What is this I hear about Arsene Wenger leaving at the end of the season because he wants a fresh challenge. He wants to manage Olympique Lyonnaise.

Yeh - I'm sure they'll pay 9m Euros p.a. for the privilege - dream on.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he ever went to a French club it would be PSG, he already owns a house in Paris, he advised them int the past, he knows the President Nasser al-Khelaifi from working on Al Jazeera, they have financial power and could pay his wages, in fact they tried to get get him before Ancelotti but failed, and he has spoken about the club in the past. Who knows in the future he may go their, perhaps as a General Manage type role I read he had always been interested in the Bundesliga partially due to that position, some say that Bayern hope he will one day take that role as he lived on the French German border so enjoys that league and the football that is played, so all in all either PSG or a Bundesliga team in the future look more likely but even they are just minor possibilities.

How poor. Another draw at home against a team of inferior players- if arteta had scored the pen it would only have papered over the cracks which are becoming more obvious by the game... Creatively and defensively we are inept, mentally we are weak and technically we are poor.
No excuses please Arsene, the fact is you've bought players who are not good enough and play football that is both ineffective (and I'd never thought I'd say this about us), and boring

There is a" Malaise" at The Emirates. We think we have a competitive squad ! We haven't. This team is going backwards, and those fans who can't see this are deluded. Too many players look tired-out. Ramsey runs in concrete boots, Mertesacker lumbers around, Giroud lacks pace, Coquelin -headless chicken ...no skill. Sagna is making too many mistakes. The misery goes on and on. Here's a forecast... 1. Mid Table. 2.Loose in Champions League knock-out. 3. Early exit from F.A. Cup. 4. Capital One Cup "disaster". Something has to change at the top of our club, but how to do this? Any answers will be gratefully received.

Agree0 Disagree2

I'm sorry but I don't agree we are poor. Mertesacker is always single out as poor but he is the real deal. Honestly, next to noe of the goals we have conceded have been his fault. Jenkinson is far from ppoor, along with Vermaelen, Koscielney, Cazorla, Podolski, Wilshere, Chamberlain and Walcott. I know we are going through a tough patch right now, but we will get through this. Who needs Van Persie when you have you young Theo! Everyone is harping on about us signing unproven average nobodies. How many of you would have said that when we signed a 20-something year old french nobody from Juventus? If he can destroy our goal scoring record then why can't Theo? or AOC? Or anyone for that matter? Before Wenger the club was a shambles, and within one season he restored our honour. Very few could do greater than him at this moment in time. Keep the faith lads. Support the team. Our team. The arsenal.

Understand what you are saying but Arteta Jack Santi Poldolski & Giroud aint bad players it's the way they are being asked to play. You can see it even theplayers don't rate it they look lost. System must change to suit the players

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris I don't deny we have good players - Cazorla is world class, he would get into any team in europe.
man for man, we are as good as man utd, i have absolutely no doubt.
my point is, Wenger just cant motivate the team, the formation and defending of set peices do not work, and havent worked for as long as i can remember now, and he is also tactically useless...
people have said things like "in arsene we trust", or "arsene will/can turn it around" - well i'm sorry, its seven years of decline, and we are continueing to decline - our worst start since 1982 - for frickssake i wasnt even alive then -
we cant keep a guy for sentimentality's sake- he's taken us as far as he can, football has moved on in seven years our team has got progressively worse.
on what basis can anyone say "things will get better"/"arsene will turn it around"?

AG

Agree0 Disagree0

Individually they are not a bad group of players, it's the tactics and motivation that are missing. When Arteta is having his worst game in an Arsenal shirt Podolski and Coquelin are taken off and Arteta is given the responsibility for taking the penalty!

Agree0 Disagree0

People saying we are declining? there hasnt been a trophy for 7 years, but when you are producing talents like AW has, and still reaching champions league football every year, and with us within a shot at all comps still come feb most years he cant be doing to bad with what many of you are calling a poor team. i agree we need to change a few things, mainly the defending. but AW will produce again. Danny

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel that we do have a good squad of players (good, not great), but tactically I am afraid that Mr Wenger has lost his touch. Problem is, he is too stubborn to change and he should be moved out or up and let somebody else take over. The other problem we have is that we have too many players who are injury prone, and a medical team who are pretty useless at identifying the problem at an early stage - the likes of Vermaelen, Wilshere and now Szeceny have all been out too long recently. Also, Wenger's recent purchases have not been great - we can't get rid of Arshavin, Chamack or Squllaci because thet are basically useless. He also bought Park - WHY, he never played him and nobody wants to take Bendtner or Djourou either. The Board seem blind and ignorant of the fact that the fans pay hard earned money to support the team and it is about time that that loyal support was rewarded. Interesting to see quite a few empty seats on Saturday against Fulham and another poor result this week will mean more people will be tuning in to Soccer Saturday instead of going to the ground -For the sake of our club - PLEASE SORT IT OUT!

We need RVP but hes at a better club that can win trophies

Where is Walcott going? Liverpool and Man City are planning on buying the young winger for a fee roughly between £7.5m-£11m. After Walcott has publicly stated that he doesn't want to play on the wing but, in an attacking midfielder role or just off the striker. Competition is tight with the likes of Santi Carzola, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho and Lukas Podolski. Another favourite who maybe leaving the Gunners is Bacary Sagna. He could be on his way to AC Milan for a fee of £13m. A player to come in the Arsenal side is the Brazilian Alexandre Pato from AC Milan. Arsenal are hoping to buy Pato for £15m.

Van persie nasari, fabragrass, song, saw what was comming who is next? also pato suffers from hamstring problems always out injured, hate to say it but the one change we have to make is the manager

Guys lets do a poll and your comments down below

If Wenger left the club who would you want to take charge out of these managers

Martinez?-I think he would be great with abit of cash to spend,he does will with a below average side.

Moyes?-Hopefully he could bring Baines and Fellani
across to the Gunners

Harry Redknap?

I would pick Martinez what about you?

Wenger is highly respected by the board and i suspect that they will appoint whoever Arsene suggests. No doubt Arsene would stick to his general transfer policy of not going for the obvious solution but rather a relative unknown. For that reason I think its likely to be that Serbian fella he was raving about a while back, the guy that coaches/coached in Japan just like he did.

Dortmund manager would be the ideal replacement

Not Martinez, he relies on last minute miracles

Moyes, pep, klopp. any of those 3

Random choice of managers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a new board first, & I'd like to see Moyes given the opportunity to manage. What we lack is organisation, shape, discipline and focus, especially when seeing games out. DM would sort out the defense, add some steel and not faff about with possession football when it's clear that it doesn't work in the premiership!

Naturally, most Gooners would say no to DM due to his style of football, but I for one am sick of the amount of times that we fail to close games out in the name of playing the 'right way', I'd happily sacrifice that for 3 points on a regular basis. DM has a proven record of signing excellent players on the same budget as Wenger, Fellaini, Lescott, Arteta, Baines, Jelavic, Pienaar etc...so we know he has an eye for a bargain!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why exactly do people rate Martinez ? Manages a team that struggle all season but performs well enough to escape relegation in the last few weeks of the season and you rate him ? Pls let us move to someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see bergkamp + henry as coaches at arsenal. Im sure the whole team and fans would love it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Frank de Boer would be first choice for me. He's doing great work at ajax, a club that shares many similarities to arsenal.

Dragan stojkovic is apparently Wenger's preferred choice though?

What's the chance of getting Frank de Boer as manager when Wenger leaves Ed? {Ed002's Note - Very slim indeed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes I would say is being set up to take over from Fergie at Man United. Arsene Wenger should not leave the club but instead take up a role as director of football or a role similar to that as his knowledge of and the arsenal way can not be questioned it would be a loss to the club should he leave completely although I do think its time for some fresh blood. Pep although a results proven manager with the likes of messi and iniesta can you really fail to deliver? It time for a gritty manager with drive and something to prove I rate Chris Houghton hes responsible deep down for the Newcastle success pulling them up with limited funds.

If wenger is limited on spending then why dont the board let usmanov have the club like he wants after all hes what the 4th richest man alive! Stan Kronke and Usmanov clearly rate the club and run it as a business we do need to start seeing some form of success though its been far to long and Im not saying i want the mickey mouse cup we need the league fa cup or champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

None of them, I'd rather Wenger

Pep Guardiola maybe

I really feel since we dropped jenkinson we lacked a real drive down the right I personally rate jenkinson over Sagna and feel his comments about how the club is run and not signing a contract are no different to Walcott however Walcott gets dropped when I sometimes slate him but feel he will be a key player for us and if sold will be missed more than a lot of supporters think. Again people are slating giroud but what service has he had also this IS his first season guys. I think we should drop tv5 he has been awful recently play kosh n mert. I fancy us to win 3:1 today - pod, giroud and mert.

Jenkinson can't cross for his life.

Agree1 Disagree0

This poster obviously doesn't watch the games, or if he does he doesn't know what he is watching! Jenks is probably the best crosser of a ball in the club. Not just my opinion, even the TV pundits make the point.
If the situation had been reversed do you think Sagna would have been dropped for Jenkinson as quickly? Then agaian, he's not French is he!!

jack has said he has no intention at all to leave arsenal. he said it's his home and he loves the club. i believe this and think he will be like gerrard and stay at the club he loves no matter what.
opinions welcome

Believable33 Unbelievable8

The way things are going with arsenal i would not be suprised if he left there is no loyality in football money talks

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont bank on it!.. One minute footballers are kissing the badge.. the next they are off.. depends where Arsenal are in the next couple of years. But when someone comes in with 200k a week.. well the rest will be history

10 Nov 2012 15:09:34
At the moment he's just glad to be playing again. If the team continues to deteriorate in terms of quality and performance - don't rely on loyalty.

Agree0 Disagree0

Al least Gerard won things we don't

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe him his words have conviction because he is English and with cesc it was a case of him wanting to return home.unlike the other whores who wanted the money what reason do u have for loyalty?was it their home?no. with jack arsenal is his natural home.
I see a terry or a gerrard here and I know he will win things many things here in his career
gimme6

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't ever go anywhere unless he is forced too by the board.
