Evening Eds,
Reports are suggesting that Arsenal (or as we know, Kia) are trying to work out a way in which a deal can be done for Joleson Fernandes, which could even include offering players. Are we right to assume that he's out number 1 target for this window with Willian nearing completion and Auba close to agreeing a new deal?
Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about who is the "number 1 target". The words are meaningless to me.}

Hi Ed,

Any credibility to the story of a swap between Torreira and Diawara (Roma) ?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of such a discussion. Diawara has only been there for a year.}

Good Morning Ed,
There are various reports this morning that Fulham are interested in signing Calum Chambers for a fee believed to be around £12m.
Are you aware of any interest in Calum or any of our other CB's for that matter?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Arsenal for Calum Chambers but they are looking for another CB after adding Michael Hector in January. The want experience and have spoken with Branislav Ivanovic and it would not be out of the question that they could look to CC.}

Nice one Ed thanks for that. It would be a good move for him.

Stuttgart were supposedly interested in taking Sokratis permanently but I guess that interest stopped when they signed Mavropanos on loan?

{Ed002's Note - Stuttgart have added Anton as well. His agent has said Sokratis is not looking to leave, but the club need to move CBs on.}

They sure do Ed, thank you. I don't believe for a moment that Gabriel Magalhaes will sign for Arsenal but the reports that we are showing serious interest seem to be growing. Fingers crossed we can move some on but Mari, Saliba, Luiz and Holding should be ample cover.

Contracts really are a double edged sword aren't they! When they protect you're best interests they sre brilliant but when they protect players you would like to move on we're not so keen on them.

Exactly that mate. As much as I like Calum Chambers I just think it's best that he finds football elsewhere tbh. He has always struggled with injury and consistency at Arsenal and at 25 he really needs a good run in a team somewhere. I would love to see him go to Fulham again next season and have a wonderful year even if it does make us regret it as Arsenal fans.

I wonder if going forwards clubs will offer shorter contracts with option to extend?
I'm still hoping we can keep AMN.

The problem is Sally no player is going to agree to giving the club all the power, the Bosman ruling put pay to clubs being able to control players beyond thier contracts.

Personally I think a 2 year rolling contract is the way forward where if any player whether it's Auba or Calum who refuses to sign a 2 year renewal is made available each summer.

Yes it means players are more free to force a move but it also prevents another Mesut situation happening.
