According to reports in Spain, Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, a player they were linked to in the summer.

The 23 year old Benzema, who joined Real in 2009 from French side Lyon, has a prolific scoring record and would be seen as the high profile signing that the Arsenal fans are craving for.

Benzema certainly ticks several of the boxes required by manager Arsene Wenger. He is young, French and has a great record in front of goal.

Certainly Benzema moving to the Emirates has more chance of happening than German striker Podolski joining Arsenal from Cologne, but it remains to be seen if Madrid are prepared to let the French international leave.

Only yesterday Benzema scored the fastest ever goal in an El Clásico match, just 22 seconds into the game.

Not Sure About This One

He's a starter at Madrid. What exactly do we have to offer him that they don't? These rumors always pop up around the window opening time and really piss me off. Benzema, and Higuain for that matter, will be at Madrid for a very very long time.

Benzema more of a chance then podolski r u for real? benzema is doing great at madrid why wud HE want to leave

Ok this may not make sense to those who believe in starting spots.

Benzema and higuain against barcelona arent as clinical as the barcelona forwards.

The reason madrid want neymar is cause he is that clinical forward who can create when given the ball.

Ronaldo had a below par game, di maria was average besides 2-3 shots, benzema was quiet most of the time.

Considering they hounded barca for 45 mins they got nothing and once that 2nd goal went it....it was all over.

Benzema as young and as good as he is...he doesnt shine against barcelona.

For me right now besides messi and ronaldo we have the 3rd best in form player on the planet in RVP.

I dont see wenger selling RVP. but instead build around him with talent.

btw just so everyone knows. David Villa is for sale...not officially but he has been off form and if a team comes in with the right offer barcelona will listen. not in january but in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbh I can see your logic but the only way we get Benzema is if RVP goes to Madrid. And just to correct you we have the NO.1 in form player on the planet! ;)

StEvE

Not true "StEvE" - They won't need RvP when they're signing Neymar. Wouldn't be logical.

The original post is nonsense.

Just to add, Neymar will end up at Barca. Guillem Ballague said on Revista de La Liga last week that he believed Madrid weren't happy that he signed a new contract and Barca stepped in and he will now move
there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Difference of opinion here but I'd take a Premier League proven superstar in RVP over Neymar any day! :D

Caught Offside says real madrid are going to bid £74 million for RvP
this may be a little optimistic but i would say Benzema and Di Maria for Rvp if we have to let him go

You will find that the 74 mil includes 39 mil in wages. Transfer fee is only 35 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Caught offside stated, Real Madrid may bid for RvP and offer would be £35Mil bid as only 12 months on contract and £35+ Mil for new wages over term = £74mil

Matt the sheppey Gunner!

Agree0 Disagree0

I kind of wasnt taking it seriously so thats why i suggested getting both benzema and di maria, not everything on this website has to be taken seriously you know

real madrid in 4 teves so expect wenger to make a move for benzema as seen as perfect partner for rvp who will then sign a new improved contract to remain at arsenal for the rest of his career

Benzema is madrids first choice striker i dont think he will going anywere but personally i think higuain is better

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuain would be more the type of talent that would fit in to the arsenal squad. benzema, fastest goalmy arse at the start of the season the guy was off form. nope higuain or better yet diego forlan. thats a tipical gonner signing.
