Based on little more than rumours coming from Italy on Pods "successful" start.

Do you think Wenger saw exactly what the issue with the player was, correctly ignored calls to play him and loan him out?

I am a little pro-wenger but I think he got it spot on

Thought?

He's doing well over there because seria A is basically a league of walking football. Watched a bit of it over the last week and the quality is just so poor and the game is so boring. Suits podolski because whilst he's a great guy etc. he's bloody lazy

Seriously.

"The Steven Gerrard Tour?".

I know he's a Scouser, but I don't remember him being the 5th Beatle.

Don't get me wrong. The man is a legend.
He's been a loyal servant to club and country, but if I was paid £100,000 per week, plus match bonuses, plus signing on bonuses, plus media endorsements, plus huge wage rises every year, I would be loyal too.

Like I said, the man is a legend, certainly on the red side of Liverpool, even the blue side (bar Ed025), would probably agree the man deserves legendary status.

But a Stevie G tour?
Get the F out of here.

{Ed025's Note - how is he a legend?...fine player, the same as lampard, drogba, joey barton etc..never will be a henry, cantona, shearer, bergkamp or mo besic.. :)

C'mon Ed,
You have put him in same bracket as Joey Barton? (Not too mention Besic lol).

Stevie G is a near legend.
Same team for 17 years, captain or vice captain for 13 years.
Has won 2 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, Champs League, Eufa Cup and 2 Super Cups.

100 England Caps.
2009 Zidane described him as the best player in the world.
Nominated in PFA team of the year a record 8 times.
FIFA team of the year 3 times.
Players player of the year 2006.
And the only player to have scored in Champ League final, Eufa cup final, FA Cup Final and League Cup Final.

Ed, you got your Blue glasses on?

{Ed025's Note - as i said..he is quite good dags..

Ed025 wouldn't know about all of that dags, as he hasn't had much interest in the champions league of late, leaving valuable time for school of science lessons in, hip-flask operations, budgie smuggling, and cutting some shapes on the dunes.

lauding I agree Ed, furballs in the throat and all that, but surely applauding.
You must have been impressed a wee bit when he daisy_-cuttied a fierce drive past the German goalkeeper for his 1st England goal.
And he's carried our club consistently higher than our neighbours (yours truly) during his tenure, so he's quite strong too!

I think the guy deserves so much respect. He's had a massive career and never really done or said anything malicious or controversial, either on the pitch or to the media - he's a footballer that is only interested in playing football. I do also respect him for picking his head up after that slip which ruined his fairytale title winning ending at Liverpool. Also, with all this money in the modern game, I think he's one of the last players we'll see who spends pretty much his whole career at a club even though he is in high demand and plus his attitude is admirable, it's clear to even me that he would die for his club. Everton have Osman who I believe is a one-club man too but the fact that Stevie G was a Liverpool fan as a kid makes it perfect.

What I guess I'm trying to say is, regardless of what you think of his footballing ability, he deserves more respect than half of the professional footballers combined. Football rivalry is great and he's the player that the toffee's love to hate but I think even they'll take their hats off to him when he retires.
