Hello ed02. any updates on reiss Nelson? Will he be integrated into the team this season or being sold?

{Ed002's Note - Reiss Nelson (RW/AM) May look to run down his contract next season. Arsenal don't have space for him in the first team but would like to extend and send him on loan again. Meanwhile they will look to add a winger which will push him further down the pecking order. Feyenoord would certainly take another loan. If he won't extend this summer, there will be opportunities.}

Good Morning Ed002.

It looks like Chelsea have made a fast move to sign Raphinha. Please can you provide any info on other wide targets that we will now look to pursue instead?

Thank you sir.

{Ed002's Note - Ianis Stoica (RW/F) has been watched by scouts from Brighton, Crystal Palace Arsenal and PSV but FCSB have no interest in selling in the short-term unless a very significant offer were made. Not first choice for PSV who are looking for an upgrade on Doan. Arsenal are keen and see him as a Pepe replacement – but it is a huge step up.
Allan Saint-Maximin (LW/RW) Do not be surprised by a sale to help fund transfers. The decision is based on some attitude related issues and financial demands he is making. Although Aston Villa are interested, the wage demands may be too much for them. Everton provide a possibility if Lampard stays and has a clear out. Wolves provide a less likely option. Spurs and Arsenal may still maintain an interest.
Serge Gnabry (RW/LW) Seems to fail to settle at any club and is not open to signing a new contract without a significant increase in salary, and it is his very significant financial demands that are proving to be a problem. Barcelona have him on their list of options, but they are going to have to balance summer transfers carefully and his wage demands will be an issue - they can be discounted. The wages are less of a problem for Juventus where tax laws are beneficial. Real Madrid consider him an option to Mbappe as they look to shake up their wingers. Versatile enough to be considered a Martial replacement at Manchester United and on the list for Liverpool as a potential Salah replacement - but neither would want to break the bank for him and not being in the CL may well end any vague interest in the player joining MU. Has been offered to Chelsea and PSG by his agent, but both see the wage demands as far too high and have other priorities. A return to Arsenal does not make sense for the player, but there may be interest from the club.
Luis Sinisterra (LW) Bayer Leverkusen and Lazio have held discussions with Feyenoord about the availability of Sinisterra. Arsenal has a declared interest. Atletico Madrid have watched the player on several occasions.
Lucas Ocampos (LW) Arsenal may provide an option. Wolves were keen but opted for Chiquinho and the interest of West Ham is as an option to the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to bolster the left side of their attack - but they need to focus on sorting out a striker and get away from the scattergun approach.
Moussa Diaby (LW/RW) Bayer Leverkusen were approached about the player by Borussia Dortmund last season but no more than that. They have no interest in selling unless a very significant offer of perhaps €80M were made. Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Real Madrid have sent scouts but each have other targets. A wildcard option may be a return to PSG. Newcastle are also interested but a move there would be a regression and I am sure being in the Champions League would be a consideration.
Noa Lang (LW/S/RW) was purchased for a €6.5M option from Ajax by Brugge last summer and was due to be sold on at auction. Brugge say there were no acceptable offers last summer, but with "most" English clubs having sent scouts to watch him, West Ham, Arsenal and Leeds have declared an interest. Borussia Muenchengladbach consider him an option if Marcus Thuram leaves - but they don't wish to sell. The player comes with serious baggage which is why Milan seem a little nervouse after showing a great deal of interest. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool but they have had scouts watch Lang as he is doing well. Brugge will look for perhaps €30M in the summer.
Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have largely dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City, Newcastle and Leeds so far, and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs. Player is almost certainly not open to moving to a side not in the Champions League. Milan and Juventus were approached but showed no interest, although Milan have since met directly with his representative to discuss price having stepped back from another target - although Ziyech is also in the mix for them. I suspect he might be seen as an option by Liverpool being able to play on either wing or in an AM role - and Liverpool have approached his reprentative. PSG provide a potential option. Real Madrid will be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type but finding a buyer at the asking price might be difficult but will also perhaps try and do something with Dortmund. A new contract seems unlikely, but Madrid will not want him to run down his contract.}

Allan Saint-Maximin would be a very good alternative to Raphinha!

{Ed002's Note - He plays in a different position.}

29 Jun 2022 13:10:03
If he's a (LW/ RW) then he can effectively play either side? Certainly has the ability to play off the right regularly and could rotate in game with Saka, Martinelli, ESR who can all play on both wings.

Hi Eds. Seen a new rumour regarding Cheick Doucoure, any truth to it. Also I've always personally hoped that we would go for Ruiz from Napoli ahead of Teliemans. now that interest in Teliemans has "cooled", is there any interest in Ruiz or anyone else?

{Ed002's Note - Cheick Doucoure (DM/CM) Crystal Palace are interested in the Lens player as an option to Winks or Edson Alvarez. Watched by a number of other sides including Monaco, Arsenal, Everton and Toulouse. A possible Neves replacement for Wolves. Might be difficult to get a Work Permit for in England unless paying over the odds. Brighton might provide a wildcard option.}

Thanks Ed002. And sorry, anything on Fabian Ruiz? Tried to look for updates but couldn't find any.

{Ed002's Note - Fabian Ruiz (CM/DM/AM) was seen by Real Madrid as a replacement for Kroos and/or Modric but interest is likely waning in consideration of another arrival. There have been discussions with his agent involving Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Bayern Munich - although the player is not keen on a move to England or Germany, but may have few other options. Napoli have also met and spoken with Barcelona who see him as a possible replacement for Pjanic but they have to integrate their youngsters. His agent thinks that PSG and Manchester United could also look to him. Do not lose sight of Inter. Won't sign a new contract.}

Hi eds can you shed some light on reports we've making a second bid for both raphinia and martinez from ajax
Is there any truth or is it speculation.

{Ed002's Note - Lisandro Martinez (CB) An approach by Manchester United may be on the cards. For Arsenal, if Saliba gets his wish to leave he would be one of several options the club has identified - otherwise there is no space behind White and Gabriel.

Raphina (RW) Deco is working with his old club Barcelona to see through the transfer. The issue is that Leeds want a single cash payment of around €60M but Barcelona want a lower up-front payment. Deco will offer him elsewhere but will ask for a "Barcelona" get out clause - one club has already rejected that. PSG were looking to Raphinha as one of their list of potential Di Maria replacements. The interest to Bayern Munich has gone. Interest of Liverpool would only be as an option to replace Salah and again they have not spoken with Leeds as Salah will be looking to run down his contract over the next year. Chelsea have watched Raphinha as they are looking to change wide players but an offer seems unlikely unless the request for the clause is removed. Arsenal and Spurs have both been approached by Deco and Arsenal have spoken to Leeds as they have a pressing need to add a wide player - but remain an unattractive option. Leeds will look to resist but if a really good offer were made from any leading club then the player would likely be interested in a move. Leeds will sell and have a replacement in mind. The player very much wants Barcelona.}

Hey Ed may i ask if there is any interest in Rob Holding and Pablo Mari (Seems like Udine won‘t buy him) ?

{Ed002's Note - Pablo Mari (CB) Has made it clear he wants to be playing. An initial loan to Udinese may have been made permanent at the right price, but that did not happen. Hellas Verona offer him an option as a starter - perhaps Milan as cover.

I am not aware of interest in RH.}

Arsenal remain an unattractive option? How? Raphinha will be an Arsenal player very soon. I've been told it's almost done!

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are a poorly run club not in the Champions League. Arsenal have not submitted an acceptable bid, so it is not "almost done".}

Is your opinion based on edu and the hierarchy or on the ownership appointment of roles such as DOF or VP or the coach and his team strategy, would be insightful to get your thoughts if you can spare some time.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained it all in the past.}

Gabriel Jesus deal agreed with city. Arsenal pressing on deals for Raphinha and Lisandro Martinez.

With Nuno Tavares to go out on loan. Bellerin getting interest from Athletico Madrid (that is a good one and bend Leno in discussions with Fulham)

The window is looking cute. I believe the departures last summer and also in January made it possible for us to pursue signings early as we know what we need and does not rely on departures before signings.

I hope we land Raphinha and Martinez. Tielemans looks certain to me to sign for us. We are not in a rush because he is ours to lose.

Why do we need Martinez? If Gabriel stays, saliba and him are the stand out pair for me.

He can play LB and DM as well.

Where is all this money from surely we must sell for three ffp reason.

 0 0

25 Jun 2022 22:04:37
To be honest, we need a back up left back. We also need another defender, ideally left playing center back.

We also need a defensive midfield cover. Lokonga did well but I consider him raw.

We do not have the money to recruit for all these positions one window. That is why Martinez makes a lot of sense.

However, Martinez is not coming in as a back up. He is a baller, and can easily challenge Gabriel, and tierney for starting spots.

That is healthy for a team that wants to succeed.

Doesn't he play the same position as Saliba? If we sign him it seems like it will be dependent on selling.

 0 0

25 Jun 2022 23:43:10
It is not dependent on selling. We are getting him to strengthen the left back position + provide cover for left center back.

Nuno Tavares is leaving on loan.

26 Jun 2022 14:54:16
Not sure you sign a player for the reported £43m as cover? If he comes it will be to play, which is great, but might mean other players in that position are sold. Ed has always said Saliba staying is not guaranteed and maybe he would be the one to go? Seeing as we have a policy of signing young players with future potential that would be crazy though, as he probably is top of that list.

It doesn't sound like he wants to be at Arsenal Epping mate, he accepts he has to return and honour his contract but what's the point in letting him simply run down his contract then leave for free.

There is obviously bad feeling between him and the club because of whatever has gone on between them and sadly I think it would be best for all concerned to let leave and cash in while we have the chance.

Good player and it's a shame things have gone as they have since he joined us but no point in biting your nose off to spite your face.

I do rather fear we are spending cash we don’t have G62, and therefore whether he has settled his differences with us or not, it may be we need to sell him to help balance the books anyway.

Good afternoon Ed’s, do you know if arsenal have any interest in seko fofana of rc lens thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Seko Fofana (CM) PSG and Milan may fight it out for ex-Manchester City player Fofana who has also attracted the attention of Marseille, Leicester and Aston Villa. Other sides, such as Newcastle, Arsenal and Monaco, have taken note of Fofana when scouting a different Lens player, but have taken it no further.}

From what I have read spurs have entered the race.

{Ed014's Note - well maybe he doesn’t mind a step down in class! 😉😂

I hope he does come but we will see im. not sure on raphina myself tho.

Spurs apparently have pulled out but only because they have been told he's arsenal bound but the fee hadn't been agreed just personal terms but we need to get a move a move on and get it over the line sooner than later.

Ed002, Are you aware of things changing with

(a) Raphina- have we made a second bid after the first one was reportedly rejected?

(b) Lisandro Martinez - do you reckon we could try and keep saliba and go for Martinez by selling/ loaning out Nuno Tavares?

Thanks as always mate!

{Ed002's Note - a. I am not aware of anything new. b. No, I cannot see that being a plan. Arsenal want to keep Saliba against his will and there is interest in Tavares - I am not sure how Martinez could be drawn in to that equation.}

Ed’s. Only from what I’m reading and feeling. But I get the vibe that Saliba does not really want to be back at Arsenal.

So if my gut feeling is correct why do you think that this rumour keeps surfacing.

{Ed014's Note - because Arsenal would be happy to sell and he’d be happy to leave mate.

 0 0

25 Jun 2022 21:25:58
Yes how utterly ruthless of Arsenal to expect Saliba to honor the contract he willingly signed. The nerve of this club!

{Ed002's Note - Maybe the players would be happier if the club was run so poorly.}

 0 0

26 Jun 2022 01:45:16
Well Ed 14… taking your reply into consideration regarding Saliba then to me it’s a no brainer.
Sell him and let’s move on.
What’s the point in having a disgruntled player in the squad? We are trying to rebuild not build and relapse !

{Ed014's Note - the only point to having him in the squad is he’s better than anyone else we have.

If he stays and the clown gives him game time then he could well be a happy bunny.

To waste him will be a terrible decision.

26 Jun 2022 18:36:46
If saliba doesn't want to stay, just sell him. There are plenty of good options. But anyway some news surfacing that Arsenal are already talking about extending his contract, this might just p. off a lot of people who don't want to see him at Arsenal.

Good morning Eds and gooner ladies and gents.
Quick questions for Ed 002. It's being reported an unnamed Prem club have tabled an offer which Leeds are seriously considering, rumoured to be close to £60M including add ons for Raphina. The fee part is irrelevant I'm just enquiring as to whether you might know if this unspecified club is Arsenal or if Chelsea or Spurs are looking to sign the player?
Also, hoping you might have some updates on Gabriel Jesus?
I know reports are everywhere of our interest but I'd just like to hear it from your good self as we've been down this road before and lost out on deals to more proactive clubs so like many my first stop each day of the transfer window is here for informed info.

{Ed002's Note - If this has happened this morning it would be unliklely it is Chelsea or Spurs as both have other priorities today.}
