I have a theory with Wenger and his contract situation.

I think if and its a big if now, we get top 4 he will stay and sign a new deal because more than managing a club, he enjoys the absolute power that he has at arsenal.

If we drop out of the top 4, he will swallow the bitter pill, loose some amount of power and control and go on to a PSG or someone who has qualified for the Champions league.

Either ways, he gets what he wants and us the fans are the ones who will be left wondering.

themonk

1.) 11 Apr 2017 17:05:33
Top 4 no chance.

2.) 11 Apr 2017 18:51:42
Psg want to win things, the fans would riot if wenger went there.

3.) 11 Apr 2017 20:04:41
I'm not sure it's quite a win win situation for Arsene i think he will be bitterly disappointed if it becomes (it certainly looks as if already has) impossible for him to continue at Arsenal.
No matter what positive spin he puts on it anything less than a new contract at Arsenal will hurt him to have to accept.
As much as it's absolutely crucial for Arsenal to make a change in management this summer for the club it's still going to be difficult for Arsene to take I've no doubt about that PSG for not.

Hey Ed,

A lot of the media is reporting that Viera might be brought in to replace Wenger at the end of the season.

Just wanted to get your opinion on it. Is he ready to take charge of Arsenal? And why wouldn't we want someone more experienced in management like Diego Simone? Or who the other managers Arsenal might look at?

Cheers!

themonk

{Ed001's Note - Vieira has not even had a season in management yet, impossible to know if he is ready or not, but it does seem unlikely. He has shown no signs of it that I can discern. Why would Simeone leave Atletico for Arsenal? What would he gain?

Other managers? Well Garde could have had a chance, Arsene certainly considered recommending him, but the Villa might have killed that for him. Unai Emery would be a very real possibility, I believe from what I am told.}

1.) 07 Mar 2016 05:56:43
Thanks Ed!

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

2.) 07 Mar 2016 18:58:36
What about Koeman Ed is he a serious contender?
Seems a decent punt to me.

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any interest in him from Arsenal but you would have to think they will be considering him at least.}

3.) 07 Mar 2016 22:15:19
They'd need to have someone very special already lined up not to even consider him mate.

4.) 08 Mar 2016 10:27:54
Is Emery the manager you said Ed who will have a massive high then a big drop but will be fun if your not a supporter of the club or was that Bielsa?

{Ed001's Note - Bielsa mate. Emery is more of a defensive-minded coach if anything.}

5.) 08 Mar 2016 13:12:39
Hearing many rumours of the Germany manager. Joachim Löw.

6.) 14 Mar 2016 21:40:09
Ed001, would you say Emery is our priority? Because some concerning rumours are starting to appear about us negotianing with Loew, and I have to say I really, really don't think he's a good manager, even more so at club level. Would be an absolute disaster of an appointment.

{Ed001's Note - Emery is an option, not the priority. Style of play is a concern with him, while Loew offers a much more attractive style.}

7.) 14 Mar 2016 21:54:05
Any other names in the frame? Have to admit I like Emery and his ability to deal with difficult circumstances - one of the most important qualities that Wenger has IMO, while I genuinely believe Loew would be a disaster of Van Gaal proportions.

15 May 2014 12:01:57
Hey Eds any interest in Lukaku. Read somewhere that he is being offered to PL clubs for around 30 million.

And, also who would you prefer if both are available. Lukaku or Benzema?

Cheers

themonk

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Lukaku but not from Arsenal. I have no preference.}

With Napoli now in the picture for Higuain. and Real looking at Suarez. COuld it end up being a situation where we miss out on both of them.

In other news it seems Mata is no longer needed at the lane. Why not bid for him. He is probably that one player in recent years I think we missed the trick on.

themonk

1.) ". Mata is no longer needed at the lane"?

Which is interesting as Mata plays at the Bridge.

Boy, that would have been a really complicated transfer.

2.) We will end up buying no-one because we are too slow and too stingy - yet we are asking £11M for Gervinho - double standards.

3.) I'm sure you ment bridge and think your right we did miss a trick with him can't see how the special c££t don't won't him though

4.) My bad. ofcourse the bridge. but with news coming out that they offered him as a part of a deal for rooney and united having rejected it. why not make a move and get him. any chanced ed that we could atleast put in a bid for him?

5.) Lets clear a few things up here.

Chelsea offered more money in both transfer fee and wages in order to get Mata.

He has not been offered in a part ex deal for Rooney. Neither has Luiz. It was a cash only offer, which Chelsea say they won't be raising.

Mata will not be sold as Mourinho sees him as an important player. We missed the boat two years ago.

We won't be signing Rooney either.

6.) I doubt they would had offered arguably their best player last season for Rooney, and if they did you would think united would bite their hand off considering they need that sought of player atm.

7.) Arsene fiddles whilst Rome burns, do our transfer dealings have that all to familiar feeling of deja vu?

Jakey

8.) Who ever said Mata is not needed. I bet you he goes nowhere. Bid was straight cash words from Mourinho himself.

9.) Mata plays at the bridge mate. Spurs play at the lane

10.) Do arSenal think fans are stupid? PR in overdrive making us look like intereted in all massive names when all clubs confirming no bids made for any accept suarez who they know will choose madrid. wenger in vietnam so no bids will be made till back. why can we not tie up deals like liverpool and city do where done and dusted without rumour before pre season starts? Kb

11.) Arsenal will end up with Benteke, not Suarez not Higuain and not Rooney.

12.) I think u mean no longer needed at the bridge.

13.) Have faith, still. Madrid don't want to spend a lot on Suarez. I think there are some twists yet. Madrid certainly aren't behaving outwardly as though they want Suarez, but we certainly are, and according to cross, via Wenger, we're making another bid for him. Simply showing we're that keen will mean a lot to any player, he might decide to pick us over Madrid, who seem incapable of acting with any sense of decency.

14.) How long has Mata been playing at the Lane?!

15.) By the way, I don't think Chelsea did offer Mata more than we did - his first contract was £60'000pw. He bumped up to what Podolski is on after 6 months or something, but we could easily have afforded his wages back then. I think it had to do with the fee more than anything. Same with Cahill. It's not that we couldn't compete on wages - Santos was put on more at Arsenal than Cahill was when he joined Chelsea. But it's the fee, when Chelsea come in, we just can't compete on the fees. So unless the player chooses us, we wouldn't win a bidding war.

16.) No, its Townsend that plays at the lane, but I can see how you got confused ;-)

I have supported Arsenal FC for as long as I can remember, and during my stay in London as a student, have fought on multiple occasions at the bookmakers I worked for with my MUFC supporting manager.

The club has given me some of the fondest memories of my life, and yet today I feel like not wanting watch any more of the games and supporting that scum of man who owns us. Being a die hard animal lover, I cannot get myself to watching or subscribing to anything that will eventually lead to that scum of a human being making one extra dollar. So even though I will continue to support Arsenal, I am out until someone either trophy hunts that bastard or he leaves my beloved club and ****s off!

themonk

1.) 01 Aug 2017 08:28:48
I'm with you on this I have never liked the guy and we need him out. most of the uk is very pro animal. I do think we will never win a title or champions league while he is here.

2.) 01 Aug 2017 09:00:12
Would it not serve better to unite as a club against this and use Arsenal FC as a vehicle every matchday to highlight how wrong this is?
Firstly we get to voice our collective disapproval with this channel and what it promotes and disconnect ourselves from it and secondly we use Kroenkes own interests at Arsenal FC against him and show him we don't want him at our club.
We should get our fan groups in touch with Animal rights groups specific to this situation and together make simple signs for all fans to hold aloft at some point during every game to get as much media attention aswel as that of Kroenke and his representatives and make it clear he's not welcome at this club.

{Ed025's Note - i would not class myself as a big animal lover to be honest shambo but some things are just wrong and this is one of them, these are beautiful and endangered animals who are being slaughtered for self gratification and that is wrong on so many levels, kronke should be ashamed of himself and is doing the reputation of arsenal no favours at all, he needs to go for me mate..

3.) 01 Aug 2017 10:14:33
People with far to much money and way to little value for anything other than themselves will love this chanel so it will make money.
I'm sure there are people who would pay an absolute fortune to kill the last elephant, lion or whale which I think says a lot about the society we live in where everything and everyone even the earth its self is expendable in the pursuit of money and power through wealth.

4.) 01 Aug 2017 10:44:04
I'm hoping this might be the catalyst to actually get rid of the c#$t. Although, not sure if Usmanov is any better.

5.) 01 Aug 2017 10:56:36
I don't know any billionaires outback mate and I'm sure there must be some very good ones tucked away somewhere but by nature it's my guess that to amass that amount of money the vast majority of them have skeletons in their cupboards.

6.) 01 Aug 2017 13:17:35
with usmanov we would try our best and Give ourselves the best possible chance.

on animals big animal lover here would be a boring place without them. been here before will be here after. amen lol.

7.) 01 Aug 2017 13:23:32
Sorry Ed. Publish this in your own unique way.
Stam Kroenke is a vile piece of animal excrement.

8.) 01 Aug 2017 14:16:45
Is this the peta banter page or have I got lost 🙄.

9.) 01 Aug 2017 14:18:00
Personally, i would pay for a hunting app, if that app shows people going out to hunt and kill these hunters. let's see how those scum like being on the receiving end for a change. I had the pleasure to live in South Africa for a few years, and so I know how disgusting this practice is, especially when committed by fat, inbred, arrogant, Europeans/ Americans who should have no right to go and continue to plunder from this magnificent continent. Can you believe that some hunts are on animals which are artificially fed, so stick to the area, just for some pr*ck to come up and shoot them from the window of a car. They can't even be bothered to walk and track the animal. All I know is that i have had been lucky enough to be able to sit and watch these magnificent creatures on many occasions, and i know the world is a much better place with them in it. I can't say the same for the likes of these so called game hunters or anyone that supports them, such as Kronke, and feel that a painful death from an invasive cancer would still be to good for them (Ed's, will understand if you remove that last bit) . I will never stop supporting my beloved Arsenal, but with that twit in charge, its getting more and more difficult everyday.

10.) 01 Aug 2017 14:53:02
I can see more banners first game, maybe an aeroplane and a shoe of strength to out the vile cowardly turd that owns our club. We don't want him.

{Ed025's Note - i hope he gets the boot after that shoe of strength steve.. :)

11.) 01 Aug 2017 16:30:30
Ha ha this phone ed, show.

{Ed025's Note - i could not resist steve..

Why do i have a sneaky feeling that Wenger has planned to buy Mahrez to play him as a striker, just like he did with Henry.

Thoughts anyone?

themonk

1.) 11 Aug 2016 21:11:22
Is it cause your drinking?

2.) 11 Aug 2016 21:14:27
He probably still will, on football manager, because that's the only way he will ever get close to managing him.

3.) 11 Aug 2016 21:20:36
Wenger loves the whole Converting Wingers into Striker thingy. I think he must something against proper wide men to be honest. Mahrez as central striker not sure would work though not sure he would be Physical enough not as a lone striker would need a partner but we don't play 4-4-2. Unless he uses Sanchez more centrally and keep Mahrez out wide but again Sanchez is not as effective in the centre for me either. Giroud is the only proper CF we have TBH and maybe Akpom in the future depends how Wenger sees him. Wellbeck and Walcott are both wide me pretending to be strikers. We need proper competition for Giroud for me.

4.) 11 Aug 2016 21:42:26
Dreammmmm dream dream dream dreammmmmm

Not a chance

Move on.

5.) 11 Aug 2016 22:25:16
Thank you Gene, can you do 24 million for Lukaku?

03 Mar 2016 01:04:45
I had read somewhere that Stan is more than happy with the status quo and a brief look at the other teams he owns it should be clear he doesn't really care about winning or history. till he is making money, We need a change in the overall approach. We need people at the top who want the club to win things and not just treat it like a cash cow. If Wenger keeps his job beyond this season it will be clear that all Stan wants from us is a few more ranches in texas.

Wenger has to go. He has an excuse for every game we loose. Not once does he lead by example and take responsibility. And when he doesn't do it, the same attitude trickles down the team. Not one player looks like they want to win the title badly. Just compare the way we play and the passion we show in a game to Liecester or even Spurs for that matter.

The best change we will have in years and we have thrown it away. Even if we win the FA cup the fans should boycott the stupid parade.

Oh by the way! Keep the faith ;)

1.) 03 Mar 2016 06:33:52
I fail to understand the criticism of Kronke, as it is patently obvious that Wenger runs the club. Wenger has been supported by Kronke and the board when he signed the likes of Ozil and Sanchez for huge transfer fees and wages. If Wenger had wanted to make more signings in the last two transfer windows, I am certain he would have been supported by Kronke and the board. Kronke has spent far more acquiring his shareholding in the club, than he has taken out. Indeed I can't recall him taking any large amounts out. The sole payments I do recall are to a marketing company who undertake work on behalf of the club, to which he has some association. He certainly didn't take any funds out to purchase his ranch. Indeed the club have £150m+ in reserves, which will rise to £250m+ at the end of the next 6 month period.
In the past Gazidis and the board have urged Wenger to enter the transfer market. Keith Edelman, a former director, was sacked by the club after he stated that the club could spend £100m in the transfer market and Wenger was livid.
Imagine Wenger has spent some of the cash reserves on a top defensive midfield player and forward, instead of wasting money on the dreadful Artata, Flamini and Rosicky, all way past their sell by dates. If you have to blame anyone, it's Wenger, but then again one could argue that he has been relatively successful, even in more recent seasons, whilst paying back debt and fighting the financial muscle of Man C, Chelsea and Man U.

{Ed001's Note - I think you fail to understand how Kroenke leverages his shareholding in Arsenal, and its huge cash reserves, to get large, low-interest, loans that he uses to buy things such as the ranch.}

2.) 03 Mar 2016 07:00:28
Kronke and his wife are both billionaires, of course they may borrow against their assets, although in this case, I would appreciate it if you could tell us where you get this information that Kronke has borrowed against his holding in Arsenal. In any event he has so many assets, that realising his debt (if it exists) , would never come into fruition and if it did the financial institutions would simply sell Kronke's shares to repay the debt. The fact is that he has taken very little out of the club and has to the best of my knowledge backed Weger financially when necessary. The lack of signings at the club are clearly down to Wenger.

3.) 03 Mar 2016 06:57:28
David dein warned us too sell to usmanov.

4.) 03 Mar 2016 08:29:23
RG its down to wenger to. the plan was in place ride it out till FFP then we are laughing. it never happened and the rules are very relaxed now.

Why don't we ever press the ball up high the pitch.

themonk

1.) 20 Oct 2015 21:40:44
Tell me you weren't listening to that tool Hargreaves, that was not the tactic which Wrighty picked up on in the studio and eventually the thick knuckle head Hargreaves realised.

If it's not that idiot it's Michael bloody Owen.

2.) 20 Oct 2015 21:50:06
Hargreaves really likes Douglas Costa . I mean he really likes him 😍😍😍😍😍.

3.) 20 Oct 2015 21:53:14
By not pressing - we kept our shape and stopped us being sucked in and exposed to the the counter. Instead, we encouraged them to push on and leave space for Theo.

4.) 20 Oct 2015 21:53:39
If we had pressed high they would have just played round us and we would have been torn apart.

5.) 20 Oct 2015 22:07:39
Maybe Hargreaves was injured tonight.! Larynx strain or something!

Irrespective of who we sign. I don't think things will change. To be completely honest i think we have decent enough players and with an addition here and there we are capable of challenging, but that won't happen under Wenger.

And as much as i am pissed off about AOC moving. i just feel Kloop will get the best out of him, and we will all finally realise that the problem is not the players but the man leading this club.
