Hey EDs, you've said we have interest in Benzema and I won't pester you about that, but I was wondering if now that Ramos is no longer and option for Man U, do you think that they will think about trying to sign Benzema with De Gea going the other way?

Some of these supposed ITKs claiming madrid has received an offer for him of more than just money, though I know what you guys think of them lol.

{Ed025's Note - imo lemon..and it is just an opinion..de gea moving will start the merry go round between the elite clubs, and hopefully will see benzema end up at the emirates..

It's getting close to the end of the window :)

Surely we are at the business end - I would be very happy with : Krychowiak And Cavani

Could Cavani happen?

{Ed025's Note - i think they will try SY, if they cant get benzema mate..

Thanks Ed, I personally would rather have Cavani but may be that's greedy or may be I just want to challenge for the league :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think you will be challenging whatever happens SY..

Ed, I somewhat agree but not with the possibility of victory as for every FA Cup final display against Villa, there is a Monaco result waiting to happen because of very small compromises across the team which haunts us too often.

Where's the Henry to get us out of trouble when we are two down to Liverpool? Where's the Pires or Paddy to turn a game or. Keown to grab the game to close it out.

We are too likely to conceed a goal or unlikely to score due to compromises.

To be champions - that cannot happen.

Not sure if Cavani or Benzema changes that but can only help. Just like Cech.

Fingers crossed and thank you for all the updates and banter

{Ed025's Note - its a pleasure mate..

In my opinion, Ed025 hit the proverbial nail on the head with the merry go round theory.

It was similar with Özil.

We sold Gervinho to Roma, which made them let Lamela go, which made the Bale move happen and that made our move for Özil go.

It'll be similar here.

Utd will sign another keeper (Muslera is being touted) as Valdes is also leaving, That'll let them sell De Gea to Madrid for a GK record fee and in turn, they'll sell U.S. Benzema to offset the cost of De Gea and help finance a forward who'll be happy to be second fiddle for them.

Don't forget, Ronaldo is RM's striker for this season, so any striker they sign will have to be happy with a role from the bench and top level forwards, aren't going to be.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them bring in a younger, Spanish forward to increase the Spanish contingent at the club, they've made shrewd signings so far, buying Casilla back from Espanyol and Vasquez back from....I want to say deportivo? (My memory is foggy!)

As for all the links with City/Utd, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he won't go to either.
At City he'd be second fiddle to Aguero, plus they're trying to bring in younger talent it seems.
And they still have Bony and the young Nigerian lad who's name I somehow find it impossible to remember...

At Utd, he'd be second fiddle to Rooney, who's their captain and has been promised the role as their main striker.
They'll keep Hernandez as their other striker and probably either bring in a rotation option or use a youth player.

If I'm wrong, feel free to use it as a stick to beat me with later on!

{Ed025's Note - i think we see it the same D..

Just read that arsenal are in talks with Madrid but it's believed they're asking for £60m. We are prepared to offer £45m for a player who turns 28 this season. I think Madrid will lower the asking price towards the end of the window possibly deadline day as they have debt but also have been after a few stars that they'll need to free up funds for. Fingers crossed goners it MIGHT still happen. If it doesn't then good news that reporter bird will be punished win win I say

60 mill? bloody hell...and what if he turns out to be a softie like di maria?

45 sounds about right even 50 i would say...and get the deal done...70 mill euro for a player who has probably another 3 years at the top level is pretty good deal for madrid.

Got to agree all the talk of benzema is driving me mad i want him to come but i can't help but think we are going to miss out as per usual if i'm honest a 20 mill bid for beharinho (forgive the spelling) wouldn't be a bad shout at least he's prem proven and has all the asets to be a fantastic goal scorer

I agree smoggy let's do the best we can do rather than keep pinning our hopes on a player who has shown no or very little interest in leaving his current club and that is every bit as likely to join a rival as he is us should he ever move to the premier league.
Benzema to Arsenal has Higuain to Arsenal written all over it and in the end chances are we will only see him at the Emirates when he lines up against us.

Thanks!

Ok I have no idea on the latest with benzema and arsenal. Could be the same in regards to interest but no move yet.

I have been reading that Manchester United are now in for the player. And are willing to pay him 250 per week while we can only offer about 160.

Is there any truth to uniteds interest?

It would seem a likely solution to the De Gea situation as Ramos isn't interested leaving.
I doubt utd are interested in Reals Euro's so Benzema could well be the ideal currency to resolve things.
It wouldn't exactly be a shock if it happened.

As much as I would love to get Benz, I really don't think it will happen. Kinder reminds me of the whole Higuain scenario, we have been linked with both every summer for like 4-5 years now or so it feels.
