If we do sign Giroud and get rid of Park, Bednter and Chamakh next season we will have a pool of 4 left footed strikers : Robin Van Persie, Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell I don't have a problem with that but there is a bit of an imbalance if we play with more than one striker which has happened a few times this season when we have been chasing games.

Yes could be a minor issue attacking the right side of the box as Podoloski is very one footed he is all left and RVP's right is not much better really. RVP has played well on the right side of mind before for Holland in cutting in onto his left, but it does kind of mean we will rely more heavly on the RB for width wide right for any crosses coming in.

Ideally you would want strikers that are capable on both feet but these types of strikers are quite rare.

Agree0 Disagree0

^van persie has an awesome right foot

Agree0 Disagree0

Henry Bergkamp Wiltord Kanu all right footed and not a problem.
Arguablely the best squad strike force in the PL ever was Yorke Cole Sheringham Solskjaer and they were all right footed.
I dont care about if there all left footed as long as they score goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep park then

Agree0 Disagree0

All of man u main strikers are right footed, it really isn't a issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

GIROUD is quite good with his right foot + van persie scored 10+ goals with his right foot this season, nothing to worry about

Agree0 Disagree0

No on is being realistic... How would we fit:

Giroud Podolski RVP Walcott Gervinho all into the same team?

Giroud could only be a replacement for RVP. Otherwise, that is 15mln to allocate to other areas of the squad.

Arsenal fans complain about having no strength in depth and then moan when we buy reinforcements in those areas. Look at the Milan game we had no options when legs got tired. Now Gervinho and possibly Giroud (tempting fate?) can both come from the bench and mix it up.

In Arsene I Trust.

We are going for Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich. Believe what you want.

Ben

Believable15 Unbelievable22

Can't see Arsenal paying the fee Bayern would want.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will believe what I want and I sure as heck don't believe that. It's very rare for German stars to leave Bayern. Why would they? It's like top English players moving abroad. It hardly ever happens.

Slick Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

Very unlikely, few German players would willing leave Beryern Munich or Dortmund for that matter and Arsenal is not exactly a step up from them really is it. Fringe players yes may move but not integral first teamers like Muller.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben will be wrong AGAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

To put it simply... There is no chance at all!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I don't believe this to be true at all, the origin of this rumour is because it is said muller is unhappy being second fiddle to Kroos who has taken his starting place.

Bermy gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not give it a bash? He says if he continues as a sub he wants to leave. I'd like to see the club at least try a wee 15 mil bid for him. I don't see us getting him but why not try!?!

J

Agree0 Disagree0

What im saying is out of the blue there is no rumour going round.

Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance... Podolski, theo, ox, gerv and miyaichi after another years loan stint, we don't need any more wide players! Plus as already stated German stars don't leave Bayern Munich.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't rate him that much.

BgdGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben, put some money where your mouth is - Muller is 20/1 to join Arsenal on skybet.
KJ

Agree0 Disagree0

There could be something in it..although unlikely as he said last week or his agent..forget which..that Inter Milan is a possibility and a great club!

There not even in the Champs League and with us offering that and having Podolski, Mert and Einsfield and Holtby on his way in the next year or so...he could see Arsenal as a home from home! Lol

You never know! I'd say 35-45% chance of happening.

What do you all think of debuchy looked sharp and apparently Newcastle bound

Welshgooner

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Good reserve for sagna

Agree0 Disagree0

Debuchy looked really good. Will be a good signing.

CT

Agree0 Disagree0

With Sagna missing the start of the season, I don't fancy relying on Jenkinson. He'd be a good reserve and would challenge Sagna for the first team spot.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he would be the perfect signing for right back as he would learn from sanga whilst jenkinson is on loan then will be top drawer by the time sanga retires.

Bermy gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to see a bid for the Italian rb maggio from Napoli, looked class and very dangerous getting forward.

FJF

Agree0 Disagree0

And once Sagna is fit...

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be daft. To get into the French team he has to be first choice with his club. He isn't going to move here and compete with Sagna at Arsenal and for the national team

From Christian Eriksen on Vertonghen

"He is a brilliant signing for Tottenham and a really, really good player. He is too good for the Dutch league now. It's too easy for him and it's the right time for him to leave," said the Danish international.

"He is the best player in Holland and has all the skills that will make him a success in the Premier League. He is good with and without the ball, he is physically strong and he's a leader for the team.

"From what I see, Tottenham like to play good football so I think he will be a perfect signing for them. I know there was interest from other clubs but he made up his mind. I'm sad to see him leave Ajax but it's a good transfer for him."

Sounds like a done deal, off to spurs

Believable22 Unbelievable13

Who cares dude, spurs are finnished all there best talent are out the door. if wenger wanted him we would have him, can we move on now?

Arsenal are set to potentially hijack the deal that Roma have reportedly got in place to sign Danish Central Defender Simon Kjaer in a deal worth £10,000,000

Believable25 Unbelievable18

Does he not already play for Roma?

Paul - Rochester

Agree0 Disagree0

No no no, he has played one (1) good game, that was against Holland, he is s**t and dont have EPL class....

Agree0 Disagree0

He is s**t, so i dont hope this is real, and i mean s**tter than Squillaci....

Agree0 Disagree0

I swear he is still a wolfsburg player

Agree0 Disagree0

He is officially a Wolfsburg player but has been on loan at Roma and they are supposed to have a deal in place to sign him

Agree0 Disagree0

No way, he makes mistakes every game and is worse than Djourou

Agree0 Disagree0

Noooo he plays, if we are lucky 1 good game every 18 month - DONT BUY PLEASE

Ed, anything more you got on this? Is it possible?

Now apparently Montpellier are keen to flog Giroud to Chelsea for cash + Lukaku!

What's that all about? Anyone (ed's included) know if it's true or just media BS?

D

Believable5 Unbelievable30

Where have you heard this?

Let's hope it's just BS think he will be good at arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea payed around 18m for Lukaku last summer. Giroud's buy out clause is 12m I believe, sounds like complete bull.

Ben X.

Agree0 Disagree0

Media BS lukaku who cos Chelsea 17mil last season some how I find it hard to believe. Giroud has already said money is not a motivation for him. Realistically would he get a game in chelsea team week in week out with all the forwards they have??

Agree0 Disagree0

It's media bs

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would they need him, they would have too many attacking players to all get a chance, especially with new signing they would have torress, sturridge, hazard, hulk (if he signs), mata, malouda, lukaku and other signing to come in, also, they have other midfielders who can fill in a bit further up.

bs18

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a report from Radio Monte Carlo last night that stated that Arsenal were about to open negotiations with Montpellier over Giroud.

The same report mentioned that Montpellier would prefer to deal with either Arsenal or Chelsea and to take Chamakh or Lukaku (depending on which team they did eventually deal with) in return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku is off to Werder Bremen as part of the Marko Marin deal anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku would be given to them on loan, Torres is thier only real central striker so it could make sense
