does anyone believe ozil will be given a new contract for £300,000 a week. personally speaking the way he's been playing i wouldn't pay him £30,000 a week.
if we were not so thin on the ground and for the fact we just can't seem to attract any decent players or they just don't want play for us i would show him the door.

Hi Kick off - No I'm not sure he is worth £300,000 a week. I have a feeling there is very little true interest in signing him at such extortionate wages, despite being on a free. Just to irritate raver61, I mean Sanogo, we would be better off saving the wages to pay a decent CB pr ideally two, cover at RB and a quality DM.
We have options already at the club who could play in Ozil's position; Ramsey, Wilshere, Nelson, Iwobi, Cazorla (if fit) . Ozil on his day is a great player, but those days happen too rarely.

It’s not just his poor performances that worry me. I’m sure I used to see one of the Ed’s maybe 001 few years ago it was the other players letting him down which made him look bad. Maybe it was ed025. If they catch this be nice to hear their view on ozil. Anyway it’s also the terrible attitude that annoys me. Against city he was just sulking at the end and it’s embarrassing. Personally I’d let him go in January. Same with Alexis.

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal are a mess, there are lots of little cliques and people at loggerheads with each other, like Ramsey and Sanchez who hate each other. For a passing player like him, he needs teamwork and movement to get the best out of him. He needs to leave Arsenal.}

Can't you just see the tension between those two.

I think he will sign for bayern in january.

The irritating fact about Ozil and Sanchez is that we should have sorted this situation out when there was 2 years to go their deals. Sign or be sold. To allow them both to leave on frees, possibly to our PL rivals is absurd in the extreme.
I would like to see us try and salvage something for them in January and bring in a couple of top players to compensate for the loss of these two.

Thanks for your reply Ed001 I do genuinely like hearing your views. It does seem ozil would be of better leaving. Just one of those things where both may be better of parting ways.

{Ed001's Note - he is one of those players, like Fabregas, Pirlo and a number of others, that are very reliant on others to create the framework around them. Give them the right team and they can win you games, give them the wrong team and they are a liability. Ozil is at the wrong team and is a luxury that Arsenal do not need and cannot afford, at this time. Wenger has never understood how to build a team around him and that is why he is better off moving on to work with a manager who will.

Nice to chat with you D16, I think I am one of the few left that does not just blame Ozil for everything! I watched your last game and the commentator was actually complaining about Ozil not tracking back, being lazy etc as he was chasing back and forced the opponent to play the ball back from a dangerous area to the halfway line. They never even mentioned that he just did that and only mention what he doesn't do. It gets on my nerves to be honest as they will do that of certain players, Sturridge being another one. I have seen him race back to cover a fullback caught up field and the commentator gave the credit to a completely different player. It makes you wonder how much people's perceptions are shaped by things like that, as the commentators clearly have personal agendas against some players.}

If you are talking about payers that need to be replaced we could probably scrape together a 5 a side team after its done! Its that desperate.
