to backup Giroud - we have Sanogo same age? when he is coming back from injury ofc.

Sagna is our strongest player and winning more headers than Mertesacker. he's not bad? or am I the only one thinking that.
