whatever happened to the litle nudge that PUMA made, that if Arsenal wished to sign one of the stars on their books they would help facilitate said move.
or was this a typical move to aid the new shirt sales?

Hi eds. Just a thought about the goalkeeping situation but would arsenal be interested on Guilhermo Ochoa from Mexico? I know we looked at him 4 or 5 years ago but now he has experience of playing in a European league and is now older although now on league 2 in France, but now a free agent.
I just was interested after his performance tonight against Brazil, a good reaction stopper but unsure of his other GK qualities/deficiencies.
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is expected he will move within France and is awaiting discussions with a couple of sides who are in the market.}

what price suarez.
suggesting liverpool cannot hack the pace throughout the rest of the season and a price can be arranged.
personally. i'd go £65m + pounds.
reckon it would be in or around. every arsenal fan is going to be pessimistic but I think either way if he were to be with us and were to continue his form we could probably win the title plus what else. there is another world transfer record to be broken to real madrid if they cannot prize aguero from man city.

magnumslab

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that whilst he would have joined Arsenal it would not have been anymore than a stepping stone and not where he wanted to be. is representatives have been knocking on doors - but not the door of Arsenal.}

We can still spend that sort of money wisely and get in two quality strikers, read earlier that we have been linked to Michu & Benteke and Coleman as rB back up any truth to these rumours Eds as the source was and we know how reliable there rumours are!

But getting back to the point is £65 mil for one class player the real deal I would rather get more value for money and would Liverpool really release him as they are chasing the title as well, let's not get carried away let's be sensible for once!

Just seen this morning that Alex Song is currently training with the club. He hasn't been paid by his current club Rubin Kazan in months and I think he's trying to have his contact declared void.
If such a case happens, would be be worth giving a short term deal to?

1.) 31 Jan 2018 10:31:34
Nah not good enough.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 10:57:22
True, but may come in handy if we run short. Can’t be worse than Xhaka.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 13:08:47
Yeah for sure. It was a bit daft letting Le Coq tbh as he was the only half decent DM we had which is not saying alot. I guess he was just impaitent and wanted 1st team assurances. I think Chambers could be made into a decent DM. Wilshire and Ramsey are still more attacking mids for me and operate better further up the field.

Just wondering what is the clubs preference to try and get sorted firstly?
Do we go all out on the Aubameyang deal and see it fall throughout at the last or try and put something in place for Evans?

From a Northern Ireland gooner I can hand on heart say he's reliable, solid, a good communicator and organised. Believe me he isn't exactly surrounded by world class playing for his country but does his job very well. He himself isn't a worldie we all know this, but at the moment he may just be what we need, stability.

Would like to know about Jose Giminez the Uruguay defender at Athletico Madrid. 22 years old and out of contract this summer. Would he be worth talking to?

Back to Aubameyang, if that deal can't be completed, then I'd rather we pushed for Mahrez than Benzema. It would be a waste of resources and effort going for him and I don't see the fuss about him anymore. He hasn't been the same player for the past few seasons.
Thanks all.

magnumslab

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't really work like that. Jose Gimenez is not out of contract in the summer and would be very, very expensive. He is of no interest to Arsenal.}

Apologies ed, assumed it was. Just reading it’s up in 2020.

Watching the emirates cup, at the moment telly just on in background, but from what I've seen Forsberg looks very tidy.
Worth a punt? I know we were interested. In fact at the moment he looks bloody impressive.

Tonight we play dynamo Zagreb, and thoughts return of Eduardo.....
What price a striker of his quality, one we rarely got to see but knew he should have ended up as. Injuries can be cruel...as can luck.

magnumslab

1.) 16 Sep 2015 18:21:11
He had a lovely first touch and was a natural finisher

{Ed001's Note - he was quality, shame about his injury. Sad loss to the English game that was.}

2.) 16 Sep 2015 20:02:18
Someone who would have been immense with ozil.....

3.) 16 Sep 2015 20:05:46
Respect Ed.

Top top striker.

We would have won a few trophies if he stayed fit.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, you are missing someone like him now.}

4.) 16 Sep 2015 20:23:35
Definitely Ed.

Eduardo was a 2 chances, 1 goal striker.

5.) 16 Sep 2015 20:46:12
Dags

No one stays fit at Arsenal :)

Late to the post on this. But I have a strong feeling Dick has a half idea who he wants to keep and who to let go. I think the ones the jury’s out on he wanted to give enough rope to hang themselves with so he can eventually bin them with no resistance.
Cech who has my sympathy, is having to re-adjust and it could prove difficult due to his age.
And the likes of Xhaka et all, were played last season even though they were dump but still have that flicker of hope that, it was the coaching, that there was room for improvement.
Hopefully Dick will be given the freedom and he has the fortitude to bin the ones he believes offer no long term benefit.
Then I think we will see the likes of Torreria and Leno.

Hopefully he's a reinforcement, although we must have the most dishonest manager regarding transfers and the Alexis situation is frustrating.
Personally, I reckon Sanchez will do a bosman, we win or challenge, and his route out (Man City) are declared guilty by ffp or for tapping up leaving him in limbo.
Well in limbo waiting in Manchester lol.

Love him, watched Seri 6 times last season and had one performance where he wasn't great, was immense in the rest.
Will wenger spend a lot on a player from the African nations who will be away for an important period of the season? Depends ultimately upon the changes to the AFCON during the summer months is implemented.
Matic would have been a huge buy for us if the press had been believed. And indnt believe it.
My honest opinion. spunk 50 odd million at Spurs on Dier and let's see if they bite. My honest opinion is they won't at first but Levy would kill for that sort of money he could let Poch reinvest. Go 5 more and I reckon he's be an Arsenal player and most likely go on to really challenge for the title, at the very least. and that would upset a LOT of people.
But I reckon we won't see another spurs to Arsenal player in the next 10 years.

I must admit, being a friendly he did commit plenty, was available for passes and scored albeit a badly defended goal, one perhaps WE might not have conceded had we someone who was competent in the DMF position.
A very underrated player who wouldn't cost a huge amount, has bags of experience in his position and in the country, he's played for stoke and Blackburn nearly 200 times.
Let's be honest.
United just laid out the guts of £40m for a guy who mourinho rates and who basically tackles and passes, which is pretty much what N'Zonzi does, but for half the price.
Can anyone recommend someone as experienced and as cost effective as him.
And I really dislike him to be honest he really is an anti footballer. The reason Wenger won't buy him. his ball skills are utter dump, my 5 year old might be better. But compare him to the likes of William Carvhalho, who would cost the same, maybe more, but let's be honest if Carvalho was world class wouldn't be even at Arsenal. he be at Madrid or Manchester dare I say it.
N'Zonzi for the right money. would be a good buy.

magnumslab

{Ed001's Note - you are being unfairly harsh on N'Zonzi, he just looks awkward, like Peter Crouch, rather than actually being poor. His control is a little loose, but he has long legs that just reach out and whip it away from a defender when they commit themselves to a challenge. Being gangly just makes him look like he is about to lose the ball, or trip over his own feet, but that moment never comes.}

Cech still stays for me. Just for stability.
Would like to see Leichsteiner start at RB or LB depending on Nacho fitness or If Dick decides Bellerin needs a rocket up his hole.
Sokratis seems ok a tad slow but very understanding of the game and perhaps has aided Mustafi and I’m really not a fan of Mustafi. He and Koscielny had an unbeaten partnership of 14 games I think when he first signed, maybe it’s an understanding partner ( and a midfield shield he really needs)
Time for Guendouzi and Torreira to be the midfield base, we all see it. Ramsey in front. I don’t think he’s as much as a goal threat anymore but has reasonably good link up play.
Laca on the left auba on the right and ozil on the right, replaceable for Welbeck. Time for defensive stability I think.

magnumslab

{Ed0333's Note - Douzi, Torreira and Ramsey seem like a very decent axis to me mate. I would sack Cech off ASAP he looks totally uncomfortable playing out from the back in my opinion. Leno should be your No 1.

Imagine if Sanchez had any idea about the transformation the team is going through. The players who have been signed the management and training changes.
Do you think he might be thinking. Christ staying might have been a good option.
Ok I know he wanted out and yes ok it was City. But do you think considering he hasn’t settled and now he looks back down at Arsenal, he likes to win and he likes to be the main man, the adoring fans.
Seems his salary has overshadowed everything even his own form adding more expectation and burden than he had at Arsenal. I reckon he’d still be shining at Arsenal if he was here.
But . he’s a greedy sod and deserves everything he gets lol.

magnumslab

{Ed0333's Note - I reckon he won’t be at United next season.

Guendouzi has been immense since his first friendly match. A real find let’s be honest. If he was that big a surprise then the first find (the one from PSG) who turned us down must have been an amazing player by comparison.

I understand the friendship some have with each other. But it’s been a long time since I heard a player from the squad say they weren’t happy they weren’t playing.
There seems to be a good camaraderie, but nobody inside the clubs saying, yeah Ozil or Xhaka has been poor I want their spot. I mean competitiveness wise. Am I being pessimistic but the squad seem happy and settled, maybe that’s Wenger now gone but nobody is saying yeah I want to push on and stake my claim for a place, it’s more like yeah I will make myself ready if someone gets injured, the old team togetherness thing.
What was it Souness said, all nice guys you’d want your daughter to bring home. Not that I’m advocating the players become axe murdering mentalists.

magnumslab

{Ed0333's Note - can you imagine your daughter Xhaka home what a nightmare you couldn’t slag him off anymore you’d have to advocate for him down the pub with your mates. Awkward.
