Eds to you know if there is an outside chance of Conte.
Clearly unhappy at Chelsea and I rate him as a good manager. Intrestead to hear yòur thoughts on him?

spanner

{Ed001's Note - not heard of any suggestion he is of interest. It would be a very surprising move considering his lack of tactical acumen.}

1.) 14 May 2018 18:40:59
For the love of God, not Conte. Throws his toys out of the pram when he doesn't get his own way, overly emotional and almost looks like he deliberately doesn't win games to make a point he's not happy with the squad or the board. Do not rate and don't want him near our club. My opinion of course.

05 Mar 2018 15:14:19
Everton interested in wenger, REALLY? why?

spanner

1.) 05 Mar 2018 15:44:50
😂😂😂😂 that can have him.

2.) 05 Mar 2018 16:02:16
Thats the trouble when a team has an owner who doesn't understand football.

3.) 05 Mar 2018 17:10:21
Maybe a fresh start will do him some good. I swear some of us have forgotten what a great manager he can be. Perhaps less control he will show his worth again. Or not who knows lol.

4.) 05 Mar 2018 17:53:01
D they are welcome to him and his dated ideas. If i was an everton fan, i think i would be pretty worried with recent goings on. I made a statement on hear about 4 years ago that he was out of date and left behind, i think he is even further behind today.

5.) 06 Mar 2018 08:30:22
If was an Everton fan I'd be quite open to the idea ( not that I believe there is any real truth in the story in the Star who are not renowned for their factual stories)
Yes you'd have to think look how he's taken Arsenal backwards but also he'd be coming in a new club not in a position of great power but with an opportunity to repair his more recent image and I'm sure if it was to happen Arsene would be more open to accepting help that Everton thought necessary to give him.
If he'd allowed others to advise him and have an input at Arsenal he might well not be in the position he's in right now.
We need fresh ideas and ways of doing things while a fresh start might be good for Arsene too, personally if it happend I wish Arsene well and hope he finishers runner up in the league cup fa cup and premier league next season with Everton.

6.) 06 Mar 2018 12:21:27
He must be bonkers if he takes another job! He's in one of the most stressful jobs! Must have more money than he can spend! Put your feet up and enjoy retirement! 😂 but I don't imagine it's in his nature!

What is with the Wenger love in, do you honesty believe in him? He has lost it.

Clear reasons:

No captain or leader, in the past we had Adems, kewon, cole, Campbell, Petit, Vieira, Henry to name just a few, now we have Los st a push. To put the armband on Gibbs is a joke.

Not playing players who play well - what message do you think this sends out to our team - utter garage management.

Same playing style over and over again despite the fact it's clear other teams have worked us out. We had all our success playing 442 and Leicester won the league with said formation, but he has not gone back to it or tried anything different in years - joke management again.

No passion just sitting on the touchline holding his belly, makes predictable subs on 70 minutes which also seem pre set before a ball is kicked and nothing to do with what's going on in the game.

Don't even get me started on our injury record - how players miss a whole season without even knowing what's wrong with them.

You really think we should just sit back and let him ruin the club further. Would you let a mate drive home drunk because he said he is fine - get in the real world and open your eyes.

spanner

1.) 20 Mar 2017 20:01:23
Doubt it. Apparently Barcelona seem insistent on Alumni/ with ties to the club.

2.) 21 Mar 2017 12:39:42
Ed002 in your opinion who would u WANT arsene to stay and go? And another question is that if he did go who WOULD YOU replace him with? I want your opinion and what manager u would personally favour.

{Ed002's Note - I think it is an appropriate time to leave and as I have said iver and iver, Max Allegri would be the best option to replace him.}

3.) 21 Mar 2017 13:53:21
Now is an appropriate time to leave and Allegri would be a great option. However I do wish some people would voice that opinion respectfully. Getting bored of so many social media sites or the media in general making it sound like he is some mediocre manager who has lost the plot.

4.) 21 Mar 2017 12:50:50
Oh sorry mate, next time i will read the posts. Do u have any other managers u think should replace him, other than the ones everyone usually says?

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal ony need one manager at a time.}

5.) 21 Mar 2017 16:09:57
No i mean other than the usual names do u have someone else in mind which could be interesting? For example, brendan rodgers.

{Ed002's Note - I don't really understand. The club has approached three people through a third party to guage interest as I have explained. I have said who I think would be best. There are others the club could turn to when the time is right.}

6.) 21 Mar 2017 16:39:41
Lool ed i mean in YOUR OPINION who should the club get OTHER THAN the normal name that everyone else says?

{Ed002's Note - I think Allegri as I keep saying - I have no idea what everyone else says. There are alternatives the club will consider based on timing.}

23 Feb 2017 11:35:27
Another fine performance from our medical team, Santi now out for season for a kick on the ankle.

Why do our players stay injured for a lot longer then other teams players?

Just look how fit jack has been when kept away from them.

I would bet money jesus is back before him at man city.

spanner

1.) 23 Feb 2017 14:28:00
Jesus?
Surely even he can't make a comeback?

2.) 23 Feb 2017 15:15:17
Crazy spanner. I think you need to tighten your nuts.

{Ed033's Note - Haven't you heard of The 2nd Coming? 😋

3.) 23 Feb 2017 16:06:43
Yes ed with a lot of effort and a sore shaft.

4.) 24 Feb 2017 11:48:22
Ed any developments of arsene? Loads of newspaper outlets believe he's staying all of a sudden?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any decision being made at this time. And I am certain the club has not been told of any decision just yet - and they would like one.}

5.) 24 Feb 2017 15:02:39
Apex you do love the arsene questions don't you 😂.

6.) 25 Feb 2017 09:38:36
I think apex is stan the man in disguise.

16 Feb 2017 09:52:29
The only positive thing about last night is that wenger has to go now, no chance he will sign a new deal.

spanner

1.) 16 Feb 2017 13:38:45
Ed i have honestly tried to read the posts to find the information about the first manager we tried getting to replace arsene but got backfired. Would u please just say the manager name, i don't need an explanation mate.

{Ed002's Note - It is really not worth the grief for me to explain anything that happens or has happened regarding the manager - it will lead to trolling and grief for all.}

2.) 16 Feb 2017 14:26:15
That's a shame ed. I for one love reading your opinions and information. All the best regardless.

3.) 16 Feb 2017 20:32:18
We have approached of one manager, but that has been rebuffed by a third party representing him.

Another option is Allegri.

4.) 16 Feb 2017 20:56:53
Yeah but what manager was it.

5.) 16 Feb 2017 22:01:55
Thomas Tuchel?

6.) 16 Feb 2017 22:47:31
I think the board will look to appoint someone young enough to lead the club for 10+ years, they'll also keep with the attacking football and will want someone who integrates youth.
Ed has told us Allegri would be on the shortlist, he also told us Simeone would be at Atletico still next season so we can stop naming him.

Personally I think it'll be one of Tuchel, Jardim or Allegri.

Hopefully we'll all be on our best behaviour and Ed will enlighten us once more.

{Ed002's Note - It would take a lot to get Allegri to agree to go beyond 2022.}

7.) 16 Feb 2017 23:16:26
Thanks for the reply Ed002. Any chance you'd want to give us your opinion on who Arsenal should be looking at? I think most of us find it interesting to hear your (and the other Editors) takes on things.

Seems to be a general consensus around Allegri that he's a much better manager tactically than Conte, and I suppose Juventus' champs league performances are a testament to that. Even if he only stayed until 2022 I think he'd be a great appointment, although Tuchel would be my first choice!

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that the club are looking at their options for this summer and the offer of a two year deal last summer was of no interest to Wenger (and to some extent there was a real big deal at the time so it was understandable) - but 2018 would have been preferred by the club and suspect it is still preferred. I have explained about a couple of those who the club has considered - but there are others, and the opinion of Mr Wenger has been sought. If you want my fear, it would be that M Wenger takes over as a Director of Football and mentors one of two potential replacements who would likely be willing to accept that scenario.}

8.) 16 Feb 2017 23:44:00
I'm guessing Vieira is one of the 2 in the scenario that Wenger becomes DoF. Please tell me Remi Garde isn't the other, that could be a recipe for disaster!?

Thanks for the info Ed002, greatly appreciated.

9.) 16 Feb 2017 23:52:08
Ed, i dunno if your an arsenal fan but in your opinion who would u say is the best fit mate? Only your opinion cause i value what u say mate.

{Ed002's Note - Allegri would be ideal if Wenger were to leave this year.}

10.) 17 Feb 2017 13:00:08
Guys Chelsea fan out here. I watched the game between arsenal and Bayern. Sometimes u need to step back and see where the fault lies. 4 out of 5 goals were basic defensive errors. Agree that Wenger must share some blame for not dropping many non-performers. But having said that the board is also equally culpable of retaining these players. There are not many who can seamlessly replace wenger. Actually I feared when mourinho was sacked. Conte has done well luckily and got the players in line. But u guys need to pray for that to happen. Because whoever comes in needs to address the player issue first.

11.) 17 Feb 2017 13:09:46
Cheers for opinion ed. Allegri would be a big change, he's a lot more ruthless. One of his mistakes, for me, was selling Pirlo to Juventus from Milan due to his age making him surplus requirments. Wenger would never do that, look at Arteta and the like.

{Ed002's Note - Coaches in many of the European sides have much less say on transfers than M Wenger.}

Before spellcheck LOL.
Please can you add this bottom line to my last post?

All these post praising Xhaxa.
Cmon he was only consistently above average due to being on the team sheet every week. If Eleny started the same number of games, he would have been better then what he showed last season. Just look at the difference from Pepe when he got a run of games.
End of the day Xhaxa is not good enough and he won't be happy as a squad player role when we upgrade to hopefully Bissurma (spelling) Although if Leicester get Sourme from Lille for 19 million, that is a steal and.

Has dour fashion mongrel right back played a forward pass tonight?
Stealing a living at 160k a week.
Useless.

spanner

1.) 15 Jan 2021 07:55:01
Ironically people want to play the guy that played at left back instead. And he was a lot worse than bellerin last night.

2.) 15 Jan 2021 10:41:00
Amn is robbing a living I’d like to know what people see In him, tonite he was awful you could read him like a book, sprint down the wing stop quickly the turn amd pass with his righ foot, the guy I awful hector is 100 times better and I’d have him as our right back till he retires.

3.) 15 Jan 2021 15:56:18
Yes, he is not a LB. Not his fault he was played there bad management. I have never seen him have a good game at lb apart from when all he needs to do is defend. He has never been an attacking threat as a LB. He would be a lot better on the other side and least he tried to go forward. Belli was awful in his natural position. Every time he passed backward or stops and holds the ball for no reason.
Manager has to take the blame. Saka should have played LB and Pepe from the start.

11 Jan 2021 12:15:49
Any chance we are looking at a forward who is good in the air.
We now have players who can constantly put great crosses into the box like KT, Saka and Pepe but we are not great in the air.
Even someone to throw on the last 10 minutes does it have to be a starter.
Imagine someone like Andy Carroll get on the end of that service.
Would we take Giroud back?
What about that ducth guy who plays for Werder Breman, Weghorst
Be nice to have another option especially against teams playing the hiya block like Newcastle did at the weekend.

spanner

1.) 11 Jan 2021 15:56:31
I hardly think we are looking for a forward atm, that position is overloaded and we have youngsters in that position wanting to leave because they don’t get game time. All of our strikers are more than capable of heading a ball plus we have some big boys in defence and midfield which can score with their heads from corners etc
I think we are in need of signings in most other positions first mate.

2.) 11 Jan 2021 20:24:56
We’d probably stop crossing the ball if we had a decent header of the ball in the front line 😂.

Hi Ed, have you done a player profile on Emi Buendia?

Do you rate him.

I personally think he's very underrated.

He is a very creative player and even when Norwich were in the premiership he finished fifth in chances created (81)

I think he would be ideal as Arsenal's number 10, what do you think?

spanner

{Ed001's Note - I am surprised I haven't been asked to do a profile on him before, considering how much chat there has been about him on the Man Utd site over the last season and a half. One of their posters, Shappy I think it is, champions him as a player.

I like him, though I do worry about his ability to follow tactical instructions. I think that was the reason he struggled to hold down a first team place last season, as he would be played wide but go wandering around and leave the full-back exposed. I think, like you clearly do, he was just being played out of position and needs to be given a free role as a number 10. He works hard, is creative, runs well with the ball, in fact he very much reminds me of Ozil at his best, in that he also lacks that turn of pace that would have made him unstoppable. He is certainly an option I would be suggesting if I was in Arsenal's recruitment department. He seems to be one of the best 'bang-for-buck' options around, in that he shouldn't be too expensive but should be good enough to perform like a much more expensive signing would do.}

1.) 31 Dec 2020 13:15:48
Snappy will probably be ****ing off for a week if he reads this Tris. I sometimes doubt Shoot might even be a representative of Buendia the way he talks about him every time when mentioning player recruitment 🤣.

{Ed001's Note - maybe they are friends? He certainly does tend to talk about him on the slightest excuse. Half the time the thread is about something completely different. He must spend hours coming up with ways to shoehorn Buendia's name into conversations. I bet he is on military history forums on their Falklands Islands threads talking about how Buendia came from Argentina. He has probably befriended people from Norwich on facebook so he can talk to them about him....}

2.) 31 Dec 2020 13:54:11
Well he probably hours writing those novel like posts Tris.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he does put a lot of effort in. He must have almost as little of a life as me to have the time to write them all!}

3.) 31 Dec 2020 16:16:45
Cheers Ed, yeah I noticed he was/ is played wide but on most highlights I have seen drifts in field a lot.
I think he would be a good 10, unlike Ozil he seems to also be good at a high aggressive press which I think would suit Aretas style.
I really hope we don't sign Isco and sign this guy instead. Plus I would imagine be on half the wages that Isso would want and would also have some good resale value.
