Poldi was assigned mostly on the left wing for some reason. don't know why Wenger didn't use him more as central striker.

True BKK that's why I wouldn't think Billybobs' friend statement is correct. Podolski also played on the left for Germany prior to and during his time with Arsenal.
I personally wanted to see more of him in the middle but the times we were shown that he was no great shakes. He did have a wonderful relationship with Gibbs on the left though, he laid off a lot of by line runs that Gibbs would square. Since Pod has left we haven't seen the best of Gibbs.
