It is going to be Samba. Apart from what I have heard, just to prove the point, Venky's want to reduce their expenses by getting the higher paid players out of the team and Samba is one of them. Check google, there would be atleast 50 articles confirming this. Samba is one of the highly paid defenders at Rovers. Wenger always wanted a defender with good strong physical presence at the back which Samba will provide and 40 k a week would be a excellent bargain for a seasoned defender.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not going to be Samba.

Thought up a perfect replacement for both Fabregas and Nasri.....

Borja Valero of Villareal in for Fabregas. Very experienced at the highest level. Good leadership. Incredible vision and execution of the ball, superb FK's and a decent shot. Can teach Wilshere and Ramsey a thing or two

Danny of Zenit St Petesburg for Nasri. Although this may seem a little un-realistic we could offer Arshavin in a player & Cash offer. Danny is just brilliant.

So, for me the shortlist of players who COULD do the job of Nasri and Fabregas (in my opinion we need 2 of the following):

Honda
Danny
Borja Valero
Diego
Aquilani
Kagawa
Banega
Jadson
Willian
Montolivo

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Jadson,diego are the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso? No? Better than any of these.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valero has just joined Villareal and also he played at WBA and couldn't cut it so why would he cut it now. Out of the choices I would like to see Kagawa and Danny/Honda

Agree0 Disagree0

Aquilani ? I'm a liverpool fan but I admire the way arsenal play the game and he's not good enough

Mata. Wilshire. Walcott

Chamahk. Gerviniho

Van persie

We are finally going to see this two transfer's in and two out.

Mata and Parker in
Fab and Nas out

Defence will be G Cahill but after the weekend

RDD

Believable8 Unbelievable12

RUBBISH No way are we signing parker because he is staying at West Ham and Valencia will keep Juan Mata because he is their star man.

I've recently been hearing a lot about Wenger's interest in Shinji Kagawa.

www.espnstar.com/football/premier-league/news/detail/item654279/Arsenal-eye-Shinji-Kagawa-swoop/

What's the story here ed? {Ed004's Note - I think he will stay at Dortmund for atleast one more season}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

11 Aug 2011 18:31:15
Ed, If Fabregas and Nasri do leave Arsenal, have they replacements lined up that you know of? I've a lot of time for Arsenal and their fans, and hope you do well but not at our expense.

Thanks.....

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed004's Note - I don't know who they are looking at, I have a feeling Wenger will trust Ramsey and Wilshere}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think they should sign another young attacking minded midfield player, like Ganso, or Sahin. Both would be good competition for places.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like Mata and Jadson will come in

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo he is right to trust ramsey and wilshire they are a great pairing in the middle did the job for us last year when we beat Man u i would just like to see us get a couple of good defenders

{Ed022's Note - I agree they make a good pair but who plays when one or both are injured??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Diaby and rosiky are the cover for the 2 in the middle they both take a lot of stick and sometimes its is well deserved but i think they will serve us fine as back ups also gervinho can play through the middle also have landsbury there for cover and it would be a shame to not give him his chances as i think he will be a top class player given the chance to shine

heard a massive rumour today that kevin doyle will be in an arsenal shirt next season.remember where ye heard it..scottish gunner..

Believable2 Unbelievable19

You mean the same Kevin Doyle who was linked w/ Arsenal at least 6 weeks ago?

lol ok

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal fans have had it bad enough this summer without people winding us up further with rumours like this

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the same kevin doyle that was linked 6 weeks ago.what player has not?.cant tell how i know but keep an eye on this one.still a few weeks to go and this person who told me is very reliable.personally id rather not see doyle in an arsenal shirt but taught id share this rumour with ye.

Tony Pullis is willing to let Robert Huth join Arsenal if he recieves a reasonable offer. p.s i fear for arsenal this season if cesc n nasri are both off. in wenger we dont trust.

Believable2 Unbelievable18

Hi, i am Liverpool fan flitting through the rumour pages,i am not having a go, but i cant believe that Arsenal fans want Wenger to go, or that you dont trust him.He as got you into the champions league time and time again, you are always in contention for a trophy with him.Be careful what you wish for,thats all i am saying.Good luck for the next season

Rumours coming from Belgium is that Arsenal have entred race for Lukaku with promise of first team action.

In Arsene we Trust

Believable4 Unbelievable21

Pretty sure hes just moved to chelsea??

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he has already signed for chelsea...? Or have I been asleep ? Oo

Agree0 Disagree0

He has stated on his on own website that there has been a delay in the transfer to chelsea as he was ment to be unveiled today wonder could it be that arsenal have come in at the 11th hour

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Errr I don't think so somehow...if you follow football you would have realised he has already signed for Chelski

{Ed022's Note - If you know football you will realise he HASN'T signed for Chelsea yet. He went to have talks over wages and a medical. He has not signed YET so less of it...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes definitely not gone through yet with Chelsea. Some delay.

News starting to break that Adam Johnson will be part of the Nasri deal to City.....that would be a tasty piece of work Professor

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Wouldn't make up for failing to resign Nasri before this summer though

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you kidding? He's a class player, get the little prima donna out and Johnson in, he's not just class but has a proper work ethic and wouldn't fade after Christmas. If this happens I think everyone will cheer up after a few games

{Ed022's Note - Agreed! I would love Johnson at Arsenal. Think he is a hard working and very creative player who is very under-rated.}

If the rumors coming in are true, AW is doing a great job replacing Nasci and Fab, specially considering hey were unhappy at Emirates:
Jadson for Cesc
Mata for Nasri
Dann and Mertesacker to stregthen the Def

Amazing job if that comes true.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

According to reports on twitter, article in kicker magazine, when asked about , Mertesacker Wenger said we have 4 central defenders ,we are in no need of any more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jadson i dont rate him i think montolivo is a much better player and is available cheap due to his contract running out. as for mata i dont no what all the hype is hes a decent player but not world class id rather if we go for javi martinez and move wilshere into a more atacking role

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't class Jadson as the 'Super Quality' AW was talking about. Dann good squad player but would like to see Vertoghen or Cahill as well. Metersacker's overrated IMO. Also would like to see a CF and LB as I don't want to see TV5 stuck out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbs late fitness test, Wilshere out for Newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we sign these guys. Dann is the one we have to move quickest on, he will chose Liverpool over us if they come in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doing a great job,dont make me laugh hes waited so long to get his arse in gear that we will struggle to put a team out against udinese,will get dumped and then will struggle with finances because of it.he knew like the rest of us fab/nasri were going so why posture about keeping them whatever,i dont believe a bloody word he says now,totally lost it due to his bloody mindedness

btw people jadson will replace cesc...he has just tweeted he will have goodnews for his fans by monday
kenyan gooner

{Ed022's Note - Good news? He might be getting double glazing put in.. Or he might have just found someone compatible on match.com. Or alternatively he could be signing for Arsenal. We just don't know...}

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Good news for HIS fans. AKA his fans at Shaktar. I should imagine that means he will announce a new contract signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha never thought of it that way..thought because we are linked heavily to him and because arsenal is bigger than shakter his moving to arsenal would have been the only bignews to him...

Agree0 Disagree0

It was mentioned by a couple of 'in the know' sorts on Twitter that Jadson was definitely in the UK today. No idea whether or not he was talking to Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, Ed this place was alot more boring without u around mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon he's getting a puppy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm friends with Jadsen's butler and I can confirm he's having double glazing put in. The current windows let the air in during the winter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah come on why would it be good news for all his shakhtar fans if he left? I can just picture the world working like that... "great news".... "what's that cesc?".... "I'm off to Barcelona"...

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 17:45:25
I think we are all reading into this press conference to much it will just be a pre match conference. Plus have any of the signings we have made this summer been announced in a press conference.
I also feel that this jadson player is just making things up to bring in attraction from other clubs just like emir spahic last summer.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

11 Aug 2011 17:42:11
Massively dissapointed that Enrique seems to be going to the Scousers (especially for just 6m). My feeling is LB is going to be a real problem position for us this season. IMO Gibbs isn't ready and Traore is not up to standard... and I'm not convinced playing TV5 at LB is a good idea... Hoping for the best but expecting the worst for the coming season.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Any of those 2 is better than Clichy, he has been awful the past 2 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

"My feeling is LB is going to be a real problem position for us this season."

There are going to be a lot of new problems for us this season. Clichy made his share of errors but he is certainly more reliable then young Gibbs.

Cesc and Nasri will probably leave and there are very few ready-made replacements in the world for either player. Unfortunately, we all know Wenger will not spend the money to bring in ready-made replacements (Mata is probably the only realistic quality replacement).

Wenger is bidding for Dann from Birmingham so clearly the center back problem won't be fixed either.

It is quite incredible that our squad has actually weakened during the summer. After the failures of last year we were all so optimistic that Wenger would finally cave and bring in the final pieces.......the squad has gone backwards while the other clubs have significantly strengthened......ugh...

Agree0 Disagree0

Who has significantly strengthened?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant help think the same thing, Gibbs is such a light weight and TV at left back is madness....why oh why have we not landed Enrigue

Agree0 Disagree0

I THINK U WILL BE SURPRISED BY GIBBS AT THE END OF THE SEASON

Agree0 Disagree0

I DON'T THINK WE QUITE HEARD YOU THERE MATE.

I think Gibbs will come into his own. Clichy was pants for last couple of seasons. I don't think Gibbs is the strongest physical presence but look what happened to Ashley, and Gibbs could easily get to that stage. As I feel like that I can see why Wenger wouldn't bring someone in, even though I wish he would.

i think fabregas is completely disrespecfull of arsenal football club , he signed a contract which still has 4 years running and he cant honour it waste of time in my opinion lets sign someone who wants to play for the club and the same said for nasri

i expect 4 players to come in which is :

dann
mertesacker
willian
jedson

Believable11 Unbelievable8

IMO that is total rubbish. He has given 8 years of service to Arsenal, made over 300 apps. He has always stated that he wishes to return to Barca one day. He has always said how much he loves Arsenal. IMO he has been a total professional.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc has done great for us the laddie just wants to go home he was a great player.players come and go but arsenal will always be there scottish gooner

{Ed022's Note - I have repeatedly said this. Don't blame Fabregas for wanting to go to the best team in Europe football wise. Its his hometown club and he has lived in England since he was about 15/16. Let him go with our best wishes and remember the games he has won single handedly. We got him for nothing pretty much and we're selling him for £30m or so. We'l buy two good players and the club will move forward.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Article in kicker , no defender needed at Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

But he will still be remembered as a player and captain that won nothing with this club. And sorry Ed, if i would love the club so much as he says then i would stay for year or two and give everything for this to achieve. He's still very young and have time to go home. For me he's not worth arsenal shirt anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a numpty. was henry disrespectful? was vieira disrespectful? NO. Iv got no problem with Fabregas wanting to leave. he wants to win trophies and quite honestly he aint gona do it at arsenal right now.

paul - rochester and yes i am an arsenal fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sorry but I am never going to remember Fabregas as 'they guy who won nothing with us'. Yes I'm annoyed he is leaving but his time has come. I will remember him for being one of the best footballers the cub will ever see, for all amazing passes, assists, goals, spirit over his 8 yr time with us. I think any fans who don't give Fab their full blessing to finally return home are pretty low, depressing individuals.

Yes it may be disappointing that he signed a contract til 2014 but there comes a point where u have to grow up, suck it up and move on with your life, players ans fans alike, and I for one will NEVER remember Fabregas as 'that captain who won nothing for us'. Seriously what is wrong with us Gooners?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 16:43:00
Ed is it just me but I'd prefer to see Willian or Douglas Costa join rather than Jadson?

{Ed022's Note - I'd rather see Will.I.Am or Prince William if im completely honest...}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Such a joker. Btw Ed, when I put an exclamation mark does it just give you a mad code of symbols? Wondering as mine never end up in my posts. Here's a test :

Raz

{Ed022's Note - Nothing came up!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Weird. I wonder why not - any ideas?

I have always thought that because sometimes thos mad codes come up that perhaps mine were being deleted by the Eds. So... any ideas - they are a useful part of grammar for me There was one but you didn't see it did you?

Here's another one :

Raz

{Ed022's Note - Still nothing. Just fill your posts with rumours or banter. Punctuation is not required...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Prince william today Pippa as a pillow yesterday there seems to be a Royal fetish going on.

{Ed022's Note - Im just patriotic...}

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a crazy thought but is it possible that wenger sees AOC and Myachi as Nasri's replacement and Rambo as cescs? i think we would all be very disappointed if this were the case but what do ya think?
BD

{Ed022's Note - This is Arsene Wenger. Anything is possible. I will say the fact Miyiachi has been given a WP now puts a move for Mata in doubt as no doubt Wenger will come out with the line "I didn't sign Mata as I didn't want to kill Miyiachi's or AOC's careers..."}

Agree0 Disagree0

Even If He Does Feel That The Replacement Are Already Within The club Wouldnt We Still Have Find Some Back Up?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

11 Aug 2011 16:35:12
Ed, in your opinion are we all reading too much into this press conference tommorow morning, i assume it would be the standard pre game press conference no?

{Ed022's Note - I too would say its the normal "Friday Press Conference" that Wenger has every Friday before a match day since the beginning of time. There maybe information on signings granted but I think its earlier because we're travelling up north to Newcastle. Nothing more, nothing less...}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Arsenal will hold a press conference tomorrow but it won't be at 9am and it will be about the newcastle game on Saturday and the game a head.

No transfers will be announced. in or out.

Arsenal have arranged a press conference for 9am tomorrow morning where they will announce the sale of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. They have also lined up Jadsen of Shakhtar Donetsk as a replacement for around £10 million.

Most recent Jadson quote: "If everything goes to plan, I'll have some news for everyone at the start of next week. Hope it works out".

Believable6 Unbelievable3

He's ok by me scored against spuds 2009 in europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to metro jadson is in london already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we looking supposedly looking at so many players from the ukrainian league? If Nasri and Fabregas leave, like i think they will, i will not be a happy camper unless i see signings of proven quality such as mata.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 15:25:40
Rumoured that Bryan Ruiz has welcomed interest from Arsenal according to Sky Sports.

Dont know bout many of you but I believe this player is very good, and would be an ideal replacement for either Fabregas or Nasri. Not only would he be cheap from the Dutch league but he is a very similar play to Fabregas but with the added bonus of being a good header of the ball.

What you guys think?

Essex Gunner

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Completely agree but isnt he a striker? plays in the similar positions to Gervinho and Theo. His free release clause is 13.5million

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he looks good

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought (by my FM knowledge) that he was a winger on the left, rather than a striker

prove me wrong though

{Ed022's Note - He is a winger most of the time but is a player who can play all three attacking roles (wingers and striker) if neccessary...}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 14:50:58
as fabregas heads out of arsenal for 35 mil and nasri for 25 mil arsenal are looking to sign jedson for around 8 mil and also juan mata. i have to say that jedson is a great player and will be a good replacement for cesc or nasri and mata is just a beast. Expect these 2 signings in the nex 2 weeks and also scott dann and per mertasacker. Also joel campbell deal will be done soon

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Sounds great to me, fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

me and a mate had a chat earlier, he asked me who i think we will sign, i said exactly those 5...

{Ed022's Note - Well done you. Mystic Meg strikes again...}

Agree0 Disagree0

How small do you have to be to view Mata, the 5'5" monster, as a beast?

Kermit79

{Ed022's Note - Just for the record Kermit Mata is a "beast" of player technically. Also, Mata is actually 5ft 7. Also, size doesn't matter if you're good enough. Who's the best player on the planet? Lionel Messi? How tall is he?? Yes, thats right, 5ft 7...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas is so desperate to go
he even said him self he'll pay 4 million to go

{Ed022's Note - Right let's just clear this up as you're not the first person to say this and you probably won't be the last. Fabregas is NOT paying £4m towards the transfer. As he is on a long-term contract until 2014 and he hasn't actually in writing declared he wants to leave he is "owed" £4m or so in loyalty payments for the duration of his contract. To smooth negotiations and make it easier all round he has said he will waive this payment so Arsenal don't have to pay it and Barca don't have to add this onto the transfer fee to cover it. He's not walking to the bank, withdrawing £4m and throwing that onto the table! He's just not getting it paid to him...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal will sign Dann for 6m and Mertesacker for 6m, Rather than spending 15-20m on either Cahill or Jags, combined fee of 12m....

Dann i think will be a star and personally cant see why everyone is berating him... We all called for PL experience, well here we go

Rather than spending 15-20m on either Cahill or Jags.

Personally a good bit of Business if it happens....

No source, just gut feeling but than again that may be the chilli wrap i had for lunch.

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Danns a scouse fan,he ll go there

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, heard that ok but he also said he wants to test himself in the Champions League, so its a matter of "who knows"

Agree0 Disagree0

Try rennies no but seriously good post a couple of players that could do a job for us rather than overpriced media favourites. RED ARMY

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for the tip mate, they worked a treat hahah..

No this type of deal has Wenger all over it.. And we will probably get Cahill for 5m in Jan or even free in the summer, providing no one else snaps him up, personally i aint really pushed on Jags...

Nasri will sign a new contract. Cesc leaves and 3 new signing by Monday

Reports in Spain claim that Arsenal and Valencia have reached an agreement to take mata to the emirates once the sale of fabregas goes through.

Dann talks moving quickly talks also continue with bolton over Gary Cahill.

Nasri move also looks iminent city offering £22m arsenal want closer to £26m but are willing to meet city at £24m, arsenal also in talks with jadson ( don't rate him to be honest.) ed what is your views on all of this? And jadson?

{Ed022's Note - Not doing backflips about Dann if im honest. Feel we should stump up the cash and get our preferred options and stop messing about. As for Jadson, don't know too much about him. Probably speculation as is for now. We'l be linked to several hundred central midfielders now...}

Believable5 Unbelievable4

I'm with Ed on the Dann business - by no means a bad addition, and the season before last (where Dann wasn't injured for most of it) Bham were one of the toughest teams to beat, their defence was solid, so I am not unhappy at all. But I agree sometimes we should just asess the market, line up our targets, pay the price and get our men in and working with the squad. This cutting corners business will invite trouble.

Raz

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 11:25:49
Arsenal are in preliminary talks over the signing of Scott Dann..what do you think ed? is it a case of something rather than nothing?

{Ed022's Note - I think we're testing the water to see wage demands etc. Also might be trying to get Cahill and Jagielka to force a move to Arsenal. If they see Arsenal going for Dann it might be the encouragement needed for Cahill/Jags to ask for a move as I think they're Wengers preferred targets but they're too expensive. Dann is the cheaper option.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Ed: in regards to Dann and Wengers preferred options in defence, do you not think that Dann would be a very good centre back for us. Up until he got injured, Birmingham were not having the worst season and although losing games, they were not shipping goals. I just think he has a bit more about him and maybe a bit under-rated as he is not as high profile as Jags, Cahill, Samba etc.

{Ed022's Note - My lack of enthusiasm is probably harsh as he is a good CB and totally agree that he did a great job for Birmingham. I just feel we need a first team CB signed to partner TV. If Wenger sees Dann as the best available option then who am I to argue...}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 14:16:47
Wenger has up his offer for Jags up too 15million.Heard from a very good Everton source over here in Dublin.Moyes doesnt want to accept but The Everton board are to be called together by cartwright to discuss accepting .They know he is 28 and its probably last chance for him to be sold for big money.Money which Everton need

Believable7 Unbelievable4

This may be true, but you have to admit that your credibility may be undermined by the fact that you have got the Everton chairman's name wrong; it's KENwright, not CARTwright. I can only hope that your source is genuine but that you yourself no nothing about Everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt mind if this is true.
Dann and Jags wouldnt be bad at all, as Jags can play CB as well as a DM.
Jags can play DM against the teams when we need that extra steel, with TV5 and Dann at the back, can switch it around with Jags and Dann at the Back with TV5 LB.. good options there I think..
N9 Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this possibly the re-emergence of Dublin Gooner??

So Dan Roan saying that an early morning press conference tomorrow @ 9.
Is this the obvious or is it something else?

Pre match press conference every friday for the last 15 or so years...why are people making a deal out of it, its slightly earlier thna usually because they are travelling to newcastle which as im sure your aware is nt round the corner.
---he of common sense---

Agree0 Disagree0

Where you see this mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the obvious. Footballs back now. early morning press conference no longer mean possible a transfer now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah seen it now on Twitter... Would this not just be our standard pre match?

{Ed022's Note - Yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of injuries, fab and nasri going and we try to bring in a super qual player before the end of the transfer window. Well its not looking good for this week.I don't class Dann as super quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I assume its regarding the sale of fab and or nasri...?
We usually hear something about medicals, so I don't think it will be announcing any new players, but you never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barca called a press conf at 9 too...although it means 10am our time...lol

something to do with cesc?

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle game on Saturday and if there are any developments regarding Cesc Fabregas' future will be discussed. It all depends on the next 5 hours whether he will be confirming that Fabregas will be laeving Arsenal Football Club and who the Captain will be for the forthcoming, believed to be Robin Van Persie.
It is very unlikely that a new signing will be announced but if reports are true then two most likely suspects are Scott Dann and the boy from Shaktar Donetsk.

Nasri will be a city player by the end of the day 25m

Believable3 Unbelievable7

If this is true, its an awesome amount for a player that has a year remaining on his contract & only performed well for half a season. He can easily be replaced.

Press conference with Wenger called for 0900 tomorrow...

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Well fab is old news now...nasri ? Well even that is not exactly a secret that he might be going...unless he has signed a new contract? New players ? Unlikely.

This could be nothing at all,but a friend of mine how is a senior steward at the Emirates who is on a training day,has just text me to say there is loads of activity at the ground today,including AW and members of the Board all arriving at main entrance at approx 12.45.Could be nothing,but lots of serious faces apparently.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

That means nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone here said there is a board meeting today where the Cesc deal is to be agreed, Nasri offered improved contract etc etc

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a board meeting there today. Rumours that there is a press conference 0900 in the morning,could be announcing, Jadson,Dann and Mata?

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a tweet on the BBC page from Dan Roan saying that tomorrows press conference has been grough forward to 9am. Arrivals or Departures?

{Ed022's Note - You make it sound like an airport....}

Agree0 Disagree0

COBBLERS-GOONER.... Board Meeting today, press conference will be to announce Fabregas departure for £35-£40M plus add ons. Nasri will then be offered improved terms and will sign a 4 year deal by next weekend.

The Arsenal bandwagon continues to roll.. replacements for Cesc Fabregas anyone? Now the latest is Shakhtar Donetsk's Jadson for a fee between €8-€10m, say L'Equipe.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Yeah i heard of it. its on goal.com

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be good.. Shakhtar are very similiar to us in play, Jadson has also been capped by Brazil recently 4 times... Wouldnt mind this happening, his scoring rate is pretty similiar to Fabs aswell, dont know about Assists though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah every technically proficient 'ball' playing central midfielder will be linked with us now, just in case that get one right...

Agree0 Disagree0

Why go for a player who is 27 and has possibly maxed his potential and who i feel is not better than ramsey?

this is pissing off that we sell for 30 million and buy for 10...fkin wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you even seen him play? he is natrually gifted and has a lot of experience. he got chosen for the brazil squad in the south american tournament and you think he is no better then ramsey. you need to have your eyes checked mate

A bid has been accepted for Cesc Fabregas (approx 38million) and will be announced in press conference later today. Arsenal set to offer Samir Nasri a new deal and also continue their pursuit of Juan Mata. Arsene Wenger expected to make a decision on whether to bid for Mertesacker, Cahill, Samba or Dann (Jagielka value to high in Wengers eyes) Expect Samba and/or Dann. Also latest rumours are that Eljero Elia is in London having talks.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Nasri is going to City.

Agree0 Disagree0

COBBLER-GOONER...... Nasri will be offered improved terms after Fabregas' departure is announced at press conference, Nasri will sign 4 year deal close to £120k / Week. I think we can get Mertesaker for as little as £6M, so i've heard, if this is true, its a bargain.... get him.

ssn saying were in talks with blues for dann

Believable11 Unbelievable5

So were getting 40 mill for fab and getting 22 mill for nas and spending 6 m on dann, great profit

Agree0 Disagree0

People are taking every opportunity to moan Dann is one player, there will be more, calm down FFS

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Dann has been a great defender in the Prem at times but that Samba has got more of the fire that we need to wake up some of our dozy youngsters. But if Wenger goes for Samba he needs to not quibble over the value and make the player feel small. Pay the asking price, say he's worth more than what we paid and stick him in the team.

Wenger seriously needs to start caring and being enthusiastic about defence, or get someone in on his team that is.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will not be our only CB signing though DW

Got a call from a pal who reside in spain about some hours ago, he said juan mata deal is not off yet as he is looking forward to playing along v. p after he watch him score a superb goal against barca at the emirate. Fab will be gone within the next 48hrs(wish him goodluck). Rebel nasri will follow in a shameful manner(i hate that dude). Bendtner will remain in the premiership as he looks to tie up a deal with stoke. Ed? Please tell me if am wrong

Heard from Daily Mail that Rodallega could be a target for Wenger. Not too bad back up

Believable7 Unbelievable10

I am relatively non-plussed by this, but I would prefer him to Chamakh- more pace, better shot, more skill, almost as good in the air.

Rather have odemwinge

I work for Arsenal FC and the truth is Wenger will not be spending any money from the Fabrigas to Barca and Nasri to Man city deals, apart from a centre back comming in there will be no other new players due to financial constraints from the board.

Club Insider

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Why would they say differently in public then? That will only cause them more trouble and pressure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah of course you do........................

Agree0 Disagree0

For someone who works at the arsenal, you dont know how to spell fabregas' name

Agree0 Disagree0

I just can't believe any of this. Anone who worked there would not be posting and news at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are talking crap. For one it is easy for the editor to forward your IP address and information to the club and you would be fired immediately for leaking inside information.

mhc503 {Ed001's Note - except we never would do that in a case like this. The only IP addys I have ever forwarded were idiots trying to organise more riots this week using the sites as communication medium. The posts they attempted to submit and the IP addy used was forwarded to the police.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Crap ..... you don't work for Arsenal you person

If it were true that the board would not allow Wenger to buy replacements for Cesc & Nasri ... he would have taken Parker on loan & Barton for free to make up the numbers.

What an person

Agree0 Disagree0

This is unbelievable, not what you've said but if the board have said this then I'm flabbergasted. We were told as fans arsenal have a large war chest to buy players. We've sold clichy, for 7 mill fab is going for 29 mill euros up front, samir may go for 20+ mill. So far we've spent approx 25 mill on jenkinson, Gervinho and AOC. So even taking the cesc and nasri amounts out of the equation we've only spent 18mill. Is that all our budget was? The fans pay a fortune to watch these games and I'd be disgusted if that was it and our budget can't stretch to a back up forward and Mata. Not sure why I keep going on about that deal but I'd like to see the club show some ambition and sign a player of his quality considering we are selling a player of much higher quality in cesc. If this really is it plus a CB which may be Dann from the blue's they are short sighted and the fans won't suffer for this to be honest. I really hope u are wrong in your statement and I think any arsenal fan would hope u are wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

What the..... well done all EDs involved. What rats. {Ed001's Note - we were shocked ourselves, couldn't believe the gall of them, though the stupidity was expected!}

Agree0 Disagree0

That will not happen it will be suicide from wengers end.

Defender yes...

but in reality he will need to buy one player..juan mata should be that player. He has champions league experience.

For me our lineup should go something like

Persie up front, mata left wing, gervinho right wing, Ramsey behind persie, song and wilshere behind ramsey, gibbs, vermalen, koser, sagna and sczesny.

subs : walcott, arshavin,Chamakh, frimpong, Jenkinson, AOC, Miyachi

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbishYou must be a Spud.

Agree0 Disagree0

On one hand I wouldn't be shocked by this news, we are talking about arsenal... However, on the other I don't believe this poster for 1 sec and I do think Wenger will want to strengthen the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Well crearly you know absolutely nothing.. Months ago it was the board who were presuring wenger to spend... every recent reports has stated that wenger will spend all the money from the fabregas transfer to bolster the squad...

i hope nasri either signs a new contract or leaves...

would love to see Dann and Mertesaker (spelling?? lol) signed >>>> squilaci out

bentner OUT >>> give vela more opportunity... if he's not up to it by January then sign a young striker as backup for RVP, Gervinho and Chamakh

Mata to replace Fabregas and Jadson to replace Nasri

HOPEFULLY....

Agree0 Disagree0

FFS I cannot believe how thick some people are.

Agree0 Disagree0

COBBLERS-GOONER..... YOU LIAR..... you do not work for Arsenal, your a yod Fabregas will be going (announced at press confrerence soon) and Nasri will sign improved contract, 4 years @ £120k / Week ....... AW will sign Mata to replace Fab and a CB (Mertesaker ive heard will only cost £6M..... Deal of century if you ask me). There are no financial constraints or barriers for AW, he has a chest of about £30M already to spend, added to that what he gets for Fabregas, makes in in excess of £55M, although he will not spend all of it in this window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your delusional, they dont tell people that work in the gift shop what our transfer policies are.

Arsenal will also attempt to strengthen their defensive ranks, though the Birmingham City centre-half Scott Dann appears more likely to swap the Championship club for Liverpool than the Londoners. Wenger may therefore return to long-standing targets in Bolton's Gary Cahill and Christopher Samba at Blackburn Rovers as he attempts to add more brawn to his back-line.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

So y r Arsenal 1/4 to sign Dann then.

Agree0 Disagree0

'SHOCK HORROR'

AW opts for the cheapest of Cahill, Jagielka, Samba & Dann. Arsenal are going to pocket close to £75m after flogging Cesc, Nasri, Bendtner & Clichy and instead of signing a solid experienced Jagielka or Cahill, he signs a cheap Championship defender. He refuses to meet Mata's 23m euro buyout clause and now it's 60m euro.

It's understandable that some Arsenal fans want him gone, but I think it is more to do with the fact that all of the properties are sold and the investors want their dividends.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

On bbc site the club are saying any money from fabergas sale will be spent on players, but no mention of any money to be used if and when nasri goes. Please do not forget another ' Wengerism ' that if we sell both of them we cannot be considered ' a big club '

Agree0 Disagree0

Where was this copied from?

Get ready for a extremely hectic two days at the club.

Right here we go;

Board meeting today where they will accept the barca bid for fabregas and offer nasri and even better deal than what is on the table.

So arsene has some money and he will tell the board there are two bid he wants to put in;

Mata; £18m
Cahill £15m + £2m add-ons

Bendtner will be gone by tomorrow loads of clubs no point listing

Nasri could be gone by Tuesday
